About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- teeee860 contributionsTraumatic experience. This tour needs an emergency procedure planI cannot explain how bad this tour was, after 5 hours of kayaking heading back looked like a big storm coming. Instead of taking shelter at the information centre, our tour guide (jan) thought it would be a good idea to out paddle the storm. When it was tooo late we were in the middle of the lake with waves bigger than the kayak, hail lightning and water tornadoes which did capsize a kayak they were in the water crying, and our tour guide was no where to be seen, felt like it was everyone for them self. Than we had to take shelter in dense bushland in the hail rain and lightning for an hour freezing. They said we could not walk back, but no one wanted to get back in the water. It was because they didn’t want to leave the kayaks there, they would rather traumatised people get back in the stormy waters. After having no choice but to kayak back we were getting swept out again with tour guides no where in site to help. They need to review there emergency procedures as this was far from ok.Written October 12, 2024
- scottharrington20050 contributionsGreat family experience half day Everglades guided tourMy wife, teenage daughter and myself did a half day guided Everglades kayak tour. We had a large group 16 with variable experience in paddling however the guides were knowledgeable and professional and helped us all to get there and back. The trip itself was beautiful and not too challenging for non paddlers. The half way point brought us to a pre prepared morning tea which was very generous and a welcome break. Overall we loved the experience and had great funWritten October 5, 2024
- justinfB5017KQ0 contributionsBrilliant experienceWe first did this tour in December 2023 and loved it so much we came back for a second go - and it will not be our last! Terrific guides, stunning views, great lunch. The river is breath-taking, and the sea-kayaks are the perfect way to explore it. A superbly run tour.Written September 15, 2024
- carin20180 contributionsInclusive and excellentWe went on a one day guided kanu trip in the Everglades with Josh and Leisal. They were excellent, always aware of which participants needed extra help, patient and responsible. My husband has mobility issues and Josh was brilliant. We went on a dummy-run with him the week before to check that my husband could get in and out of the kanu (he could with help) and was comfortable. Josh made it clear that everyone was valued and equal, regardless of circumstance or experience. Highly recommend. CarinWritten August 26, 2024
- Cathy H0 contributionsVery impressive customer serviceWe when we called Kanu Kapers, they were unable to provide the service that we needed on the day that we had available. However, the staff member continued to be very friendly, relaxed and helpful. He pointed at us in the right direction. Very impressive customer service!Written August 5, 2024
- B2340GRmariannef0 contributionsA brilliant kayaking experience. We had an amazing kayaking experience with Liesl and Jan. It was just so peaceful and we loved every minute of it. We liked the fact that our guides had a great knowledge of the area. They were also very accommodating to everyone in the group and checked in with everyone. The lunch was an absolute feast. The weather was also great.Written July 20, 2024
- E6534HLsophief0 contributionsPeaceful paradiseI went on this trip with my siblings and in-laws after my parents had recommended it and we absolutely loved it! The tour guides, Jan and Liesl were super friendly and attentive to the group's needs and energy levels. Morning tea and lunch were delicious and we saw lots of interesting wildlife like azure kingfishers and goannas. Thank you so much for a wonderfully peaceful and rejuvenating opportunity to reconnect with the beautiful nature.Written July 20, 2024
- 421stephenz0 contributionsFantastic tourWhat an amazing day kayaking with Liesl. He was patient, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. He made the day a great success for my family (helped out my younger daughter to kayak). The lunch spread was incredible. We had a great day and highly recommend this tour.Written July 15, 2024
- 19_TonyN_580 contributionsLocation, experience and professionalismThis guided full day tour lived up to the expectations. We were fortunate to have calm and cooler conditions but the experience was wonderful. Jan was a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. He managed to ensure all in the group felt comfortable. The highlight of the provided lunch would have to be the freshly brewed coffee, whilst the highlight of the kayaking was the serenity and natural beauty of the Noosa Everglades.Written June 28, 2024

Both Belinda + Jan offered so much knowledge and guidance, the canoes were awesome, our lunch was delicious and the Everglades were truly enchanting. We came home sunkissed + smiling. - Simona D0 contributionsWonderful guided kayak tour in the Noosa EvergladesI had a lovely day kayaking in the Noosa Everglades on the 1-day guided tour! The scenery was stunning, our guides very friendly and told us many interesting things on the surrounding environments and animals. The tour also included swimming in the river and a delicious lunch in the bush. The tour is quite long so a medium level of fitness is required, but the views will reward you. This was the highlight of my trip in Noosa and I totally recommend it!Written February 2, 2024
- jackhE6569SB0 contributionsGliding through the evergladesWe spent a fantastic time kayaking down the Everglades on the national Holiday weekend. Such a unique experience and something we’d definitely do again if in the area. Apart from the unique views, highlights were the swim halfway which really cooled us off, the info shared by the guides (we didn’t really know anything about what the Everglades were) and the lovely lunch we were served which was excellent and very much needed!Written January 28, 2024
- Erik K0 contributionsHighly recommended tour with Kanu KaspersThe best way to experience the natural beauty of the Noosa Everglades is from the water. I went on the guided kayak tour with Kanu Kaspers and I definitely would do it again. But I guess I would like to do the 3 day self guided camping trip next time. So I would have the chance to kayak longer and see more of the Noosa Everglades. The two tour guides were great introducing everyone to the kayaks and later they had lots of interesting information about the nature and other points of interest. The kayaks were very high standard sit in kayaks and it was very much fun kayaking with them. The nature is stunning and you really should do both short walks on the two stopps. Only make sure to wear your shoes on them- The lunch was also very good an they had a big variety of toppings for you sandwhich. Also the salads were very tasty. Look out for the goanna who might hang around the picknick ground.Written January 26, 2024

We had a great time exploring the Everglades ourselves on kayaks with our two children aged 8 and 10.
Jan, who met us to give us our safety briefing and geared us up was truly welcoming and gave us all the info we needed to explore this beautiful area ourselves. Highly recommend getting out of Noosa and heading to the magical Everglades!
We had quite a bit of wind which made the journey across Lake Cootharaba challenging (even more so on the route back!) But it did not deter us. Once we made it into Fig Tree lake, we were well secluded and enjoyed paddling around. We stopped at Fig Tree Point for some morning tea and did the short Maleleuca circuit track (maybe 20 minute round walk). We carried on and ventured up into the Narrows which was extremely peaceful and beautiful.
I would say you need a medium level of fitness to explore by yourselves, especially if the wind is up!

