- 967Jude20130 contributionsNot to be missedThis Food and Wine tour was so much better than I could have imagined. The information provided was clear and precise re directions where to meet etc When we were introduced to our first guide as past of the wine tour, I was very impressed. Our wonderful guide, Paula, was a family member from the property and vineyard and she was to show us around and do the wine tasting with. The information was excellent as was the awesome venue. We were treated to an underground cave for our white wine tasting and red and dessert wine was outside in the garden. Paula was excellent 👌 👍 Daniella was our awesome guide for the 2nd part of the tour. She was gorgeous and had a great wit about here. An excellent tour, not to be missedWritten August 24, 2024
- bobbiec0070 contributionsNot worth itI expected more in the way of a dinner. It was more like appetizers. We ate outside of a restaurant that had no view. By the description, I expected so much more. I thought the prize was high, considering we had to buy our own round trip train ride.Written August 10, 2024
- miriamjU5392YS0 contributionsDo this when in Rome! The best expirience during our one week vacation in Rome! 100% authentic, recommended ❤️ Perfect if you aslo could use a break from the turist area. Just 3 stops with the train from Rome Termini!Written July 22, 2024

- Bruce99980 contributionsDinner not exactly as advertisedRecently joined a small group for the Sunset Wine Tour & Dinner. Things were lovely at the winery despite the owner explaining there was none of the advertised “delectable” virgin Olive oil to taste as it had run out 6 months ago. The driver then took us into town where we met a guide who showed us a bakery (and served a bite sized piece of pork sandwich), though she didn’t order up pizza, slow roasted pork and other items as advertised in the tour outline. She then took us to a small restaurant in town to dine outside (not the charming square that was advertised), where we had a small meal (not the picnic style advertised), and then she left us. No sign of the advertised views over Rome nor the sunset. Most guests left early, about 8pm. We went looking for the advertised sunset views and the square we had been told we were going to dine in. Trains back to Rome leave hourly, and a group of us decided to get on the 8.30pm train. The written tour information we had been given said we could return to Rome “ every hour as you prefer”. Pity the train conductor halfway to Rome didn’t exactly see it that way. She said you’ve been given tickets for the 9.36pm train so you shouldn’t be on this earlier one !. Not exactly a glowing end to our day. Nice tour of the winery though and some tastings. You might want to eat a good lunch first though.Written May 18, 2023
- Kathryn C0 contributionsAmazing Experience! We have been to Amsterdam, Venice, Florence, and now Rome on our honeymoon, and this has been the highlight! Such a fun experience! The communication was crazy fast, even with back and forth emails, every detail was seen to and explained in depth, and the whole process was so unique and fun for us. Our AMAZING guide, Max, met us at the train station (a quick and cheap 20 minute ride from Roma Termini) and led us on a mini historical and informational tour through downtown Frascati. We stopped to take a few pictures at a spot overlooking the gorgeous surrounding areas before stopping for a quick tasting of local wines. The appetizers we were served might be the best things we've tasted on this trip! 3 local specialties that were so flavorful. Pizza making was silly, fun, and neat to learn how they do it in the shop. Plus, we got to eat delicious pizza and try more wine, so, really you can't go wrong. We just did the pizza and wine tour, but I'd come back for the full half-day tour for sure! 100% recommend this super unique and friendly experience! Thanks, Max!!Written August 24, 2021
- HanSteveO0 contributionsWe went in 2019 but I never reviewed....As the title says, this review is from August 2019. Just getting around to it. Definitely a stand out memory of our trip to Italy. Pizza making and wine tasting was awesome. The little town of Frascati is charming and the wine was great. Its a short train ride over from Rome. The pizza making is like a dream come true. Making a pizza? In ITALY? Are you kidding me? This was so much fun, pizzas turned out great and we made some friends. 10/10 would do againWritten June 5, 2021
- 925martv0 contributionsWhat a great experience! We had such a great time, lovely hostess who told us all about the small town Frascati! Then we were introduced to a great pizza maker who makes the dough for over 50 years! What a great way to experience authentic Italian food and do something with your own hands.Written October 8, 2020

