- lmp20250 contributionsBEYOND AMAZING, TWO HUNDRED PERCENT WOULD RECOMMEND!!We had Eko as our driver, he was so kind, so accommodating, spoke very very well english, and was incredibly helpful. We had a lovely time visiting Borobudur and Prambanan that day, all very well organised. Borobudur is so beautiful and taking this company to get the tickets for you and organise transportation is just easy peasy, makes it a stress free holiday! Prambanan was absolutely amazing, we had Jono has our private tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable, Eko and Jono knew each other, so make sure to ask for Jono if you are looking for someone who will give you all of the stories of Prambanan and BEYOND when booking with Borobudur Sunrise! I 100% recommend this company and would book again.Written January 13, 2025

- chiararI302YR0 contributionsFantastic tour and super friendly guide! We had an amazing experience with this tour agency! Eko, our guide for the day, was fantastic - always kind, patient, and accommodating to all our requests. He even waited for us when needed, making us feel completely at ease. What stood out was how he managed to skip all the long queues at the entrances of the temples, saving us so much time. We visited the stunning Borobudur and Prambanan temples, and Eko made the journey between sites incredibly enjoyable. He shared interesting insights about Yogyakarta’s history and culture, adding so much depth to the experience. If you’re planning to explore these iconic landmarks, I highly recommend this tour. - Road6319680 contributionsProfessional, friendly, and punctual driver service.Professional, friendly, and punctual driver service. We arranged everything with Mr. Tinton via WhatsApp (private transportation for 2, payment via bank transfer). Mr. Hendra picked us up at our hotel in Jogja (Toyota Yaris) and drove us to Borobudur Temple and back (we already had booked our temple tickets in advance). We even made a stop for breakfast! Good English communication. 100% recommended.Written December 27, 2024

- 645rahuld0 contributionsAmazing day trip from JogjaWe got a driver from a local place whose name was wahyu. Honestly this was probably one of the most underrated adventures we have done. The cave was beautiful and highly instagrammable. The journey to the cave was pretty epic- we initially had to be lowered down on ropes and then had a pretty adventurous trek there. Once at the location the tour guides took a number of pictures and were absolute pros. We were then basically craned out of the cave on ropes again. Highly recommend doing this if you are fit enough. Would also recommend combining this with the river rafting and tubing adventure. Ps our guide was such a great dude who took photos and videos and made us an edited movie and collage at the end. I’d recommend asking for him if possible.Written December 21, 2024
- katrinsY8355KG0 contributionsAmazing tour! Strongly recommend!!!We really had a great time and can strongly recommend it. We traveled as a couple. Booking was easy and the management was open to changes to our itinerary which made the trip unique and special to us. We visited Borobudur later in the day (where we participated in a tour included in the price) then the rice field and the temple. Tomo was such a pleasure to have as a tour guide and we consider us lucky to have met him. He was attentive and explained a lot to us about Indonesian culture. His English was remarkable and we had lovely conversations which made the travel time fly by. Thank you, Tomo, for this incredible experience and for your kindness.Written December 14, 2024
- Flyer2062770 contributionsPrambanan with dinner and showWe loved our trip to Prambanan Temple. Our driver Hanif was friendly and very helpful. Our tour guide Dwi was excellent. He shared good information and happily took pictures of us. If you want an English guide for Prambanan, we highly recommend him. The dinner was good and the night show was fun to watch. The rain even participated by stopping as we arrived at the temple. We loved our tour!.Written December 13, 2024

What a fantastic day! We booked quite last-minute (night before) but this wasn’t any issue: communication through WhatsApp was clear and quick.
We were picked up from our accommodation the next day at 7am by Youss, our private driver for the day. Youss spoke very well English and even though it was early he immediately made us feel welcome, asking personal questions with a sense of humour too. At each attraction he handled all the admin work regarding tickets and sorted us tour guides. Communication around where he would pick us up after our tour was also clear.
To top things off, even though it wasn’t part of the itinerary, near the end of the day he took us to a local workshop after I told him we really wanted to see and learn something about the Wayang Kulit (Javenese puppetry), simply by making a few phone calls. Youss went out of his way to ensure we had a good time with special attention for our needs.
In conclusion, very professional service so if you can’t be bothered figuring out everything on your own and you don’t mind spending a few extra bucks for the convenience of having your own private tour and not to worry about literally anything, this is your tour.

Excellent!
Tinton was great....he took us to Taman Sari, the palace, Merapi Lava Tour, amazing, quiet and cheap traditional Javanese restaurant, AND Borobodur in one day!!!!
The kids loved Tinton and asked if we could go with him next day, so we did!
Things we learned that are good advice for future travellers:
1)Borobodur entrance is quite expensive for foreigners. (375,000 IDR)
2) Yogyakarta airport is 1.5 hours from the city, best to allow 2hrs for the trip.
3) driver guides are not always permitted to guide tourists inside temples and palaces.

