About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- melanie_04090 contributionsGreat tour guides, disappointed in islandsTour itself is highly organized and the staff was remarkable. Shoutout to Thee for going above and beyond. I took off one star because we stopped at several locations, but the longest stop was the worst one. It was Donald Duck Bay and we spent two hours there. Unfortunately the sea is full of coral so you can’t swim, and the beach is littered with trash. It’s also very busy with TONS of tourists and I found it disappointing. The first stop Beach was amaaazing and would’ve loved to stay there longest. The other spots were for snorkeling but they let us jump in off the boat and swim if we didn’t want to snorkel. The journey is LONG. Two hours ride to pier depending on where your hotel is at. 1 hr at the pier where they provide a wonderful breakfast. And then 1.15hr on speedboat. Take your Dramamine. Our captain was awesome, but of course you will encounter some chop along the way.Written May 8, 2024
- 864gianinae0 contributionsGreat all day tripThe activities and places we visited were amazing! We were very happy with the experience, we knew in advance that it was low tide season, so just the visit to island n. 4 was challenging but other than it was a lovely experience.Written May 5, 2024
- Tbinozz0 contributionsBeautiful trip to the Surin Islands with WOW. Very well organizedFantastic day trip out to the Surin islands with wow. Really well organized and very friendly guides. The breakfast at the start of the trip was great with plenty of choice. There are a couple of good shops there, so if you have forgotten anything or would like to buy something like a waterproof bag you can do in the shop and the prices are OK. The trip itself was amazing and our guide found, fantastic places to snorkel as soon as you jump in the water you are surrounded by bright and beautiful, coral, and fish. You snorkel in each place for about half an hour and the trips to the village and the national park to eat. Lunch were also great. It is a very long boat ride out but the speed boats are pretty comfy and the staff on board are really nice , there are plenty of refreshments also.Written April 12, 2024
- C4691QBdawnw0 contributionsLongboat trip and snorkelingTrip booked through our hotel, and it really was WOW. Private longboat, snorkeling experience. Very well organised, food lively, team amazingly helpful. I'm not a confident swimmer in deep water and none of the family have ever tried snorkeling. A magical day, highly recommendWritten April 10, 2024
- TraceyandElla0 contributionsLovely tripWent from hotel in Koh Lak which was handy, speedboat great, v fast and bumpy, they give out sick bags and tablets at the beginning and you wear a life jacket all the time on the boat. Lots of good snorkelling and nice stop on first island-could have stayed there all day. Second beach stop got packed lunch which was cold fried chicken, rice, fish stir fry and prawns, the fruit was nice though! Only a limited area to swim in and was like people soup, too hot to climb to sail rock but some people did and said was lovely view. Nice ice creams and fruit on board. Food at end of day biggest disappointment- brochure said traditional Thai meal. It was literally a drumstick with rice in a plastic container and a few jelly sweets. We complained and only got 5% off the overal price! Nice day but good not up to much xWritten March 9, 2024
- 57otist0 contributions10/10!Great day trip to James bond island. Our driver "MR O" was the highlight of our trip to Thailand and had me and my family in hysterics. Lovely man who showed us lots of history of Khao lak. We also loved our tour guide on our boat trip. James bond island was beautiful and wasn't too busy. Highly recommendWritten March 5, 2024
- Alison B0 contributionsGood trip but a long wayWe’ve been on many snorkelling trips and this one is in the best for seeing many different types of fish, there are 3 snorkelling stops, but they are very busy as there are 4/5 boats stopped at each place at the same time, so you did have to very careful not to bump into people, the sea was also choppy and tidel in parts so the boats put a rope out to keep you within the safe area. Lunch was disappointing, a bit like a sloppy canteen affair, with fruit afterwards and you had to put your dirty plates and leftovers into a really not very pleasant slops bin 😬 however the beach area was very nice and pleasant to swim in for an hour. Be aware that it is a 2 hour speed boat ride each way to the surin islands from Khao Lak, the boat travels quickly and anyone with back problems may have issues, and the sea is choppy, sea sickness bags are handed out at the beginning but fortunately we did not need them.Written February 27, 2024

