Meet at Cellar Door for a 10:30am start and then its a guided wander down to the vineyard. Learn about the Swan Valley as a wine region, and the grape varieties that make the this area special. We return to cellar door to taste some white wines as we continue through to the working winery.  Learn about the wine making process and view the equipment. There may even be some wines to try directly from tank. Great photo opportunities all through the tour. We then move on to red wines as we discuss the role of oak barrels in the barrel room. This tour is taken by the people that grow the grapes and make the wine, so its the perfect time to get all of your wine questions answered. You will leave with a good "grape to glass" understanding of how wine is made. Finish up at Cellar Door and do some shopping. The cellar door is full of locally made produce and wine which makes a perfect gift. This is a walking tour, sensible foot ware required, no high heel shoes.

      Amazing
We visited this place during our holiday in Western Australia and we were positively surprised The location is amazing. We had a tour with wine tasting first and after that an excellent lunch at the restaurant overlooking the vineyard close to the river.

So glad we decided to visit!
Stunning setting and incredible food. We popped in on a whim for some wine-tasting and just had to stay for lunch!! We shared some plates and were totally blown away by the quality and taste. Big thumbs up - will make a point of coming back!

      A great cellar door experience.
A hidden gem off a main highway. Very warm host and very informative about their wines. Our host was a delight. Great wines. Loved this cellar door.

      Very Pleasing Experience
Nice wines and quality food within lovely vineyard surrounds. $75 three course ($65 mid week) was good value. Food not perfect but still of a high standard. Duck dish was a standout as were the desserts. Definitely will return, one of the finer food options in the Valley.

      Great stay
The cottage was lovely and comfortable, beautiful views and also very easy to book and co-ordinate our stay. It’s very central as well so was very convenient for our weekend plans.

A perfect night out once again
An absolute highlight of every year is to enjoy the most delicious Rose I’ve ever head, in a picnic rug, under the stars at the Twilight Picnic Concerts. Adam Hall and the Soul Playboys were as fabulous as always. So much singing and dancing. 10/10 for a brilliant experience

      Delicious lunch
We had the best lunch here, one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Scallops were perfectly cooked and chorizo and goats cheese entree perfection. Chargrilled Kingfish main...fish with amazing steaky flavour and the best, fall off the bone, duck I have ever had. Outdoor settling was pleasant and Service was good. Desserts were generous but we were almost too full to enjoy. We were doing self drive of valley and so glad we chose to eat lunch here. Highly recommended.

      Beautiful day at the winery
Today we had lunch at Upper Reach Winery it was a very windy day but we still sat in the verandah to admire the views. The service was good, the food was very delicious as usual especially the octopus,Kingfish and blue swimmer risotto was to die for. Thank you to the chef for the fantastic meal. PS. We had a bottle of your beautiful Grenach Shiraz which complemented our meal.

      Birthday celebration
Lovely birthday celebration for my Mum. We arrived early to do some wine tasting and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. As we had a table booked at the restaurant, the tasting was free. We were then greeted at the restaurant by more friendly staff who were very patient with us as we took our time selecting from the menu. The food was delicious and well presented - highly recommend the lamp parcel. The restaurant also offers a pizza area which is located in the garden, along with a wood fire and plenty of room for the kids to run around. A lovely day out and I can't wait to return.

      $1000 for a driver only
Laura charged as $100 +$50 an hour for her expertise. She was nowhere to be found. We pay $150 plus 20% gratuity an hour for essentially a driver. She made reservations for us and thats it. That's no knowledge sharing or nothing. You could get the same experience going to the wineries yourself. We are paying over $900 for a driver got 5 hours!

      Worth a visit
Had visited 3 other wineries and asked at the last one where to go, was pleasantly surprised. Nice grounds but the wines were much more impressive than I expected. Also very friendly Cellar Door. Worth a visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour and tasting at Upper Reach - beautiful winery, great experience, and we both learned a lot of new information about wine. We stayed for a most enjoyable lunch - everything was good, and probably one of the best pork dishes I can remember eating. Highly recommended- thanks to all the team who helped make it so enjoyable

Lunch looking over the vines was let down by some very average food and inexperienced service, a beetroot salad offered as a main course using tinned sliced beetroot is just not good enough when small roasted beets are freely available. My salmon in a filo parcel was excellent but not hot. Average quality wine sold at expensive prices$14 per glass I thought ordinary. Waitperson removing dishes whilst one at the table is still eating maybe efficient but poor etiquette. Overall quite forgettable when with a little thought and effort could be so good.

Highly recommend visiting this small boutique winery.
One of the best private tours in Swan Valley. Owner Laura is very accommodating with our schedule, despite not opening on Sunday usually. Alex is our wine tour guide, who is a knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate guide. Recommend to finish up with delicious lunch with wine.