Hi Natalie
We are delighted you and your children enjoyed kayaking the Everglades with us. Our kayaks are designed to safely and comfortably paddle the entire Everglades system and lake Cootharaba is a very special part of this.
We agree the narrows are peaceful and beautiful too!
Thank you for your review and very kind words.
Kind regards

We were staying up at the Glass house Mountains and I booked the full day self guided tour after some very quick discussions with my better half. When the time came to go on the tour, it suddenly dawned on my wife that this was 7 hours in a kayak. She had some significant reservations right up until we paddled out. After the first stop to look at some Pelicans and a small snack at the information session, my wife had a completely revised opinion of the experience. We stayed out all day, listened and saw some of the most amazing bird life and had a wonderful experience. Chris from Kanu Capers gave us a fantastic brief before we went and we knew if it all turned to custard he would assist. A truely wonderful experience.

Hi Raymond
We are stoked you and your wife had such an awesome day kayaking the Everglades! Although the experience is 8.30-3.00pm, as you say its broken up with picnics, snacks, swims, wildlife viewing and even a small bushwalk with approx 3.5 hrs actual paddling.
We look forward to seeing you again perhaps on a multi day experience.
Kind regards

Somewhat hard to rate the experience as we were hit by an unexpected storm while out on the lake, so I recommend checking weather forecasts if one is at all concerned about being out on the lake in non-optimal conditions. What was a very calm day turned into a rather exciting trip with pretty extreme weather and difficult windy conditions. I would say that normally the experience is rather relaxing. I can say that Kanu Kapers gets an A+ for ensuring the safety of participants and making sure they get back to their accomodations.

when ever we get to Noosa, we always love to kayak the Noosa Everglades with Kanu Kapers.
It is a fantastic day out in nature. Amazing scenery and getting a bit of exercise at the same time.
Having done lots of kayaking I can recommend Kanu Kapers for a number of reasons:
Their kayaks are extremely comfortable, stable and have one of the best rudder system for ease of use. All of the equipment supplied is in tip top condition. Staff are great and helpful and give a great demo on arrival and hand out maps for navigation.
This time we did the self guided one day trip from the lake to Harrys hut. Plenty of time for swims in the river of mirrors and what better way to see another side of the Noosa area sustainably.
Thanks again Kanu Kapers for another great day and we will be back

What a wonderful experience, such a beautiful location, the mirror effect of the smooth water was truly amazing also lots of variety with the lake, the rivers, sub-tropical rainforest. To top this off the lunch was delicious and in a lovely grassy area. The guide was friendly and encouraging, making this one of the best kayaking days out I've been on.

This was a great way for our family of 4 to explore the Everglades from the water at our own pace. We were met by Chris at the kayak launch point where we were given all the equipment and information we needed for the day ahead. The lake was smooth for the paddle north and by mid morning we were in the upper Noosa River. The scenery is beautiful with mirror-like reflections and lots of birdlife. We returned to Fig Tree Point for lunch and a swim, before paddling back to the launch point. The lake was quite choppy heading home but we had a tailwind which helped a lot. Take lots of water and make sure you reapply sunscreen to avoid getting sunburnt. Definitely a highlight of our holiday in Noosa.

We had a fabulous time on our Everglades kayaking tour. The views are fantastic, we spotted lots of wildlife, the kayaks are in great condition and the esky and dry bag were very useful. We made it up to Harry's hut and back again which is very doable in the time given if you are prepared to spend most of your day paddling. Jan's kayaking demonstration and information about the route was excellent and prepared us well. Just try to arrange a lift with the company or fellow kayakers if you don't have your own transport because a taxi from Noosa is very expensive.

I’d never heard of the Noosa Everglades! We were keen to do some kayaking during our short stay on the Sunny Coast and so glad we decided to go with Kanu Kapers. The starting point is midway on the lake so you have a little less paddle time across the lake. The Everglades area in the narrows is spectacular. The team were super efficient and friendly! We had enough time to go all the way to Harry’s Hut. Whilst not isolated you can still get away from the crowds and enjoy the tranquility! Great day - whole family loved it!

Kanu Kapers kayaking adventures are Absolutely Amazing! A must do !
The staff were unbelievable, so accommodating, fun and extremely professional with a huge amount of knowledge and tips.
The kayaking was the most relaxing and beautiful way to explore Lake Cootharaba, a trip to the visitors information centre, the everglades and beyond.
Fantastic lunch spot at Fig Tree Point with amenities, and the Noosa River is stunning.
The kayaks were so stable, even a non kayaker would feel comfortable, it was like gliding on glass as there was no wind on the lake.
Thanks to Kanu Kapers for taking us out on such a wonderful adventure !

Very pretty tour with very good boats that easily make speed, which is quite important because the most beautiful parts are a little further away. The guide gave a very clear explanation, and the map was very self explanatory.
It is the best way to explore the everglades!
