I did not expect this to be so fun. I booked an escape room based on the requests of my children age 9 and 12 years. My adult friend and I accompanied them expecting it to be kind of boring, we booked the “easiest” room. Well I was blown away ! All 4 of us were fully engaged in the game and had so much fun ! The puzzles were challenging and we definitely couldn’t have competed the room without all 4 of us contributing plus a few hints from the staff at “mission control” too. Our 6yo also came along and whilst she was not really able to help she still had fun just looking around the rooms and watching us try to do the locks etc. No one was bored. The staff were super nice and I really appreciated they allowed me to bring the 6yo as I was travelling on my own with the kids so the older ones wouldn’t have been able to go otherwise. As they did not have another booking straight after us we got a little extra time too (definitely not expected and I would understand if that was not an option) We were all really happy to complete the room and on a high afterwards. My friend and I are definitely converts to the escape room concept it is a great challenge to do with family or friends. I would definitely be keen to go again next time we go to the city.

Can't recommend this enough for team events. The organisation was so easy to do and the escape hunt team were very accomodating. On the night we were greeted kindly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms on offer were great too with a lot of little details that were appreciated. The whole experience was also such a breeze with a lot of flexibility on the rooms we did and teams etc. Thanks so much to the Escape hunt team for a great event will definitely be coming back

My wife, myself and our 12 year old daughter did the “Secret Service Mission” today and loved it. None of us had ever done an escape room before and had very little idea of what would be required. Thankfully, our ‘monitor’ patiently provided clues when requested along the way, and even gave us extra time, allowing three escape room newbies to still get the thrill of solving it and walking out the final door. Great fun, and highly recommended!

Confirmed booked but not taken. Big waste of time, would not recommend to anyone. Called during the day, spoke to a unhelpful, monotone and rude male staff member who was unable to correctly describe escape room theme details which sounded like he did not want to be there, talking to customers.
He failed to correctly take our booking of 6, in which we shaped our night around, booking dinner and catching Ubers. Male staff member was resistant to take name and number for the booking until I repeated it several times. End the call with him confirming booking time and address but when we arrived our booked was unlisted. Very disappointed which myself or anyone in our party of 6 will never visit again

The guy hosting us was quite rude. First off he told us we were in the Alice Puzzle room even though I questioned it, then when I showed him the booking, he said it was a glitch. Not sure how this was our problem, but he did give us some options to choose from which was not what I requested but still better. He then made a few other negative comments as we weren't responding the way he liked. At the end he praised us for our efforts but it was a bit lost on us given the first interactions we had. Would recommend doing the Escape Hunt, just be prepared for a slightly grumpy host!

We are experienced escapees (30+ rooms) and came to do Assassin in the Pub and Young Wizard's Quest back to back. The service was great and the gamemasters were friendly and enthusiastic. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with the rooms. The atmosphere was good but many of the puzzles were tired and clunky or didn't make sense in the storyline. Some of the mechanisms required fiddling and perfect placement to work properly. We missed a couple of 'next steps' because it wasn't obvious when we'd solved the previous puzzle correctly. The lighting (or lack thereof) in the rooms didn't help.
I imagine these rooms are good for first timers and corporate groups but if you have done a few escape rooms elsewhere, consider giving these a miss. There are better rooms in Sydney from which to choose.

We did The Young Wizards Quest with our family of 4. (Kids 9 & 11) The staff were just brilliant. They were really nice and made us feel extremely welcome throughout the whole experience. It was the right level of difficulty for us . We didn't get complete it in time but the staff were kind enough to give us another 15 minutes as we were very close to the end. I would highly recommend it to all. We are still talking about it a day later and will definitely go back to do another room

Did the Young Wizards Quest escape room with 3 (12-13 year old) girls. It wast the first Escape Room for them so decided to do an easier escape room as they were going to be solving all the puzzles. The attendant told the girls that they can ask for as many hints as they like during the game.
The girls seemed to be having fun, but got stuck on a few puzzles so asked for some hints. At first, the hints were helpful and they managed to solve some of the puzzles, but as the girls asked for further hints as the game progressed, the assistant got frustrated at them and said to them 'how can you all be so stupid!'
The girls were horrified and upset by the comments. Whilst they completed the room and escaped, the experience was spoiled by the attendants words to them, That was all the girls were talking about after the event. Not how much fun they had solving the puzzles, but how they must be so stupid.
The escape room itself was fine, but please have your attendants be more aware of who they are talking to. If the number of hints is limited, then don't tell people to ask for as many hints as you like during the game,.

I would like to say that I have attended an Escape Hunt in Basingstoke so I was comparing them as they're the same escape chain.
So like most escape rooms it was in a janky place with is part of the fun. We got in a uncared for lift and arrived in escape hunt.
There were three of us there, waiting at the front desk for what felt like 5 minutes which I know that it doesn't sound like a lot but when I looked around to see where the staff were, the 2 girls were just sat, on their phones chilling. When we were finally served it was "go sit on the sofa and sign in on the tablets" in comparison to Basingstoke which was friendly, offered us drinks and made us feel at home.
We were then thrown into our room "Wizard" where we were handed a piece of paper to read to get the back story, There was no safety chat at all. In Basingstoke the receptionist gave us the safety chat and our GM told us the back story, in accent for the rooms (we did a Wild West theme and Nordic rooms in Basingstoke, and yes he did a Nordic accent). I just assumed that they don't do this in Aus.
The room was decent, it lacked a bit of guidance at the start, but I wont go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, it was very well designed though, but could do with hiding a not so secret door. I will say that there was no music or atmosphere sound scape for over 10 mins which made it feel awkward and unimpressive. The room itself was good, decent puzzles, art touch up's needed on some bits, but would recommend the room to others.
The room had a good climax to escape which we did... or at least we thought we did. We exited back into the main room and had no one to greet us. We were out there for a bit walking in and out as we thought we had more to do. (The only time we've ever escaped and had no one to greet us was when we escape quicker than the GM thought we would, still hold the record in Margate for it :D ) I left the room and found the two girls lounging on the sofa again and I had to ask "did we escape?", she replied "did you do this thing in the room, which I said yes, "Oh then yes" she said. The way she said it, made me feel like it was an inconvenience to her, making me doubt whether we actually escaped and she just wanted to get us out. It put a dampener on a decent room.
Even at the end, it was all left up to us to ask for a photo, us to get a drink. In comparison to Basingstoke, we left our first room and the manager had come down to speak to everyone and got us drinks. He chatted to us asked us about other rooms we did and like I said earlier made us feel welcomed. We did our second room with them and came out to drinks already served waiting for us.
In summary, I like Escape Hunt in Basingstoke, I feel Escape Hunt in Sydney could be just as good if the staff gave better customer service.

Dear Christopher - thanks so much for your detailed review and sorry it's taken so long to respond (it appears Trip Advisor is not emailing us as reviews come in anymore).
I am very disappointed to hear about your experience with us as we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. As you can see by the many reviews since your visit noting the great staff we had.
I will of course raise this with the team as a reminder that customers should always be greeted warmly and treated well throughout the whole experience.
Hopefully the staff in question are no longer with us or have improved!
