About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Camille B0 contributionsExploring Blue Mountains in a small groupWe had an amazing tour in the Blue Mountains with Dingo tours! Our local guide Jelle picked us up from our hotel early in the morning. He instantly created good vibes in the bus and shared some jokes. We stopped at the Sydney wildlife park and spotted koalas, kangaroos and other wildlife. We continued the trip and stopped at several lookouts in the Blue Mountains. Jelle showed us places with not many tourists and stunning views! We stopped in a town where we could buy lunch. In the afternoon we did a fantastic hike. Jelle is a very driven guide that knows a lot about fauna & flora and keeps the group engaged. I would highly recommend this tour!Written September 21, 2024
- Safari470950837970 contributionsBlue mountains small group tourFantastic tour. Small group with excellent guide. Very articulate knowledgeable guide. Took us to uncrowded tourist spots. Magnificent views and wildlife experience.Written March 8, 2024
- Freedom310919853670 contributionsLow valueThe tour was disappointing mainly because the Blue Mountains were completely fogged in. In retrospect, the tour should have been cancelled. Also, the lunch arrangement was suboptimal. The operator arranges for lunch at a small restaurant where there were not enough available tables. Also, the menu is restrictive. We would recommend that the tour stop for 45 minutes in a township with 2-3 restaurants, and let the people decide where and what to eat.Written February 15, 2024
- joseaR6012BZ0 contributionsBlue Mountain BeautySuch a beautiful place. JELLIE (sounds like yelle) took us to some places other tourists dont see and he timed our arrivals for attractions for times that were before the crowd. He takes care of ordering lunch (delicious) and has a vast knowledge of birds and cultural stories. Great tour to the blue mountains.Written January 17, 2024
- stugross0 contributionsCracking tripJelle had a tour guide drop out so [seamlessly] transferred us to Sydney Adventure Tours instead. It was a great trip apart from the weather - which failed to fully cooperate - but we saw what we went to see and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Small group of 7 pax plus our guide so easy company tooWritten January 9, 2024
- P3652VErobj0 contributionsExcellent tour of the Blue Mountains with knowledgeable guideFantastic tour of the Blue Mountains, via Featherdale Wildlife Park (only a quick stop at the latter for an hour but it was enough to get around the place). Blue Mountains were great. Our guide, Jelle, was hospitable, extremely knowledgeable, humorous and really accommodating of requests from others in the group. He read the group perfectly and was really easygoing. The tour avoided most of the tourist hotspots and opted for other well-placed lookout points or short walk excursions. Lunch was great too. Seeing a couple of the one-star reviews here... I booked through Dingo Tours website and knowing it was a small group and small business put in a few alternative date options in case. I checked in via email a day or two before and communication was excellent - really clear and open. None of this felt like a hassle to me and all the comms were very professional. Don't be put off by the less good reviews; this was one of the highlights of my trip to Sydney and, given the small group, it was a great chance to chat to others across the day.Written January 8, 2024
- Gingerelayne0 contributionsTerrible Guide and experience.Guide was not knowledgeable about the area we toured. He owned an art gallery and did tours as a way to make money. Examples: He indicated that there were no termites in Sydney area and thus those were not termites or termites mounds - wrong. Also that he didn't think there were any Koalas in the Blue mountains ( thousands of Eucalyptus trees say otherwise). He had to stop to pick up water... so we were late leaving Ferndale. We changed our trip to accommodate the tour... what a mistake. One of the 2 ladies was limping and with a cane... so we were slow and always waiting on her. We had maybe 20 minutes at the Mt Tomah botanical Gardens because we were running so far behind. We still ended up being 1 1/2 hours late getting back to Sydney. Only had time to pick up some sandwiches at a market and get back to the hotel to do laundry and pack. Worst tour I have ever been onWritten November 15, 2023
- andrewkI4081WW0 contributionsBest way to see the Blue Mountains in a dayGreat day with Jelo of Dingo tours who provided great insight to the various points of interest at each stopping point and as a small tour you get to places that the big buses cant get to. I highly recommend this tourWritten October 20, 2023
- Tracy K0 contributionsExcellent tour to see the stunning Blue Mountains National Park without crowdsThis was a well planned and coordinated day and we very much enjoyed it. The first stop, Featherdale zoo is a treat, getting to feed the animals early before many other guests arrive. The animal exhibits were good and very visible for the most part. Great way to see Australia's iconic and unique animals. Blue Mountains National Park is stunning. Our guide, Andrew, was very engaging and provided great commentary throughout the day. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. Be sure to bring a jacket for the winds! Overall, this tour was a really great way to see this beautiful national park from our Sydney hotel.Written August 11, 2023
- docchavez0 contributionsPictures don’t make justicePicked up on time at hotel. Featherdale was really good. We got there early and essentially was empty, getting close and personal with wallabies and kangaroos is so much fun. Avoided large gathering of people at Blue Mountains. Our guide Dune was very helpful in finding the best spots to have the best views and to take pictures. Overall, it was an incredible experience and would highly recommend.Written August 2, 2023
- jannechiendb0 contributionsA day in the Bleu MountainsWe just had a great day with our guide Dune! He brought us to so many beautiful places, gave a lot of information and we had a great lunch. Don't forget to bring your coat in the winter as it's cold there, but Dune even has a few extra coats in case anyone gets cold. I would definitely recommend this trip. Thank you very much for this great day. Worth every penny!Written July 24, 2023