- Victoria M0 contributionsAmazing experienceAbsolutely amazing! Everyone was just so welcoming and kind to us! We walked through the town and learned all about the history and talked to the sweet locals. After we got to try some local wines and make pizza! Making the pizza was so much fun and tasted amazing! It felt very relaxed and after making the pizza we could sit and enjoy some wine! If you are going to Rome I recommend this tour! They give amazing instructions and even videos on how to take the train from Rome!Written August 9, 2020
- 007ColoradoTraveler0 contributionsperfect tourThis was a memorable tour. Wonderful guide, wonderful itinerary. Great time at the restaurant to finish the day. I've been telling friends to do this tour on their visits to Rome.Written March 7, 2020
- Zora C0 contributionsThe best trip to a small winery near RomeLoved this winery! Only 20 min by train from Rome. Pick up at the railway station and brought to the winery. Beautiful countryside, magical setting. We made raviolli from scratch and fettuccine. Lots of fun and camaraderie. Our guide Stephanie was wonderful. We ate what we made and more, they even provided gluten free for me. Wine was delicious and the atmosphere memorable. After lunch came out guitar and piano and the chef came out to sing. Everyone joined in for the refrains. We thought we were dreaming, such a wonderful day! On the way home we were driven through the village to the raiway station .Make sure you book in advance , Alfredo will answer all your questions. Would do it again ! Thank you so much!Written March 2, 2020
- Ante_Vuckovic0 contributionsGreat and relaxed experienceJust half an hour from chaotic Rome, you get to visit an old family-owned winery in Frascati. The property itself has a lot of history, wine cellars (volcanic caves are amazing) and history behind the place is unbelievable. Wine tasting took place in the room on the property, the host was great, friendly and involving. Afterward, we had an amazing lunch in Frascati in an old family-owned osteria, where the servings are really generous. Unlike Rome, there is no rush, so we ended up socializing with other people in the group as well as with the owner of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this experience.Written February 18, 2020
- MiraS330 contributionsBeautiful experienceThis Wine & food tour was realy memorable, not only by the fact that you visit a beautiful pitoresque vinyard, a winehouse and a deep wine cellar of the family Ceccarelli, dated from the time of Ancient Rome, but also because of the frendly and kind guides that welcome you and share their knowledge and passion for the production of the highest level of Italian wine, as well as for the perfect fusion with the most famous Italian dishes. After trying their Frascati Superiore DOCG Malvazia, you have no choice but to take some of it home and enjoy with your family and friends. We enjoyed every second of it and I highly recommend it! Cheers 😊Written February 18, 2020
- G3050EFalexanderd0 contributionsOur Favorite Experience! We came in the beginning of January for this tour, and again we were the only ones on it, but it was worth it! We decided to have our honeymoon the day after our wedding in Italy (December 29th), and even though it was off season, I would say it's the only way to explore Italy. But with enough of that rambling, this tour was still everything! I honestly didn't know what to expect (I didn't read the itinerary before), but it exceeded my expectations, and then some. Giovanna (Giovanni? Forgive me!) was our tour guide, and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the town. And my wife and I were so grateful to be the only ones on this tour, because it really afforded us a very intimate view of Italian life. The couple of stops we made were excellent, but when we got to our final destination, this is where we spent the most amount of time. Sorry to keep going, but to explain myself a little bit: I was a pizza chef for quite a few years and quite a few places, but I won't name any of them, and I'd still say that it's quite the hobby for me. So coming to this place had me high on my hopes, and they were always met. Cooking pizza in the home country, and especially on this particular tour was the best way to do it. Somewhere out in the Italian countryside, with a homegrown pizza chef. I'll stop there, but if you're looking for a place to go for something fun (and to cook!), I would recommend this place highly.Written January 19, 2020

I am disappointed to write a review about a wine tour and dinner in the sunset that did not meet our expectations. The description clearly stated that dinner was included, and I even sent an email to inquire about this beforehand, but unfortunately, this promise was not fulfilled. Instead, we were provided with a small apertivo at a restaurant located amidst buildings, completely devoid of the picturesque sunset and the anticipated view as depicted in the promotional pictures. I advise future participants to take note of this discrepancy.
Moreover, not only were we left without dinner during the tour, but we also had to search for an alternative dining option afterwards, as well as find a suitable location to enjoy the anticipated view. It was evident that the other members of the group shared the same dissatisfaction, and we all felt hungry when we departed from the tour.
Furthermore, contrary to what was mentioned in the description, we were not provided with any olive oil tasting experience and not any pizza. However, I must acknowledge that the wine tour itself was enjoyable, and Paula, our guide, did an excellent job. Additionally, our tour guide, Max, was exceptionally friendly throughout the experience.
Overall, while the wine tour portion of the event was satisfactory, the lack of the promised dinner and missing olive oil tasting left much to be desired. It is my hope that the organizers rectify these issues to ensure a more accurate representation of the tour and a better overall experience for future participants.

I want to begin with the clarification that this review is for an experience which is not listed on this platform. Only our lunchtime tour is available on this platform.
Unfortunately, the timing of the sunset is something that changes throughout the year and it’s not something that we can adapt the tour schedule around. Especially in July when the sun doesn’t set until about 9PM. We need to maintain a schedule that allows our guests to take the train to and from Rome. I understand you feel the photos are misleading, they were taken during other times of the year when the sun sets at an earlier hour.
Regarding the dinner, there was a large selection of appetizers as well as a pasta course of lasagna provided. I’m sorry you felt as though it wasn’t enough food (in fact the restaurant owner called us upset the next day about the interaction because it’s the first time he’s had complaints about the amount of food). The menu is designed based on a typical local dinner, and I understand that portion size differences can be a bit of a culture shock, but we do provide the amount of food for a local meal. In the past we have had guests unable to finish the portions provided and we try our best to prevent food waste by serving normal Italian portions for our tour.

