Just got back after an exhausting day, glimpses of beauty but wouldn’t go back to the islands or tour with this company again. National Park - more like theme park, especially the queues and being shepherded around. A shame because the staff were superb, knowledgeable and energetic. 05:50 pick up at hotel in Phuket, returned at 19:45, we spent 4.5 hours being bounced around in a cramped minibus, 2.5 hours being bounced around in a cramped tour boat and got a couple of short swims and 45 minutes on a nice beach. The islands are saturated with mass tourism, and I regret going. Pictures are misleading, showing them to be quiet, with only one boat in view. There were 38 guests and around 8 crew on our boat, and on one beach there were 12 tour boats, so probably 450-500 people following a similar rushed itinerary with no space to sit on the beach or in the picnic areas. Beware considering going if your are not fit and able bodied, getting in/off the boat from the beach while it surges around in the surf/swell is difficult, the bouncy journey will also harm your back if it’s not 100% On the plus side we were well fed and watered throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner (Thai style) and plenty of snacks on board including ice cream. On reflection however, perhaps filling stomachs moments before embarking on a rough passage, in a crowded boat that smelt of petrol explained the offer of anti sickness tablets - but it was too little too late for several on our boats and plastic bags (supplied) were made use of. It would be a dream if the visit was as pictured in the leaflets, but unfortunately it remains a dream.

The program given to us was not followed. We could only get off the boat at one island. We spent about 3-4 hours on one island and approached the other 2 islands to take photos on the boat, and approached the remaining island for diving. Sea conditions were used as an excuse, but later we learned that different companies had been able to go to other islands. In addition, after purchasing the tour package, although we preferred vegetarian food, the food given included chicken, seafood, etc. The food of other companies seemed much cleaner, more hygienic and nice. The reason I chose this company was because it had a high score and the boat was a large boat with a row seating arrangement. However, the boat given to us was no different from the other companies. Although we came to the port from Phuket with our own means, the price we paid was very high. The island is definitely very beautiful, but unfortunately we could not enjoy it. If the boat is motionless, never choose these small boats where you sit very tightly.

In overall, it was a nice trip with reasonable breakfast and snacks (ice cream, cookies, watermelon). They also offer fast remedies for jelly fish sting allergies. For future visitors' reference, it's NOT a luxury trip with cruise-like offerings. It's just a speedboat, ~20-30ish customers on each boat and 3-4 staff members, and restroom is only for emergency use on diarrhea. To be fair, it's a decent average trip on the base of $100/people. On top of that, location 1 is beautiful on the beach and swimming areas. We enjoyed the most among the 4 spots (other 3 are for snorkeling). The 2nd spot is ok, 3rd spot has too many jelly fish and water is muddy, 4th spot is slightly better than 2nd. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, I won't say it's delicious but it is clean and reasonable. If you can, I would recommend to have your breakfast in your hotel (if comes with your bookings) before you leave for the pier for theirs.

The whole experience was a lot of fun and we were looked after beautifully by the staff both before ,after and during the trip . The coconut ice cream really hit the spot after getting back on the boat after snorkelling and the view from the rock on Island 4 was well worth the climb . One of the best day trips I’ve done .

Fantastic day trip out to the Surin islands with wow. Really well organized and very friendly guides. The breakfast at the start of the trip was great with plenty of choice. There are a couple of good shops there, so if you have forgotten anything or would like to buy something like a waterproof bag you can do in the shop and the prices are OK. The trip itself was amazing and our guide found, fantastic places to snorkel as soon as you jump in the water you are surrounded by bright and beautiful, coral, and fish. You snorkel in each place for about half an hour and the trips to the village and the national park to eat. Lunch were also great. It is a very long boat ride out but the speed boats are pretty comfy and the staff on board are really nice , there are plenty of refreshments also.

Trip booked through our hotel, and it really was WOW. Private longboat, snorkeling experience. Very well organised, food lively, team amazingly helpful. I'm not a confident swimmer in deep water and none of the family have ever tried snorkeling. A magical day, highly recommend

We had a great trip to the Similan islands - the staff were very friendly and helpful. The boat was busy and packed full but the rest of the trip was beautiful and we experienced lots of snorkelling and exploring of some of the islands. The scenery is spectacular!

Great day trip to James bond island. Our driver "MR O" was the highlight of our trip to Thailand and had me and my family in hysterics. Lovely man who showed us lots of history of Khao lak. We also loved our tour guide on our boat trip. James bond island was beautiful and wasn't too busy. Highly recommend

Wow Andaman was managing the whole package extremely well. Mr. Chang was our guide and I want to send my warmest thanks to him. Similan is unbelievably beautiful and we even saw a sea turtle while snorkeling. Food offering was good and for sure enough (2 lunch boxes per person, breakfast and even a dinner). Highly recommended.

We’ve been on many snorkelling trips and this one is in the best for seeing many different types of fish, there are 3 snorkelling stops, but they are very busy as there are 4/5 boats stopped at each place at the same time, so you did have to very careful not to bump into people, the sea was also choppy and tidel in parts so the boats put a rope out to keep you within the safe area. Lunch was disappointing, a bit like a sloppy canteen affair, with fruit afterwards and you had to put your dirty plates and leftovers into a really not very pleasant slops bin 😬 however the beach area was very nice and pleasant to swim in for an hour. Be aware that it is a 2 hour speed boat ride each way to the surin islands from Khao Lak, the boat travels quickly and anyone with back problems may have issues, and the sea is choppy, sea sickness bags are handed out at the beginning but fortunately we did not need them.

Our day trip was organised by our hotel. We found the boat crew to be very helpful and friendly. Snacks, ice cream and drinks on the boat were plentiful. The snorkelling experience was outstanding. The National Park is very beautiful. The trip was let down by poor quality of food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, we did not try the dinner offering as we were informed by the hosts that we had to be back on our transfer coach by 17.45, which allowed us only 5 minutes to eat. We were then kept waiting for 30 minutes by other guests who were sharing the transport, who ignored the transfer time and sat down to eat .. Poor organisation and information , followed by lack of management of guests. A very disappointing end to an otherwise good trip

Not worth the time and the cost. If you are in Phuket, then it takes two hours in the van to get to the pier and then another two on the boat to the island. Boat seats are located low, under the windows, so no view at all. This was our 3rd tour in Thailand - so many beautiful islands to see and to snorkel so much closer! Also, it was large group, over 30 people on the boat. Several boats arrived at the same places at the same time, so expect crowd. The team was great and the food was fine. I just would like to be informed before the tour that it is over 4 hours one way. Then we would not choose this particular tour.

We actually were able to book a private tour with our small group. Our local guide called the company and arranged for the smaller privat group. They picked us up at our hotel, we met at the boat at the port and from the minute we arrived to the time they dropped us off in the afternoon, it was amazing. The boat was clean and very fast. The crew friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the Similan Islands. The beaches were powdery soft and the water so clear and so many colors of blue. On our way back to the port, one of the crew members saw a whale and the captain turned the boat to follow the whale for a bit so we could get a better look. Wow Andaman was fantastic.

Would not recommend. In addition to very crowded boat conditions, and unsanitary food service, one of the guides actually corralled a turtle! A poor example of stewardship when they have such a powerful opportunity to lead by example; caring for the ocean and all life in it. In one spot, the bay was full of plastic floating in the water. Did they educate and grab some of it for their trash? No. We did. Carrying handfuls back to the boat. Plus, there are no fish identification cards on the boat, no talk of what we might see or what was seen How come?Thank goodness the Similan Islands get an annual few months rest from vendors like this — and all humans. It still may not be enough to protect them. The almighty baht is driving this show.