- Companion8259060 contributionsVan broke down, but company took care of usI will start by saying, we did not complete our entire tour because our tour van broke down. We made it to featherdale park and on our way to the Blue Mountains the van broke down. Featherdale Park was great, you definitely get some close up shots to Koala’s and you get to feed all sorts of kangaroos and wallabies. we only 5o minutes to spend here on this tour and that just isn’t enough if you’re an animal lover. Side note: I went to Taronga zoo the day before and that is probably the best zoo I’ve seen. You get a close up to kangaroos and koalas amongst other animals as well. Featherdale was a tad bit better in a sense you can feed and get very close to kangaroos and you don’t get that at Taronga. When the van broke down, the driver/tour guide was extremely apologetic and It was no one’s fault. We opted to walk bus station and take the bus to Blue Mountains ourselves. I gave 5 stars because our guide was on time, very nice and knowledgeable, and the company refunded us in full very quickly.Written June 7, 2023
- palls_t0 contributionsCity city tourWe had a lovely guide Eva Massi take us through the city and suburbs. She is very knowledgeable and very friendly too. She was very flexible and explained us all of what we expected to know and much more. I highly recommend this tour and kudos to Eva. Keep up the good work!Written May 22, 2023
- N1213JIjimm0 contributionsWonderful ExperienceOur guide was very personable and offered much information during the tour. An adjustment had to be made on the fly because there was an accident reported on the road ahead, and he took us to a very scenic location. Pick up was on time as promised. There was a total of 6 persons in our tour group which allowed us to have a close interaction with our guide.Written April 29, 2023

We enjoyed this tour a lot. Well organised, well-balanced and carried out with professionalism and great commitment. Avoided the big crowded places and went for the more secretive lookouts. To be recommended.

Our group of 4 was picked up promptly at 7:15 by Vonn for a private tour. We were the first to arrive at Featherdale. Did our picture with the Koala , hand fed the numerous kangaroos and saw the native birds and animals. We then headed to the Blue Mountains for hiking. Amazing scenery and waterfalls ! Vonn provided lots of good commentary. We then drove to see the Three Sisters and Orphan rock . After that short walk , we picked up a good lunch and headed out for another hike to view the mountains from a different vantage point. We had a picnic with a fabulous view. The last stop was at the Botanical Gardens. 90 minute drive back to Sydney. So glad we saw this special part of Sydney.

Dingo Tours' advertising shows a Mercedes passenger van for the private tours and charters. Our group chartered a tour with Jelle, but was driven in a noisy Toyota passenger van with broken mic/audio. No one could hear his commentary other than the front seat passenger. The scenery and itinerary were nice, but the quality of hours of travel with commentary was severely diminished. Also, the tour itself was shortened from 10 hours to 9-1/2 hours.

We are experienced travelers and were very wary about taking a tour - we wanted to walk the trails and really "see" things as opposed to the touristy sites. Jelle was the perfect guide for our expectations. We were a little concerned because we had a rainy day yet we were headed to a day in the outdoors. He had checked the weather and adjusted our morning accordingly. We started with a side trip, down a dirt road (not something a tour bus can do) to a camping area where we were greeted by a "herd" of grazing kangaroos who politely posed for our cameras. We spent the rest of the day chasing the clouds and, when the rain lifted, we walked out to the spectacular vista at Pulpit Point (down another dirt road unvisited by tour buses). At that point, we did not care that the famous 3 Sisters were a foggy bust. Lunch was in a small local restaurant with delicious homemade fare and hot "long black" coffee. If you want the tourist gig - I am sure Jelle can provide it but he will definitely make sure you'll see the stuff that you actually want to see but didn't know was out there because it doesn't make the must-see TripAdvisor cut.