My daughter highly recommended the Frascati wine tour because she enjoyed it with her friends 4 years ago during her fall semester in Rome. We loved that it was a short train ride to another cute town in Italy. We enjoyed the Frascati winery led by Paola and touring the vineyards and underground caves. I am not much of a white wine drinker, but I loved the taste of Frascati wine because it was refreshing, not too sweet, and surprisingly. dry. After the tour, we took a walk in the town of Frascati led by Max and saw the most incredible views of Frascati and Rome. Afterwards, we visited a bakery and then we were treated to a delicious lunch of pasta at an Italian restaurant.

We absolutely LOVED this half a day tour from Rome! We easily took the 9:49 train from Termini (2.10Euro) to Frascati and then were picked up and taken to the most scenic winery we have ever been to. You can't believe you are only a half an hour outside of the hustle and bustle of Rome as you feel you are totally in the countryside. The incredibly sweet and friendly owner gave us a wonderful tour and tasting and then we got into the vans again and they took us into town. A lovely tour guide met us and we tasted traditional cookies and the most delicious potato pizza with with or without porchetta. Then a short tour and more wine with a fabulous pasta lunch. All for 65 Euro a person. They are very adaptable as far as dietary restrictions. It was such a fun day! I highly recommend it Bravo!! Bravo!!

Visiting the 16th century artisanal winery in Frascati was a truly wonderful experience! An amazing day right from the start. When we arrived at the winery, an exuberant Paola greeted us with open arms and made us feel extremely welcomed. She was well detailed in explaining the origins/history of the winery and included many personal, family stories. The setting was wonderful and was very relaxing. Exploring the cave was fascinating and we tasted the first out of three delicious wines there. After the cave, we were escorted to an outdoor setting among the olive trees where we tasted two more wines. Cheeses, breads, and wine cookies were served as well. After the vineyard tour, we then went into the charming town of Frascati where we walked with our guide, Joanna, who had a bubbly personality. She showed us the local sites with a great wealth of knowledge. We were eventually escorted to a quaint restaurant, Osteria Dell'Olmo, where the food, wine, and comradery with the other guests and owner (wish I recalled his name!) was outstanding. Our driver, Marco, was prompt and was a safe driver. Lastly don't want to forget the family dog, Orzo I believe was his name, who was as friendly as can be. This was definitely a favorite, personalized experience while visiting Rome. Everything was top notch!

We took a quick train ride from Rome to Frascati and were met at the station by a driver that took us to Antiche Terre Tuscolane winery. We had a tour of the property and had a tasting of their wines & olive oil at a beautiful setting in the vineyard. We were then taken to the town of Frascati, walked through the town, tasted a porchetta & then had a meal at a secluded little restaurant. We were taken back to the station for a ride back to Rome. It was an awesome day of nice people, great wines & food. There were 4 other couples on the tour of really fun people.

What an excellent way to spend a few hours. We were picked up at Frascati Station and whisked to the vineyard where our very knowledgeable and interesting guide, Paola gave us an outdoor tour revolving around vines and the olive trees. Next it was into the caves of the old volcano where we tried some of the family white wine. Absolutely delicious - and this from a red wine drinker. There then followed another couple of wines with nibbles before going back to Frascati for a tour of the town and a visit to a bakery and a restaurant for a lovely group lunch and more wine. Everyone involved is very friendly and passionate about what they do. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This was a fantastic experience, a highlight of our trip to Rome. It was extremely well organized, and each part was thoroughly enjoyable. The winery visit with Paola was fantastic- she was a passionate, knowledgeable and kind host, providing a great introduction to local Roman wine and wine making history. The vineyard is in a spectacular setting. Following our time with her, we were transported to the village for a tour with Giovanna who was also a lovely, friendly and fun host. She obviously loves her town and it’s understandable why. She showed us around and then took us to a local restaurant for a great lunch where the chef/owner joined us in conversation for a bit. Really, the whole experience was first rate and we highly recommend it!

One of the highlights of our Italy trip! Very well planned itinerary, great communication leading up to it so we knew how to meet up with the group, and one of the best wine tours I’ve been on. The winery tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind. There was a beautiful view and a very interesting cave. The wine and snacks were delicious. Afterwards, the trip into the Frascati town and the restaurant was fantastic. Every single person associated with this tour was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I will recommend this to everyone who visits Rome! Thanks so much.

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Frascati Winery on the advice of our travel agent and it was well worth it. We got a private tour from the owner who told us some great stories and taught us plenty about wine making. After the tour we had lunch at the B&B on the hill and were treated to some of the best food around. We had a great time and would definitely do it again.
