He explained a number of the traditions and occupations of the citizens. We missed the Vikinf house museum. Didn't realize there was one until we were back at the dock. He took us to a great place for lunch. Beautiful setting and food was excellent. Coffee bar we stopped at was.also very good in late morning. Overall,a very good tour.Written July 31, 2024

Our guide, Erik, was really excellent and shared a lot of great stories and information with us. - Survey540 contributionsPerfect tour in the Lofoten IslandsWe had been corresponding with the delightful Eleanora at Lofoten Lights for about 12 months prior to our tour. We had requested a 14 seater minivan and it was there when we arrived at the dock. Laura de Mauro was our excellent guide and Stale Gjerstad was our very careful and most obliging driver. Our tour left from the cruise ship wharf at Leknes and several stops were made on the islands of Vestvagoy, Flakstadoya and Moskenespoya, all connected by either bridge or tunnel, on our way south to the end-of-the-road town of Å (pronounced “oh”), which is mainly a fishing museum. “Oh!!” was indeed our reaction to the wonderful and unique scenery. One highlight of the tour was the views from the town of Reine – mountains and buildings with a perfect reflection. We stopped off for a late lunch at the incomparable Anita’s Seafood (not included in the tour price). Not on the tour but at our driver’s insistence to show us something extra we popped in to his home town, the fishing village of Ballstad, to savour Norway’s brown cheese delicacy (own cost), and then on the way back to the port we detoured to view the wooden Buksnes Kirke, built in 1905. Cost of the tour for us was 1250 NOK each, plus an unsolicited and voluntary tip to both guide and driver, which they thoroughly deserved. We would definitely use this company again for another tour in the magical Lofoten Islands.Written October 30, 2023
- davehill0070 contributionsExcellent service …Good 5 hours out to see some of the Lofoten islands. Very nice guides and informative narrative was just right for us.Written October 29, 2023
- B0bNM0 contributionsSpectacular day in Lofoten IslandsWe had a fantastic day with Lofoten Lights on Oct. 13th. We were part of a group from the Island Princess cruise ship. The bus arrived at the pier early so we could wait in the warmth of the bus before the guide arrived. Our guide, Laura, was the best! She gave us a lot of information about the sights and the way of life in Norway. We visited 3 different islands and passed through numerous tunnels and bridges. We were blessed to have perfect weather. The lighting made for spectacular scenery everywhere we looked. At each place, Laura gave us plenty of time to take photographs. It never felt rushed. This tour and this day turned out to be the highlight of the cruise. Thank you for a wonderful memory!Written October 22, 2023
- robertjL4603SV0 contributionsDeceptively AdvertisedWe booked this tour as opposed to one through the cruise line, because we were led to believe there would be fewer guests than on a typical cruise ship tour with a tour bus filled like a cattle car. Although it was advertised as having a “maximum of 36 guests,” it actually was a full-size tour bus with 50+ passengers. Had we known the truth in advance, we would not have booked. I would recommend avoiding this company (Lofoten Lights) due to their deceptive advertising.Written October 14, 2023
- Dream040831405240 contributionsepic views and an excellent guideThe tour was simply wonderful. We've seen parts of the archipelago that we couldn't have visited on our own, since we have no car. Even by car it took 2 hours to get to the southwestern islands on Lofoten. What made the tour even more worthwhile was the guide Erik, who knew how to tell a story - from historical and political background information to personal anecdotes. He could also give some advice on how to get the best photos. Can recommend!Written October 9, 2023
- 559julit0 contributionsPhoto Mania in the beautiful Lofoten Islands! We went all day on a photography trip with Erik the Amazing and he took us to so many great spots to take fantastic photos. Erik lives on the islands so we also learned so much about the local culture and what it's like to live year round above the Arctic Circle. Fascinating. This tour was worth every penny!Written September 19, 2023

Just returned from the Lofoten Islands. Extremely challenging weather even for the locals (I understand). Had two trips with Lofoten Lights - the Northern Lights Chase and the 5 hour island tour. Eric was our guide on both occasions. He was an excellent, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. On the Northern Lights trip he took some great shots for us and I would recommend him as a guide to any visitor.

