Pier is an excellent host, and after showing us a round the lovely town ... only a short train ride from Rome but it feels like another world ... we were introduced to some of the local specialities, including porchetta. The food was delicious and we dashed to catch the last train with very full tummies. This is a MUST for anyone who enjoys good food and wine, and would like to just have a slow evening.Written November 7, 2018

What a wonderful surprise, who could
Imagine that just 20 min. from the center of Rome you could discover such charming little town like Frascati, amazing typical food and wine and 2 beautiful lakes. Pierpaolo the tour guide is super knowledgeable and super fun and will make you discover so many places, restaurants and typical things. If you are in Rome and want to escape the city this is a must do, but also if you are in Rome I suggest to stay one extra day to discover the Castelli Romani with Pierpaolo!!!

Our day trip to Castelli Romani was very well organized. We visited many different lovely small towns. The views were very beautiful, the wine delicious and the food excellent. Pier was a really good guide, a real local. He spoke about local life and circumstances as well as more general topics. We are especially grateful for the tips he gave us to spend time later.
I would recommend this tour to others as well, and the next time I come to Rome, I will definitely go back to Castelli Romani.

Amazing tour! It was by far one of the best AirBnB experiences I’ve had on my entire trip. Pier is an amazing host - very engaging, knowledgeable, and fun! He showed me around the most beautiful places of Castelli Romani, shared their history and interesting facts, and introduced me to some of the local traditions and delicacies. Frascati was a breath of fresh air and a feast for the eyes after hot and busy Rome. I liked it so much that I will definitely be back to continue exploring the region. Definitely a highlight of my stay in Italy!

We spent a beautiful half day just outside of Rome exploring several small villages with Pier. Just a quick 30 minute train ride from Termini brought us to Frascati. From there the wonderful Pier showed us around several small villages sharing what makes them each unique and special. I truly felt this was the highlight of our visit. I can’t recommend this tour enough!!!

Absolutely outstanding tour with Pier .A local with a wealth of knowledge . We both thoroughly enjoyed it so much. And so nice to get away from the crowds in Rome. The little towns are just exquisite . Lots of beautiful views over the lake .

Pier was great! Felt like we were out with a local friend for the day - and one who knew a lot of great info too. Just a fun experience all around. If in doubt, book it, you won't be disappointed.

If you're tired of spending all day with other American tourists -- DO THIS. I've done every day trip from Rome: Positano, Capri, Tuscany, Naples. On these trips I spent all day on a bus with other Americans, and visiting touristy shops (more Americans). This is a 100% local experience. It's a day in 3 villages with the charming Pier. The most memorable day in Italy.

Pier was friendly and most professional in his service right from our first point of contact, this added to our wonderful day in this charming and tranquil place so close to Rome! Pier creates a really good excursion away from the frenetic pace of Rome. We enjoyed all of the villages, especially Nemi and Frescati. The stops for snacks and pictures were great, but the best feature was such a personable and entertaining tour guide. Ask for Pier!

On our final day we have decided to take the Castelli tour with Pier. I feel so privileged to have seen the country side with a local guide far from the madding tourist crowd in Rome. Especially the Fraschetta experience with Pier has been the highlight of my entire trip in Italy. It is definitely not just a dinner but a whole new level of mouthwatering experience that will be remembered forever. You meet Pier and after the first few minutes you feel like as if you've known each other for years; he is very friendly and attentive. The owner of the place is also the producer of the wine, so you get a chance to chat over a glass of wine and delicious simple food with them whilst the locals sing traditional Roman songs; I should admit that I felt exactly as if I was in an Italian neo-realistic movie scene. If you love wine, food and people go for it; I guarantee you, this tour will be the best thing you have done when in Rome.

Hi, i would like to book this trip for 28th of October. I am traveling with my husband and two children age 7 and 3. When I tried to book the trip it allowed to book 12+ only, no option for the children. my question is: if I book 2 people 12+ is it ok if we bring our children who are both under 12 ? or this excursion is not suitable for under 12s and therefore we shouldn't book the trip?