We had an absolutely amazing time on our wine tour and tasting! We were shown how the wine is made, got to see the grapes after they were pressed and got a really in depth tour of how wine making takes place, difference between whites and reds and show the amazing vines up close (even for a few grapes right off the vines). The wines were delicious, Lauren was awesome and we really did have a great time! We finished off by adding on having lunch at the restaurant there and it was delicious! Really friendly staff all around and highly recommend for an amazing day out! It’s great to be able to appreciate the amount of work that goes into each bottle of wine! Thanks !

The family took time off on a Friday to enjoy the $65 3 course mid-week lunch. We scored a table on the balcony overlooking the vines. The lunch was delicious (I loved my octopus and spiced lamb) with each course carefully crafted, the views and weather perfect.

Before the lunch we did a full range tasting. Laura is always generous and friendly! We ended up purchasing, with the standout for us – the Reserve Chardy, and the Wilyabrup Cabernet! Highly recommended!

Sunday Lunch at Upper Reach restaurant was very disappointing! Main course of breadcrumbed shark fillets was small, overpriced portions. Tiny filets of shark were over-cooked and rubbery. Four small pieces sitting on a small bed of lettuce with a squirt of some kind of mayonnaise $39.00. Not good.

My wife's crispy skin chicken was a tiny portion of over cooked and chewy chicken thigh. $39.00.
    Vegetables were an extra $12.
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.
    Poor Value. Over priced.
    Badly Cooked.

Hi Cliff, We're all so very sorry that you didn't enjoy lunch. I wish that you'd let us know on Sunday, we could have sorted it out for you; we had no idea that you weren't happy. We don't have shark on the menu, so you must have ordered the crumbed whiting fillets, these are line caught at Shark Bay in WA. The whiting is served on almond cream underneath and then topped with chicory, fennel, caper and Yarra Valley caviar...there isn't any lettuce nor mayo on it. We use local, line caught fish, that we skin, bone and fillet ourselves- so very much a handmade process & trying to be as sustainable as possible. Whiting is a smaller fish, so we put 4 or 5 fillets onto each dish (depending on the size). We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience and we hope you give us another try.

What a lovely place with delightful wines! Laura does a wonderful tour/presentation and we learned a great deal from her.

We visited while on a cruise excursion and it was the best excursion that had on our 30 days cruise circumnavigating Australia. We visited several Australian wineries but Upper Reach was the absolute best. Our favorites are the 2016 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2016 Reserve Shiraz.

We have ordered three cases since we got back home and will likely continue to do so as we do love their wines. Go try them - we just know you will really like them, too.

My friend made a booking for today and on arrival were told that our booking was on standby.

We were then told that the kitchen staff were overloaded with orders, so this meant that we were most likely not able to dine in.

We were given the option to venture down to the pizza section where we could have wines and cheeseboards etc

I was starving and smelling the delicious food coming from the kitchen was torture. I felt brave enough to ask the waitress if we could dine in, and we’re happy to wait for the food

She was so lovely and arranged a table for us. we ordered some wine and a three course meal.

To our surprise, the food came out rather quickly. Oh my goodness! The food was divine. I had the grilled king fish with with salad and a dab of caviar. My friend had the tiger prawns

Prior to this, the entrees did not disappoint. My scallops were the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked to perfection. My friend was delighted with the goat cheese and Spanish sausages.

The deserts were exquisite. I gobbled at mine and was tempted to lick the bowl. It was a crème brûlée with raspberries. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

It was $75 for the set menu, and it was worth it. I’m going to take my family there very soon. Honestly, this is one of the best places for dining in the whole of Western Australia.

The service was spot on, friendly and consistent. I will be definitely returning for some more delicious food.

We enjoyed a fabulous day at Upper Reach.on Saturday 2/4/22. First, we sampled some of the latest white and rose vintages, then a lovely lunch with a bottle of Reserve Chardonnay and finally we sampled the reds and the liqueur Muscat and Tawny. A wonderful afternoon. The meal and restaurant ambiance and service were outstanding, as it was at the Cellar Door where Derek and Laura enthused us by explaining everything so beautifully.

Upper Reach never disappoint. Did the winery/vineyard tour for the first time, I've visited UR numerous times over the years. The tour was very informative, love Laura's passion. Brought home some new knowledge about wine making. Followed up with a 2 course lunch at Riverbook, again another place that never disappoints. Upper Reach have great wine, great location, great food (Riverbrook) and great owners!! Keep up the great work!!

A lovely winery overlooking the vines and near the river. Steven the tour guide was very informative and very personable. Could have done with a little more wine tasting but other than that was a lovely experience. Really enjoyed the wines we did taste and took some home with us. Had lunch afterwards at the adjoining restaurant overlooking the vineyard. Overall was a great way to spend a few hours in the swan valley.