Svolvaer, December 11, 2022. Maurizio is our guide who knows how to make customers in a good mood. If he is your guide for any tours (not only the northern light) don't dare ask him what his cat was doing in Germany. His cat's story really made my day. Book now and request Maurizio to be your guide. The most remarkable guide who I met during my second time visiting Norway.

Glad we took this guided tour because we have never driven in snow and it’s so dark. The weather was constantly changing and they know if we should wait or move to the next location.
Also, they know where to take you so that you don’t need to waste your time figuring out your map if you only have a short stay at Svolvær.

We did the evening northern light tour with Maurizio. His knowledge of the best places to go to see the lights with amazing scenery was exceptional. There are no guarantees of seeing anything as we his is all about nature doing its thing. But if there nature is kind and putting on a show Maurizio knows where to go to see it.
He explained what the best camera setting are. It's the first time I'd moved my dials off auto and he was patient and helpful. I got a couple of shots I wouldn't have got otherwise. Other people in my ur group were more experienced and got some marvellous shots.
Even if you are not a whizz with a camera this is a great tour to go and watch the lights and admire the beauty.

If you haven´t seen Aurora Borealis aka Northern light yet. Don´t miss out. Lofoten is the place to see it. Best between sept and mars. I myself have had the best experience in nov-jan because of the darkness around. I highly recommend this. It´s really spectacular not comparable with something else.

Although my tour was rescheduled, the Northern Lights Tour with Nicoletta was definitely, one of the most amazing experiences I have had. Not only did she try to get us to the best place to see them, she also helped us set up our camera to capture the lights properly and even took our photos. Thank you!
General comments about the tour: the Lofoten Lights office is at the center of Svolvaer so it's easy to find them, communication prior to the tour is prompt and clear, pick up was on time, guides are very knowledgeable, overall a great tour!

Maurizo and his wife showed us some beautiful spots for photographing the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not willing on this evening to delight us with this kind of experience. But at least be got some nice pictures of the Lofoten at night whereas Maurizo helped us with the settings on the camera.

Maurizio showed us on a wonderful tour of the area near Svolvaer in Lofoten. He knows the best places to go to create beautiful photos. Our Northern Lights tour was incredible, and Maurizio took great photos of us with the Aurora to remember our trip.

I am hoping to visit in February with my wife if travel restrictions are lifted. On the tour is it possible to have our picture taken with the northern lights if they appear?
Thanks,

Hi there,
I am travelling to Lofoten in late September, I would like to know if the chances are high to see the Northern lights this period. And if so, where should we stay so that we can engage your service to watch the northern nights?
Written July 30, 2019
Hi Audrey,
I apologize late reply.
I have sent you a message. I hope you have received it.
Yes, we open the season in September. We usually pick the guests up (and drop them off) in Svolvær, at the hotel booked.
I really hope I was helpful.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
have a ice day,
Claudia

Hello, we are 4 and we'll arrive in Svolvaer the 8th of February. We stay there until the 11th of February . We are very interested to see Northern Lights with a guide. We have some questions before booking. If the excursion is canceled because of the weather, do you pay back ? Is it possible to come the night after if the excursion is canceled the day we booked (if the weather is ok of course)? Thank you for your answers.
Written January 24, 2019
Good evening,
thanks a lot for your inquiry and Interest.
Yes sure, when the weather is bad there are
2 options:
1) we try another day if possible,
2) we give full refund.
Thanking you in advance,
best regards,
Claudia

Hi, will you be able to provide transport for your customers (2 people) staying at Å Rorbuer in December?
Written December 2, 2018
Good morning,
unfortunately Å is too far from Svolvær, and especially in winter, when it's dark and the weather more challenging, we don't provide it. I'm sorry for not being helpfull.
Best regards,
Claudia
