About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kakkoi0 contributionsA very long and tiring day with poor logisticsWe booked this tour as a way to visit Agua Azul and get to San Cristobal on the same day. Although a convenient way to do both in one day, I’m not sure I would recommend it. There was very little communication prior to the departure day and no details of the exact itinerary. The part from Palenque to Misol-Ha (a 30 min stop) and Agua Azul (we had almost 3 hours there) was all good, but then we had to wait for 1 hour in the middle of a busy intersection, without aircon in the van, for another van to pick us up. This was extremely uncomfortable and on top of that, when the van arrived, it was full and the two of us had to share the 2 seats in the front, with the middle seat being extremely uncomfortable during the 5 hour drive. The middle seat should not be sold for such long trips. We arrived in San Cristobal after 11pm. The tour wasn’t cheap and we would expect a higher level of service and comfort for the price. The driver Raymundo was nice and friendly, but there are some logistical problems the company needs to sort out.Written June 1, 2024
- 14shines0 contributionsSaved money and time, arrived safe eventhough driving parts of route 199The road is dangerous maybe but we felt secure, nothing happened to us, the driver was greeting all the police men along the road and seemed relaxed and we saved money and time taking this route, just like many other travelers we heard doing the same. You probably can’t be 100% sure but we didn’t regret it and would do it again.Written December 23, 2023
- ganteney0 contributionsWould highly recommendI had a great tour round San Cristobal and got taken to all the neighbourhoods. We saw all the sights you wouldn't usually see and had an in depth tour of the convents and churches in the city. The tour was in Spanish and I was joined by one more couple. I would highly recommend the tour it was 3 hours long and we covered the whole pueblo.Written May 27, 2023
- JonLeeBacik0 contributionsNot recommendedA visit to Zinacantan resulted in only a visit to a single store selling local textiles. The town itself appeared ordinary. Chamula has lost charm and character and the visit only included a walk along an uninteresting street and a visit to the church where shamanic practices include the sac drive of chickens and roosters.Written February 26, 2023
- Freyja44850 contributionsWaterfall was great, lakes are better when sunny, bus broke downThe tour started off fine, we had two hours at the chiflon waterfall. This is an absolute must as it is a beautiful waterfall and a good climb. The trouble started afterwards, we saw people working on the van (never a good sign). We stopped for lunch (non commissioned) at amazing little places near a viewpoint of montebello lakes. Probably the best lunch I have had on any of these tours. It was raining at this point and was still raining when we got to Montebello lakes. The lakes would probably be very beautiful on a sunny day, but while raining they were mysterious and still beautiful in a different way. There were also shops and an area where you could go to Guatemala. This was fun. I had assumed we would get two hours as our guide didnt speak english. We got an hour and a half and were actually late back to the bus. Being late didnt matter much though as the bus wouldn't start. When it did start it ran and then stalled. All the men got out to try and help push start it. This didnt work, so we waited for other tour buses. The other buses took us to another set of lakes to then be transferred home. After those lakes we on a new bus drove for about 10 minutes, stopped and then got back on our old bus. After 5 minutes on the old bus we needed gas, so we waited. Then in another 15 mins we stopped 4 times, and stalled a couple. After the last stop (they kept saying we would be getting a new bus) the bus started and we only stopped periodically for the bus driver to check on the engine. We did make it home thankfully. I feel bad for the bus driver, he did a great job amidst the stress of a bad bus. Overall, I don't think that you should book through viator as an english speaker. The company that they gave us was Otisa, which has bad reviews. Book when you get to San Cristobal. If you book through viator make sure you check who is doing the actual tour.Written January 5, 2020
- vanessaphilippam0 contributionsAmazing Waterfall, boring lake in comparisonThe trip to the waterfall was amazing. The hike up the mountain is completely worth it. We even paid another 20mxn to walk to the super top, totally recommendable as you get to the beginning of the waterfall. Unfortunately the zipline had a huge queue so that we didnt have enough time to do it as our tour only left us 2 hours to explore. From there we went to montebello which really couldnt compare to the waterfall. The lake was rather boring with the opportunity to take a ride on a brail for another 200mxn that were not included in the trip. We came back to san christobal at 9pm.Written December 28, 2019
- damruta0 contributionsGreat tour, price, well organized!Really good and trustworthy tourism agency in San Cristobal de las Casas! We booked 3 tours with the agency - to Chamula, Sumidero el Cañon and Palenque, starting to drive at 4am in the morning. All tours were really well organized, was enough time to see the locations and walk around, the tour gide/driver we had in Chamula spoke perfect English, even the other two tour guides/drivers didn't, but it was okay :) The prices at this tourism agency were much better than in other agencies. Leo (tourism agency owner) was really friendly and helpful! The meeting point to go to the tour is Al Grano Cafe (don't mix it up with El Grano Cafe) at the main square which is called Zocalo.Written December 14, 2019
