Dolphins and whales and puffins oh my! And some suicidal sheep as well. This activity was what we built our Ireland adventure around. My GF loves dolphins and I love the pub scene so...Dingle it is!
We were blessed with fantastic weather, sunny and mid 60sF or 19C. No wind and calm seas. So that in itself was bonus. As you leave Dingle harbor you cruise along the rocky coast line and learn history and geology and visit a sea cave. Then we cruised up to the Blasket Islands and you can see the Skelligs in the distance. At the Blaskets you should see some seal activity. You will also see suicidal sheep. I say that because how close they get to the edge. After the Blaskets you work your way to the "feeding grounds". There were quite a few dolphins actively feeding and jumping around the boat. My daughter also spotted a Minkie whale. The entire trip your Captain will provide a narrative of the history of the area and sea life along with some insights about the filming of the Star Wars movies that took place. You are provided with waterproof pants, jacket and a automatic life jacket. The entire trip takes about 2.5 hours. If we make another visit to Dingle we will take another Sea Safari. And you should too!

Booked this trip after reading all the brilliant reviews and now I see why, so if you are reading this and on the fence go book it now, or when you are booking your trip to dingle!

Their website offers easy booking, with time slots available for you to choose from, we booked a 9 am slot, we arrived 30 mins prior, you are provided with a big jacket and life jacket, recommend warm clothing as it gets a little windy out on the open sea.

Colm was are skipper for the trip which lasted approx over 2.5 hours, his knowledge of the islands, coastline, history and waters was second to none. He took is into sea caves, explained the rock formations, showed is the blasket islands where we seen the about 50 seals, we thrn headed off in search of dolphins, and there are no words to describe a pod of dolphins, even baby dolphins swimming along side the boat, it was truly magical!
We where also very fortunate to see a humpback whale on our trip!

Highlight of our trip to Dingle, thanks guys and highly recommend!

We had the sea safari on our must do list on our first visit to Dingle. The weather wasn’t on our side for the first few days but Bridget advised us to get in touch a few days later when the forecast was more promising. Safety is paramount to this family run company and they really “pushed the boat out” for us. The highly functional and protective we weather clothing were invaluable and we were dry and comfortable in spite of an impressive swell and cold wind. Our skipper was so passionate about the history and geology of the area and Colum made sure we felt safe whilst providing excitement and drama at the same time. What a privilege it was to be out in the north Altlantic and see dolphins, seals a pod of 5 basking sharks and many beautiful seabirds - the view of the ancient village on the Blasket island was wonderful. A testament to the courage and fortitude of the folk of Kerry. Highly recommend this exciting and informative tour when you visit beautiful Dingle!

A tour with Dingle Sea Safari was one of the highlights of our trip to Kerry. We booked a morning slot and were lucky enough to see seals, multiple dolphin sightings as well as some humpback whales.

Warm coats are provided which were perfect for a trip in August; would recommend to make sure to dress in warm clothes if sailing outside the summer months.

Our captain, Sean, was super knowledgeable and helpful and he really went above and beyond to make sure that we got the most from the entire sailing experience. He really helped make the trip unforgettable.

Watching the Dolphins swim alongside and in front of the boat and leap out of the water around the boat. Seal colony living on Blasket Islands was nice to. My 12 year son really enjoyed the trip and at just under 3 hours it's great value for money. Out guide on the day Sean was very informative and able to fill us in on the history of the islands, the geology and the wildlife. A great day out.

This boat trip was the highlight of our few days in Dingle. Jimmy & Bridget were great craic, an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Jimmy was a very funny tour guide who had us laughing before we even left the harbour, & very informative as he filled us in on the history of the area throughout the trip. It was an ideal way of seeing the Dingle Peninsula from the sea, I'd definitely recommend doing this boat trip before driving around the peninsula. We were absolutely blessed with good weather so it was perfect conditions for the trip. It was worth every penny & felt great to be able to support a genuine family run Irish company after a tough season. Would highly recommend & will be booking in again the next time we're in Dingle!

This was an experience I wanted to share with other family members as I had already don this tour before.
We were greeted by a fabulous morning and the staff of Dingle Sea Safari.
We were fitted out in full safety gear including life jackets by the excellent ground crew at headquarters.
Sean our boat pilot was superb and skilled in the mastery of his boat, and very knowledgeable about every aspect of the tour.
We were greeted by fabulous views of the offshore islands,Dolphins, Minke Whales, and indigenous sea birds of the region. Seals were frequent sightings along the way.
I cannot recommend this company enough for its excellence and adherence to safety protocols making the whole experience a superb and safe pleasure.

We really enjoyed our trip. Our captain was very knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to see dolphins. It was just over 2.5 hours so we thought it was great value for money- we would have been happy if it had been a 2 hour trip.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because our email told us to bring warm clothes and jackets. It was a very hot day so we both wore shorts but brought sailing jackets for the trip. The lady in the office told us we must wear the jackets they supply so we were left sitting on our jackets throughout the trip. When I said that I would be happy to wear my own jacket she turned to the lady working with her and said "fine let them get cold". I think this was just a misunderstanding as we didn't know we would be given clothes to wear. It did seem to very busy on Wednesday when we did the trip so maybe she was under pressure.

Aside from that encounter, I could not fault the experience.

It was a choppy and windy day out on the water but Jimmy our captain guided us expertly through caves, waves and tough currents and showed us a fantastic time! He sprinkled us with some fun facts and history accompanied by his wry sense of humor and we saw seals, dolphins puffins and other birds during our sea journey. A memorable experience was had by all. Highly recommended should you find yourself in Dingle.

This was a well worth while trip that our three kids hopefully will alwaya remember. The Up Close with Fungie trip was very special. Having done the regular trip out with another company last year we wanted a much more personal and close experience this time. We headed out at 8am while the harbour was pure peace with a very very small group. Fungie interacts with every boat that leaves or enters the harbour so going out early is the way to go to ensure maximum time with him. Jimmy our skipper was very knowledgeable and friendly and he clearly haa a very special relationship with Fungie. He was the only person allowed out to check on Fungie during lock down as he has been doing the trips for 33 years. We had so many experiences with Fungie as well as a tour around outside the harbour to admire the cliffs, caves and other incredible prehistoric geological features. The sun shone and it had that heavenly feel. The rib itself is class and can travel at quite high speed. The fact it's low to the water again meant we could get so close to the gorgeous Fungie. Although it is a lot more expensive than the regular trip out to see Fungie it waa well worth it as it was such an intimate and special expedience with the infamous friendly dolphin. It was a full 90 mins and we certainly have very fond memories of it.
