About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Diana1862990 contributionsA great morning out!We don't particularly like rum but had had this tour recommended so thought we'd try it. We had a brusque welcome (by a Group4Security lady - 'You can only do the tour if you've booked in advance.....you can't do the tour in those shoes.....show me your other shoes...etc) - very off putting and we nearly left the site. However, we explained that we had no wi-fi and not everyone can book on-line and she went off to see if we could joion the morning tour......and we could (after I'd changed my shoes!) So far we would have given a 2 out of 5 for such an unpleasant welcome.....but then we met Ramal and had the most amazing tour of the distillery. He was knowledgable, entertaining and had a great personality........and he turned our experience in to a 5 out of 5. Thank you Ramal for a fascinating and interesting morning (and for including us in your tour as latecomers when you didn't have to) Perhaps someone could have a word with the lady on the gate about welcoming customers?!!.Written February 9, 2024
- B2726EHdonnah0 contributionsTrip Not Fulfilled - be warned! No stars for this company sadly. Having booked this trip in Dec 2023 for a visit in Feb 2024, I was very disappointed when the day before the trip I got a message back from when I asked for the pickup time, to say they wouldn't pick us up from our hotel at the end of the west coast and therefore our trip was cancelled. Maybe we could have been told this back in December and then I would have found a company who would have!!! To say , they also took the money from our account only two days before the trip, maybe that was also another opportunity to tell us they wouldn't take us. Very disappointed to not make it to Oistins tonight, even more so as it was for my husband's birthday today. Be aware if you are not on the list of hotels!Written February 9, 2024
- 961kgw0 contributionsTour not available or activeI literally emailed this company with the subject "Around the Island Tour" before visiting Barbados to inquire if they picked up from my resort. They replied they did and gave me their rate. I booked and paid for the tour. However, the night before I received a cancellation with a note "So sorry, that tour is not available". I wish I had not wasted my time with this company and gone with another that had more than 11 reviews. The last reviews written were over a YEAR ago! Maybe this tour listing should be removed from TripAdvisor, Viator, and anywhere else since it's not activeWritten October 15, 2023
- ashleycX6701EQ0 contributionsGood timeThis was a nice experience! The live entertainment (music and dance show) was great. They also had vendors/little shops as well. If you’re going to Pat’s Place you have to get there EARLY! The line is always long. I personally wasn’t too impressed with the fish options. I was hoping for a fried fish (with the head still on it and lots of flavors) but that wasn’t an available option at any of the shops. Other than that, it was a good time!Written September 25, 2023

- socatrini20190 contributionsFish Fish Fry LimeExcellent tour, our guide noticed I was ready to throw in the towel after fun activities and reached out to see if I wanted an earlier departure time. Will book again. Food was good, vibes was good, and the Rum Shop karaoke Singing was good.Written July 25, 2023
- davidmJ3644XC0 contributionsOISTENS FRIDAY FISH FRY A BARBADOS MUST!The choice of local food is fabulous. We tried Pats Bar, had to Q for a while but it was worthwhile. We had Flying Fish, Mahe Mahe, Jerk Wings, Grilled Potatoes and of course Macaroni Pie. With a few beers tool The place get busy on a Friday from 6pm onwards. There is a mixture of tourists and locals which makes for a great atmosphere. There is small stalls to shop at for local produce. Also lots of dancing by local artists. This is a great night out and very reasonably priced. A real taste of Barbados. Get a minibus @ 3.50 BBD from anywhere!Written June 16, 2023
- W9812NHrobynd0 contributionsAwe in BarbadosCleston, our guide, knew the island so well and accommodated for weather and busy times. He was professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him and A+ without reservation. Cleston wants you to have the best experience according to your interests. As for tours , the garden and wilderness nature walks were my favourite.Written May 25, 2023
- Mustafa O0 contributionsREAD THIS SHORT REVIEW CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BOOKI booked this tour well in advance of my visit to Barbados. I sent an email to them requesting confirmation of pick up place and time a week before the tour date. They had every opportunity to tell me that there was a risk of cancellation, but they did not respond. I sent another message a day before asking the same question. They sent a message informing me that they were cancelling the tour in the evening, the day before the tour. If you decide to book with this tour operator, make sure you have a contingency plan.Written April 16, 2023
- grassarena0 contributionsFantastic Overview of BarbadosCleston gave me and my two kids a great introductory tour of the island. I wanted to get an overview of the island beyond our resort and Cleston did a wonderful job of showing us all the highlights and informing us about Barbados and its people. Highly recommend this tour with APlus.Written April 14, 2023
- duppy07070 contributionsGoing back in colonial periodThe only reason why I gave it 5 stars was for the staffs. They are so friendly and professional. I was given great hospitality from Michelle and Elvis. Those friendly faces made it worthwhile. However for me as a person of colour I was was devastated at the amount of money you paid just to go on a small trip on a vintage train that was demonstrated by members of staff that made it so interesting was just not worth the hype as they keft out very importantparts of the historyof slavesry, which was not their fault of their own. I did not book but went there by foot and had to walk quiet a long way off a route to St Nicholas Abbey. I took the No.2 van from Spreights Town and they kindly showed us where to walk. I felt unsafe as there where no signspost. Not everyone drives and there was no one to pick us up. For the hefty price you pay,it should of been better. And mire helpful What I come to realised the the white own business in this prestige establishment is still suppressing people of colour. Not only do they work hard to promote this ex plantation colonial rum making factory of a huge mansion,it glorifies on the wealth of black slaves who would of worked to death and . probably died and buried somewhere underneath that rich and beautiful landscape. I refused to go into the house that was once owned by evil white slave owners, who now think because its generated jobs for the black people of barbados as a lamented gesture to feel better. The profit they are rakingup from this business is not going into those descent black workers pickets forrsurre. At the top of cherry tree are amazing craft work that's made from the people of barbados but they have to hustle so hard to make breadcrumbs from white visitors who do not spend a penny because of the hefty price they pay to go on a 5 minute trip turn 45 minutes. It's a double sword for the people of barbados who are of colour and the white man is still making millions of our history and slavery all over again. They don't mention anything about the true history off St Nicholas Abbey because I'm sure it wouldn't make any income to generate jobs for the black people who work hard to run this establishment. Thank you Elvis for the history of the beautiful mahogany trees loved that and showing us around the establishment where to use the gift shops and a place to sit and have a little refreshments. Thank you Michelle for your friendly welcome, you are a diamond and face people meet on there way in . They did tried to persuade me to go into the house ,however I had my own personal feelings why I wouldn't and as intriguing it sounded from Elvis and tempting I just couldn't. I was the only black person their too, and reflecting back on the day trip I could understand why.Written February 16, 2023