- Happiness315152559640 contributionsBeautiful National ParkOur day trip was organised by our hotel. We found the boat crew to be very helpful and friendly. Snacks, ice cream and drinks on the boat were plentiful. The snorkelling experience was outstanding. The National Park is very beautiful. The trip was let down by poor quality of food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, we did not try the dinner offering as we were informed by the hosts that we had to be back on our transfer coach by 17.45, which allowed us only 5 minutes to eat. We were then kept waiting for 30 minutes by other guests who were sharing the transport, who ignored the transfer time and sat down to eat .. Poor organisation and information , followed by lack of management of guests. A very disappointing end to an otherwise good tripWritten February 21, 2024
- 991natalyan0 contributionsOver 4 hours to get there-not expected. Not worth the time and the cost. If you are in Phuket, then it takes two hours in the van to get to the pier and then another two on the boat to the island. Boat seats are located low, under the windows, so no view at all. This was our 3rd tour in Thailand - so many beautiful islands to see and to snorkel so much closer! Also, it was large group, over 30 people on the boat. Several boats arrived at the same places at the same time, so expect crowd. The team was great and the food was fine. I just would like to be informed before the tour that it is over 4 hours one way. Then we would not choose this particular tour.Written February 14, 2024
- Harshna K0 contributionsLoved it ❤️Absolute value for money! Amazing tour experience Staff very friendly and helpful Very well organised tour Pick up was offered which was great but it was a long drive and the driver was speeding, nevertheless I was able to sleep during the drive. The Wow Andaman private pier is amazing - lovely buffet breakfast provided, there are toilets and showers ( not the greatest but still available) The beaches we visited were amazing and the snorkeling spots were great. We had enough time to enjoy these spots. Puu was our guide and he was great. The prepacked lunch provided on the island was great. Between each activity you are offered cold beverages, snacks and ice-cream on-board. There is a toilet on the boat, which is amazing as the trip out is about 90mins. When you get back to the pier they have a buffet prepared which was very good. The only negative I suppose is that the boat is a bit cramped with everyone seated on either side facing each other so you can't really take in the scenery. Overall it was an amazing experience, well worth the cost. I would definitely book with WOW Andaman again.Written February 10, 2024
- georged0180 contributionsGreat but Long and bumby boat rideThe tour itself was great, snorkeling was excellent and so many fish to see. My only disappointment is travelling 4hrs for 1.5hrs of snorkeling as this is advertised as a snorkeling tour. Would have been great to miss the fishing village and to do extra snorkeling. Also the 2hr boat ride is very bumpy and taxing on the body so people need to be aware of this. We had a few people who ended up with sea sickness. I have been on a few boat tours and this was worse than normal. On the plus side the staff were fantastic and very accommodating and happily assisted to any requirements.Written January 20, 2024
- David G0 contributionsAll I can say is Wow!!Excellent adventure. The islands are pristine and less crowded than Phi Phi. The water was crystal clear, the coral is healthy, and the fish abundant. Some of the islands are better than others. Wow Andaman made the day Supreme. Excellent service. A must-do tour for the snorkelers in the group. The boat trip is long, but comfortable enough.Written January 5, 2024
- khrungthep0 contributionsStunning Similan TourMr. Tee and crew took us on a 9 hour tour through the Similan Islands, and it was amazing. Our family of five cost $470, which included pick up/drop off, 3 meals, snacks and drinks, snorkel set, towels, insurance and national park fees. Such great value. The crew was so friendly and their love for the sea and islands shows. We will definitely go again.Written January 1, 2024
- 13jadej0 contributionsGreat trip, nice boat and pier!We did the Similan islands day trip, the weather wasn’t great and the boat trip pretty traumatic but the staff and the company do everything they can to make it as comfortable as possible. Seasickness tablets, sick bags given out just in case, staff took care of anyone that was unwell. They really thought of everything breakfast was at the pier, dinner on one of the islands (I would say though I wasn’t expecting so much trash on the island the boat companies need to club together to sort something as it really ruins the vibe, trash all around the tables, other boat companies dinner leftovers just left on the tables you have to sit at), ice creams on the boat and even food back at the pier again. The staff were great and really funny islands beautiful, snorking was amazing!! If you’re seasick beware.Written December 26, 2023

Boat was very cramped, long ride with fuel fumes and the whole way was banging on the sea. People at front had to be moved to the back and sat on the floor.
Island beautiful when we first arrived but within a short time was crawling with people. Food average, toilets messy. Coral not great, mostly dead because it has been touched all the time. Beach nice but packed. Maybe the day we went was rougher than usual but personally would not recommend from our experience. We went in April 2016 so may have improved.

I want to share that this was the best snorkeling experience of my life. Our guide Arty was absolutely amazing, he took us in the water and showed us where to look for the most amazing fish in the world! The whole staff provided excellent service. My son and I took this tour together, it was a full day experience. We stayed at Kamala Beach, Phuket and was provided transportation to the excursion. Three full meals were provided to us along with refreshments of drinks and snacks throughout. The beauty of the experience is hard to put into words. I most highly recommend this company and this excursion. Our excursion was actually on Jan 28, 2019.

Similan is freaking beautiful. However the tour boat was so over crowded. Like sardines in a tin can. No space to store belongings or try keep your towel dry. Constantly getting bumped. Brekky and lunch were awful. The best thing was the coconut ice cream. Crew were nice enough. I wouldn't recommend this tour to someone and would say get on a boat with less people (20max) and a better seating arrangement

Dear joelspeechly
Thanks for you review and comments. This is a join trip to Similan Island on a 1 hour speed boat ride per way. If the sea conditions are rough, it can be bumpy that is true. I think a private trip woul be more suitable if you need more comfort during the ride.

