Food and wine enjoying the Harbour
Last week Thursday May 16, 4 of us did the Sydney Princess Discovery Lunch Cruise around Sydney Harbour We had such a good time, I had to write a review. The food was delicious, and Bruce the commentator kept us entertained explaining everything about this beautiful Harbour. The 4 of us have been travelling for a few weeks now and we all agree this will be one of the highlights of our trip. Definitely a must

      Awesome afternoon cruise!
This was way way better then expected. We went for the full round and saw all surrounding very popular touristy areas. Then came back right under the bridge which was sick, then to Harbour bay which was so nice. Awesome experience

Had a great time love the view of Sydney and going out the heads, it took a little journey to see a whale but it was worth it in the end, got to see a few whales and even one that put on a show for us very exciting. And for a extra bonus we got to see some dolphins as well. The crew are great and very friendly, the lunch is good, this was mine and my partner 2nd time on this cruise and I’m making a point to go on this cruise twice a year when in season. Would highly recommend this cruise to anyone wanting a trip out sea to search for whales.

Hi there, We are delighted to hear that you had a great time on board with us sailing out past the heads, to sight some amazing whales with the additional extra of dolphins. Even better to hear that you found our crew very friendly, and that this was your 2nd time on our cruise this season! So happy you have repeated this experience with Oz Whale Watching. Get in early for lunch, it isn't running for long to reduce people filling their bellies and getting sick. The crew and captain are very knowledgeable and were able to find us some whales. We also got lots of great info about Sydney Harbour and surrounds on the trip. Make sure you have sea-sickness tablets. One of our four kids was a little queasy but keeping them active, moving and watching the ocean is the key. Lots of people spent money to feel sick and sit inside with their head on a table. Don't be one of them.

Wonderful afternoon! A committed crew that were professional and knowledgeable, but also created a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We took a trip up North as there had been reports of a feeding event, and the host was excited as this only happens every few years. We didn't find it, but I was caught up with the host's genuine excitement at the prospect.
He extended the cruise to make up for the disppointment, and we were treated to 4 whales swimming alongside us and repeatedly displaying their surfacing, dives and tail flicks.
The food was great, lots of whales, plenty of room and ability to see them. So enjoyable, I'd definitely go again!

Hi Christine, We are so glad to hear you had a wonderful afternoon on board with us. Despite not seeing the feeding event, we are glad our crew made up for the disappointment and you sighted 4 whales swimming along side the vessel. We are also delighted you enjoyed the food and overall experience on board with Oz Whale Watching. Please stay safe and we hope to have you on board with us again!

Great day out, across Sydney Harbour and out ‘the Heads’ searching for whales off the northern beaches of Sydney.
Really close encounter with 4 juvenile whales right in the middle of the heads.
Biggles gave an excellent commentary throughout the day and applied his knowledge of whales to finding us a very close encounter.
The vessel is comfortable and lunch is adequate with bar prices non-exorbitant.

Hi Ken, We are so glad to hear you had a great day out with us on Sydney Harbour and that you came across 4 juvenile whales. We will pass your kind words on about Biggles. Terribly sorry to hear you found lunch adequate, but glad our bar prices were not too high. We hope to see you on board with us again soon. For now, stay safe and well. Thanks!

    Beautiful day and fun cruise.

The skippers knowledge and commentary on not only the whales biology but also Sydney history in general also had some amazing dad jokes peppered in.

I’ve been on other ones where they encourage everyone to scream, yell and ‘woo’ which isn’t my thing so this one was much better.

They also do the right thing ethically by the whales, as such, the whales were much closer to our boat than the others that were deliberately trying to spook the whales into breaching etc.

Also well worth it if you have no interest in whales and are happy with a nice cruise and BBQ lunch with spectacular views of Sydney harbour.

This is our third time on this cruise, we have seen lots of whales and learnt something new from the very knowledgeable guides every time. An amazing way to spend the afternoon, watching these enormous creatures who don’t seem bothered at all that we’re there., mainly because the crew show a lot of respect to the rules and know types of behaviour to look out for so they don’t over crowd or spook them. Yesterday’s host was entertaining and clearly passionate about what he does, we stayed with two whales who surfaced time and time again for about two hours, awesome! The food is simple but tasty and the crew all very pleasant. Thank you once again!

It was an unexpectedly awesome day on Sydney Harbour but the
Whales won the day with their amazing antics. We got up close and personal with a pod of 3 one of them put on a show which was so heart warming. It was playing with us and giving us such a show.

This is a must do experience and Oz/Sydney Whale Watching are the people to do it with, great service, excellent guide who knew his
    Whales. Thank you so much.

What a fun afternoon our group of ten had onboard on a lovely sunny day on Sydney Harbour! Clorissa ~ the onboard Supervisor and the team went the extra mile (literally) to ensure we all caught sight of Whales and Dolphins to photograph and video also. We were informed and entertained with knowledgeable commentary by an expert and felt safe at all times. Lovely food and drinks provided with high attention to actually providing their guests an experience to remember ~ not simply a "quick tour".... and for this ... you deserve to be reviewed highly ! We shall definitely return and recommend to our friends ! 5/5 stars ~ thanks guys ~ Kip

It was a great day but not so rewarding on seeing whales. It was end of season and I had stayed away due to Covid 19. The staff on board were great. The BBQ lunch on the harbour was great. The Jerry Bailey is a good vessel for off shore whale watching.
Even though we saw 0 whales, 0 dolphins, 0 seals the windy choppy weather provided us a great day off shore and plenty of action on the boat with people not comfortable with the choppy conditions singing funny whales songs into their sick bags. The on board staff were so good.

Sadly didn't see much in the way of whales but as we have seen many whales up close before we didn't mind. It is how it goes. It was such a lovely day on the water, beautiful weather, fairly calm water, so thoroughly enjoyed the experience. While I liked the lunch, my husband didn't really think it was all that great, apart from the oysters. The wine was also fine! We chose this company because of the lunch component and because of the great Covid plan they have in place and we certainly felt that the staff were doing everything possible to ensure everyone's health and safety. The only negative comment I have is that the guy on the mike, while he had interesting things to say about whales, spent far too much time running down other boats on the water and how they were idiots for going too near the whales etc. I mean he is probably correct but I felt that his negativity was over the top and detracted from the experience a little.

Hi Annette, We are sad you did not see much in the way of whales but very glad to see this did not effect your experience on board with us too much. It is great that you experienced a lovely day on board, weather wise and overall did enjoy your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that you did not think the lunch was of great quality, we have made a note of this for our chef to think of small improvements. Again, we are sorry to hear that you found our commentator Biggles a little too much when it came to commenting on other boats behavior. We have taken this on board and I shall pass this feedback to Biggles to ensure he stops speaking of the other vessels in a demeaning manor. Have a lovely Monday!
