- michellesG6285GV0 contributionsFor wine enthusiasts Hunter Valley makes amazing wine, a must do while in Sydney!Enjoyed the scenic drive from Sydney to Hunter Valley and Chris was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all FUN! The family owned wineries on our tour were beautiful and every glass of wine I sampled was delicious, my fav was the Prosecco and Chardonnay from Oakvale winery and all organic! The pizza and salad lunch was tasty at Binbadgen. Could have done without the gin and vodka tasting at the end of the tour and replaced it with another winery, just a thought! Our group was a fun bunch made the experience more enjoyable! Thanks Chris for stopping the van so I could take a picture of the kangaroos, you made the day complete! 🦘 💜😊Written May 17, 2024
- Xunliang L0 contributionsExcellent TourExcellent experience overall. Tour group was led by Mr Colin who was very professional and knowledgeable. He shared briefly on the history of hunter valley, the wine industry in Australia and the wine making process as well. He also spotted kangaroos for us for photo opportunities. Visited 3 Wineries for tasting (1 with cheese, 1 with chocolates and 1 just on its own), 1 Winery for lunch (wood fired pizzas) and 1 Distillery (Gins, Vodkas and Liqueurs). 1) Oakvale (Cheese) 2) Bimbadgen (Lunch) 3) Hunter's Dream Estate 4) Hunter Wine Lab (Chocolate) 5) Small Mouth Very pleasant experience at all of the locations. The drinks were great. Lunch at Bimbadgen was good too. Well worth the money as the trip includes the ride from Sydney to Hunter Valley and back. Highly recommend for those who like wines but not familiar with the area.Written May 13, 2024

Our guide (Greg) was so knowledgeable and entertaining, and the wineries and their staff were so engaging. - marialourdess20190 contributionsThe Hunter Valley experienceIf you love nature and into agriculture business, this place will surely satisfy your sense. The different types of grapes they plant and directly processed into different kinds of wine. The place has also restaurants and stores offering a variety of products, from olive products to artisanal chocolates. My son hired a stretch limousine which brought us to different places with in the valley. It’s a huge farm and owned by different persons. The locals and other tourist flock to this place during christmas time.9Written March 13, 2024

We had a great day on the Beer and Brewery Tour. We originally wanted the Wine Beer and Spirits, but couldn't be accommodated so the Brewery Tour was offered with no extra cost. They were very helpful in organizing this for us. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I certainly enjoyed most of the beers. We had a great group of people which made it a fun day. Our lunch at the Rocks Brewery was delicious and so was the beer! Our tour guide was Colin and his knowledge of all things beer was outstanding. I now know what beers/stouts have hops and which have barley. Thank you Colin and Daves Tours for an all-round great Day.

Terry was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brewing process. His Dad-jokes were pretty terrible but in a good way.
For our tastes I think there was a little too much information, particularly at the second brewery Modus Operandi where after a long drive we just wanted to enjoy a few drinks and the very nice food.
Towards the end of the tour I think he started to realise this and the provision of drinks picked up pace, and the spiel lessened giving us a better chance of enjoying the brew houses, each others company and the day overall.

G'day Liam
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent brewery tour with Terry. Our guides always to find the balance between BEERducation and relaxation, and at times, it can be challenging to know exactly what the group wants more of. In this case, it's great to hear Terry adjusted his approach as the tour progressed, and that you had an enjoyable day. Cheers

We joined Terry and a small group of beet lovers for a great afternoon full of good beer and traveler's tales, swapping recommendations and enjoying the expressions on faces ad we sampled a mixture of pale ale, sours, up as,cap, lagers and around from three local breweries around the Marickville area. The consumption was broken up by relatively short walks with some great commentary along the way. Our host Terry provided some excellent comments covering beer types and brewing techniques and if you were a novice at the start you would feel fairly proficient in the brewing process by the end of the afternoon. Beers to suit all tastes and a great sample of craft beer in Sydney in 2020.

Thanks heaps for letting us know how much you enjoyed your walking brewery tour of Marrickville. This is one of our newer tours and provides great behind the scenes access to the breweries, along with fascinating BEERducation you wouldn't get by going it alone. It's great to hear everyone was adventurous, and entertained by the mixture of beer styles. Terry is a fantastic guide, who is passionate about all things beer, and loves sharing his extensive knowledge. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. Cheers

I booked this tour for my husbands 50th with 11 of his mates. They had an absolute ball! Andy the guide was heaps of fun, knowledgeable and very professional. My husband was so happy with this gift and said it was the best way to celebrate his big 5.0! All the wives and families caught up with the men on tour afterwards and loved hearing their stories. Highly recommended!

I’m not really a beer drinker but my partner and friends enjoy trying craft beers. So I thought this would be a fun thing to do for his birthday!
Robin and Danielle took us to Batch, Sauce and Young Henry’s. Got to try some great beers and they opened my eyes to some different styles - I even bought some takeaways to enjoy at home 😉
Very informative commentary on the evolution of beer and some banter throughout the tour. I think I would like to do it again sometime.
Highly recommended.

Lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon. Learnt a lot about beer, had a nice relaxing time, would recommend for anyone who likes beer. You don't need to be a beer nut to enjoy this.