Fantastic tour to the Similan Islands! Although the price is slightly higher than other tour companies, EVERYTHING is included. But most importantly, the staff are excellent, with special mention for Arty who goes above and beyond to ensure that all the guests are happy. He participates in all the snorkeling, showing the best sites.
What I would say however, is that if you have the possibility of staying in Khao Lak for the pick up, you will save yourself a 2 hour journey to and from Phuket, which means waking up at 7am instead of 5am! All the speedboats leave from Khao Lak so if you are being collected from Phuket, it will be a very long day!
All the staff speak good English and the equipment is in very good condition.
There are 3 snorkeling opportunities instead of 2 offered by other companies.
We were very happy we chose Wow Andaman Tours :) highly recommend !

Dear Laurent
We are very happy that you enjoyed the snorkeling activity with Wow Andaman, and hope you got a "wow" experience :-) I will forward your review to Arty and team. And for anyone who can start the trip from Khao Lak, that will save the journey by minivan from Phuket to the pier.
All the best,

Having read the reviews of various companies before booking with WOW I was so pleased we decided to go with them. The tour was extremely professional and well organised, friendly and prompt replies to my booking email and pick up on time from our hotel. The Similan Islands are breathtakingly beautiful with beaches you can hardly believe are real! The speedboat trip passed quickly with plentiful drinks and snacks passed around by the crew. The equipment provided was good quality and the crew made sure to help everyone fit their snorkels and masks. The snorkeling itself was out of this world and we had plenty of time at each stop. So many varied types of beautiful fish, you won't believe your eyes! We could only go to 2 sites rather than the planned 3 due to choppy sea conditions but we were given extra time at the others so it was fine. The packed lunch was a bento style lunchbox and we enjoyed it - no shortage of drinks and water, plus delicious coconut ice cream. Thanks to our energetic and friendly crew on boat 6 especially our guide Arty who did an excellent job of keeping everyone happy and organised. Thank you! Bethan and Paul, England

the islands and the underwater world are beautiful and absolutely worth seeing, but completely overcrowded. At the same time as us there were probably around 300 people on each island and around 150 at the snorkeling spot (half from 🇨🇳)
The organizer and his team are perfectly organized from the pick-up to the return

Dear markusrainer73
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Wow Andaman Day Trip to the Similan Islands. We value your honest opinion and appreciate you bringing both the positive and negative aspects of your experience to our attention.
We understand your concerns regarding the long travel time and overcrowding on the island. While the natural beauty of the Similans is undoubtedly a highlight, we acknowledge that large crowds can affect the overall enjoyment of the trip. We are constantly working with our partners to explore alternative options and improve the itinerary whenever possible.
However, we are glad to hear that you found the organizer and their team to be well-organized and efficient. This is a testament to their professionalism and efforts to ensure a smooth experience for their guests.
Your feedback is valuable as it helps us identify areas for improvement and ensures we continue to offer the best possible experience for our customers. We sincerely hope you will consider joining us again in the future on a tour that better suits your preferences.
Thank you once again for your feedback.

We were a bit dubious about booking one of these trips as some of the reviews mentioned about too many people etc. but we so wanted to visit the Similan Islands that we decided it was worth it. All in all we were pleasantly surprised with the whole trip. It was well managed and all the staff were friendly and helpful, including Tan (baby shark) who was funny and a sweetheart.
Obviously when you go to these islands there are many boats coming and going with lots of tourists but there is no getting away from that and if you want to visit, then they just have to put up with it.
We had some great snorkelling, swimming and lying on the beaches.
The boat ride there and back was fine. Nobody was sick. There was plenty of drinks and ice cream and biscuits.
Lunch I’ll be honest I didn’t eat. Only the banana and orange. Rice, chicken, fish, prawns and squid which was neither cold nor hot and had obviously been on the boat for a few hours didn’t inspire me with confidence so not for me. Other people were tucking in.
The food afterwards looked very good although we had already made plans.
So all in all I would definitely recommend it!

While the abundance of tourists is unavoidable, the overall experience seems to have been worthwhile. Would of been a great tour. The location and beaches are definitely something to see our guide Poy was great and engaging. My only compliant is we believe the trip potentially shouldn’t of gone ahead, the weather was terrible the seas were rough, obviously no one’s fault because it’s the weather. Felt so unsafe on the trip and I’ve grown up on boats, 24 people on the tour got sea sick. Would do the tour again but rebook it for a calmer day.

Thanks for your message, and we understand that the sea conditions was very rough on this day. The ride by speedboat is around 1 hour and of course very bumpy on that day. We hope the storm here in Southern Thailand is soon over.