Hunte's Gardens are a truly beautiful and peaceful little oasis to experience. The flowers and plants are beautifully put together as works of art, and listening to the buzz of nature is spectacular. The owner Anthony is most welcoming and really great to spend some time to chat with him. Hunte's Gardens are a true delight, and look forward to visiting again and again.

Don't miss this place! It'a really enchanting. Anthony Hunte - the creator is also very hospitable and kind to offer refreshments and a piano (for those who want to perform a tune) in the old Castle Grant. If one day I go to Barbados again, I'll visit the gardens again.

We had a memorable visit to these gardens which are Magnificent. There are so many quiet corners where you can sit and drink in the atmosphere. Anthony has beautiful music playing throughout which does enhance the experience.
The whole visit is topped off by Anthony who is a generous host and is happy to answer any questions you may have. We spent a happy time in conversation with him after we had visited his gardens
I have never seen anything quite like these gardens which are clearly a labour of love for the owner. Can’t recommend them highly enough

We visited this garden one afternoon during our stay on Barbados, and it truly is extraordinary. The site itself is a fascinating geological feature, being bowl-shaped with steep sides, and set out with incredible attention to detail when it comes to the plants. The sheer number and variety are breathtaking, dramatic vibrant colours and ranging in size from the tiniest specimens to magnificent tall palms. Wandering this garden you can also enjoy the numerous little semi-concealed corners with tables and chairs, and of course end it all with a short climb up to the cafe for a cold drink and the chance to cool off. On our visit we were the only people there, and had a wonderful and engaging hour or so chatting to Antony Hunte, who has spent years carefully constructing and designing this remarkable place. Certainly an afternoon to remember.

We drove to Hunt's Gardens in our rental car and had a beautiful day. The entry fee is about $20 USD per adult and you can sit there all day with a book, and a picnic lunch and just look and listen to the classical music. The garden is in a perfect gully that protects all the plants and palm trees from inclement weather. It is like Eden. Bring your camera and take your time - you will not find another space this beautiful often.

Visited Hunte’s Garden earlier today, to say this place is pure paradise does not do it justice. The gardens are out of this world and to sit and chat which Anthony Hunte who created it just makes to visit more pleasurable, I could sit there and chat with him all day he is so engaging. Thanks Anthony it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know your story and to visit your beautiful creation.

A magical place. The gardens are exceptional and planting exquisite. We were advised this was a top thing to do whilst in Barbados and were not disappointed. We were greeted by the owner, Anthony Hunte, and he explained how he has spent decades creating his beautiful garden. We were in awe. Wondering around the garden with calm soothing music playing was just the ultimate indulgence in a relaxing morning. We joined Anthony later in his house and enjoyed a lovely carrot cake and drinks. We even had a taster of Hunte’s Gardens rum! We are planning a re-visit with our son in a couple of weeks.

A very beautiful garden, one of the finest in the world. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hunte again, creator of the garden. I spent the morning painting some watercolours and we spent time talking to him about the plants. Very special visit and highly recommended!

The photographs and descriptions could not possibly do these “gardens” the justice they deserve. An absolute must and quite unique experience if you possibly can while on the island of Barbados.
The visit really transports you to another place - the vibrant colours music and emersion is quite mesmerising and I cannot recommend highly enough. The magnificent cakes and attention at the tearooms and house plus the presence of the talented great man himself all made our trip even more memorable.

How much extra would it cost for hotel pick-up and drop off? We are staying at Cobblers Cove.

Last time in Barbados I hired a cab with driver for a whole day of sight seeing for one hundred dollars American
If you are into gardening do Huntes,Andromeda and Orchid World It will take a day plus Harrison’s cave is worth a visit.
Cobblers Cove to Huntes return I guess 50 dollars.
