      Educational tour made fun
Majolika ceramic factory in Modra exceeded our expectations. Our guide Martina with her natural flare made the tour fun and presented interesting facts in a lite and easy way. The whole tour was interesting from start to finish. We got to see people at work creating the pieces of art right on the spot as well as we could give it a go dipping a piece of pottery in a glaze. When in Modra, this tour is a must.

This Tour is Worth Your Time
We had a great time and learned a lot on our tour of the ceramic factory in Modra. Our tour guide, Martina, greeted us as though we were old friends, and made the tour so much better with her warmth and kindness. She was knowledgeable and efficient, and we left the tour knowing that choosing it was a great decision!

      Modra and Us.
We had a wonderful time in Modra, specially at the Ceramic factory. Martina was our guide. She explained everything beautifully. Mr. Petrash gave us a live demonstration of how the pottery is made. My friend and my daughter did it themselves, too. It was amazing. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was completely worth it.

      Spectacular Ceramics
This was an interesting and educational tour. One sees artisans sculpting, painting, and baking the handmade pieces. Martina was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic… a 10 star tour guide. She even took me to a small local shop to buy a postcard for my collection. However, be advised that ‘transportation provided’ means within Modra. A taxi or train/tram is needed to get to Modra from Bratislava.

      Excellent tour, lovely guide
This was a wonderful tour. You can see all the stages in the production process and even get to try throwing a pot yourself. Now that was fun! Everyone at the factory was friendly and welcoming, and Martina, the guide, went above and beyond the call of duty. She not only took me on a wonderful tour but picked me up at the train station and gave a (delicious!) local recommendation for lunch afterwards. I cannot possibly recommend this tour more, especially for solo travellers. So many experiences turn out to be "minimum 2 participants" or prohibitively expensive. This was fun, interesting and a morning well-spent. One other point is that it's a simple, short, cheap and comfortable train ride from Bratislava.

      Our fav experience in Slovakia
What an awesome morning out!!! Martina was so accommodating, the actual location does not normally do tours on a Saturday but as they were having a sale were ok for us to come! Martina met us outside the factory and guided us in, then gave us the ins and outs of Modra's extensive history in Ceramics. She then introduced us to the master Potter who was happy to guide us in our first time every attempting to mould clay (patience was his forte)! Martina made the whole experience fun and casual and we must say it was our highlite for our time in Bratislava!

      Tour of Sv Jur
Absolutely fantastic evening in the town of Sv Jur. Our guide, Martina, was very knowledgeable, organised, and funny. She has taken us to some most beautiful wine cellars in the town and introduced us to their enthusiastic young owners. Thank you so much!

Cosy little town Sväty with an excellent guide
I convinced my colleagues from Vienna to visit Slovakia and wanted to show them more than just Bratislava. So we took the train from Bratislava and joined Martina for the evening tour in Sväty Jur. It was rather fresh outside but with Martina and her endless stories we enjoyed the evening a lot. Thank you very much for the memorable trip

      Best entertainment ever!
Great sense of humor, passion in storytelling! The best guided tour I have ever had. Over one hour of laughter while hearing about Bratislava's monuments. Bratyslava is so interesting thanks to you, Martina. I'm looking forward to the full moon tour, your own "product"!

A Winderful Winter Walk in the Small Carpathians
Martina had given this wonderful guided walk the previous week in Slovak; this time she entertained us in English, providing a fascinating insight into the community of German woodcutters who lived there up in the hills for over a hundred years. It was a fantastic experience and I am looking forward to my next outing with Modra Tours!

This is an excellent tour guide - funny, knowledgable, and dynamic. I enjoyed our walk in beautiful Slovak woods while chatting about the Slovak history and culture. Glass of excellent wine out under the night sky was a very welcome and pleasant end of the tour. I will never forget it!

Taking tours with Martina absolutely made my visit to Modra the best. I was traveling solo on this trip, so was very happy to find that Modra has an excellent English-speaking guide (she also speaks German, and a bit of Spanish, too, I think). One afternoon, Martina took me on a hike in the Small Carpathian hills outside Modra, amongst the German woodcutters' cottages and surrounding forest. Besides being a local, Martina also has really studied history of the region and is therefore very knowledgeable. On another day, Martina took me up to the top of the town hall tower to see the view and learn more about the history of Modra. (If you go up when the bells chime, you will get a noisy and beautiful bonus!) I also opted for a wine tasting tour with her which did not disappoint! The wines of this region are spectacular and tasting them with someone who understands the wines and even knows some of the makers, was very special. Martina is a friendly and excellent guide who I would highly recommend to anyone coming to this region of Slovakia!