The sunrise at setumbuk was little bit packed with people but the experience was positive generally. Bodobudor and Prambanan temples are just beyond imagination and is just amazing, and what made the entire trip more enjoyable was that the guide, Atok was willing to extend our trip itinerary at Prambanan so we are able to see the sunset. The Merapi section was with little bit adventurous note and we had the chance to ride the jeep and it was heartbreaking listening to the Merapi eruptions victim stories and houses. It was a fruitful trip and is totally worth it !

Beautiful temples and a fun jeep trip to the mountain. We met up with a local guide at Borobudur temple and I had a great time learning about the temple and its restoration. We also visited the multiple museums on the temple grounds. Then Merapi and visiting the local museum describing the eruptions.
Lunch was at a great restaurant and the timing was perfect because a quick but strong rainstorm came in at that time and it was good that we were indoors. There were actually trees knocked down at Prambanan during the storm, but it was open except for the museum.
Overall a great trip and highly recommended.

I took this trip back in January with my mom! The tour guide was extremely helpful and friendly. We got a personal tour guide who picked us up from the hotel, drove us to the temples, and dropped us off back at our hotel. The trip lasted an entire day, and our tour guide would stop along the road to introduce us to local fruits. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this to anyone visiting Yogyakarta.

I will preface this by saying that I usually do not write reviews. However, Tinton was such a great guide and a great person that I wanted to write this about him.
Tinton is a storyteller. Not only is he knowledgeable about Yogyakarta and Indonesia as a whole, but he is passionate about history. We talked at length on my trip about the origin of coffee as well as the histories of some words and languages. We had good conversation through the day and he was exceptionally patient with me. Thanks to him I learned more about Indonesia as a whole from it's time as a Dutch colony to how it is now.
From the morning, he picked me up from the hostel I was staying in and immediately we began our travels to the tour sites. I also got to know him a bit more personally as I was the only one who booked for that particular tour day. Turns out, Tinton himself is a traveler and has seen chunks of the world on a budget. He is passionate about seeing the world and meeting people but also about Indonesian culture. If you want someone who really loves his culture - he's the guide for you.
He also went above and beyond for me by showing me things that I requested to see. Thanks to him I was able to try some great kopi luwak (luwak coffee) as well as meet a family of artists who did Indonesian batik for a living and had works of art in their own home that they produced.
Tinton is an honest, down to earth, good human being who just so happens to give the utmost professionalism when it comes to giving visitors to Yogyakarta a great learning experience.
At the end of the day, Tinton also went above and beyond for me and dropped me off at the airport. Not only had I met a great guide, but I had met a friend I could come visit when I come back to Indonesia.
Thanks to Tinton, I was able to see a side of Indonesia that I would not have otherwise seen. I can gladly say that I love Indonesia and was so fortunate to have met Tinton and the people I met through him. To me that is a one of a kind experience, and I'm glad I scrolled down a bit further from the first results for tours of this area and booked with him.
If you're a person who is seeking to learn more about Indonesian culture, its people, and its history, I say that Tinton is the proper guide for you.

Today we went on a trip to Borobudur, Merapi and Prambanan Temple. Our guide Pras picked us up from the hotel right on time. He was always in a good mood, told us a lot about the country and its people, and no question was left unanswered. He organized everything perfectly, even a German-speaking guide in the Prambanan Temple. We can highly recommend Pras, it's just fun with him and we really enjoyed the trip. He was always there to help and advise. Thank you very much for the lovely trip.

This tour is perfect if like us you are Yogyakarta for a couple of days and want to visit the temples and Merapi in one day. We started from Borobudur, then did the Jeep lava tour in Merapi and finished at Prambanan right on time for sunset. The temples are stunning, it feels unreal to be in front of such magnificent structures. The Jeep tour is a fun and original experience to discover the area around Merapi and know more about the history of the volcano. The real highlight of the tour for us was Tanto, our driver/guide, super friendly and able to give us the best advice and personalize our experience. After we told him we like nature and coffee, he stopped in a tobacco plantation first to let us take some pictures and then took us to the cutest Kopi Luwak coffee place to enjoy the world’s most famous coffee! We definitely recommend this tour! Thanks again Tanto for this experience we’ll never forget!

Excellent communication before the tour and our driver Eko was punctual, polite and spoke excellent English. First we visited Prambanan temple where Eko arranged a private tour guide for us. The guide spoke English well and explained a lot about the Hindu gods and stories as we walked around the temple. Afterwards, we went to the Marapi Volcano area for the jeep tour. Unfortunately the weather was very cloudy so we didn’t have good views of the volcano but it was fun to have the jeep ride.
Then, we drove to Borobudur area where we had a lunch stop before visiting the temple. At all times Eko looked after us, sorting entrance tickets and keeping us informed of timings. At Borobudur, we toured as a group and it does feel a little touristy but this is the rule of the temple so there isn’t an alternative. Really interesting though and some amazing views and photos from the top. All in all we had a great day and I would highly recommend borobudursunrise.com and their driver Eko.

It’s partly open. You can climb it now, but only if you reserve a time slot and have one of their certified guides take you up there. We did this late April 2023.

Hi there, we are five travelers who would love to take part in this tour in a couple of days time. The option is there to book in five people but would this be possible? Would we have one or two jeeps etc… thanks a million!
