Lovely way to spend our anniversary
We spent the 2 hour trip enjoying good food and service. I’m gluten free and was given a lovely plate of food. My partner had the savoury option and enjoyed it too. Highly recommend this trip to get a feel for being on a barge, going at a slow pace on a canal.

      Afternoon tea boat trip
Excellent boat trip and great food, the boat was comfortable with generous tables and seating and a full view of the canal. The staff were brilliant and overall it was a wonderful experience and great value for money. Would thoroughly recommend.

Perfect way to spend a couple of hours
Amazing couple of hours cruising along the canal. Afternoon tea was lovely, very tasty. Crew very attentive, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend. When we visit the area again next year going to book the fish and chips evening cruise.

      Afternoon Tea Cruise
Great overall experience. Cruise was relaxing, staff were attentive, afternoon tea was great and not overwhelming (sometimes there is too much cake on an afternoon tea). Would highly recommend a couple hours relaxing, eating and drinking on the canal. Would have happily stayed longer.

      Lovely experience
A great experience ! Lovely friendly crew. About 25 guests on board. Boat nicely decorated out, clean and well looked after. Fresh flowers on our laid table. A good pot of tea or coffee comes alongside your food. We choose a savoury and a sweet afternoon tea so we could mix and match. Tasty and a good selection of food. The 2 hour cruise was delightful. Very relaxing. Highly recommend.

      A fantastic AT experience.
A beautiful experience on a lovely sunny day. We had the savoury option for afternoon tea which included a famous pork pie from a local Skipton butchers shop. Fresh flowers on the table and perfectly served by friendly staff. Two hours of pure enjoyment.

      Chilled trip on the water
An excellent afternoon trip on the water. We chose the 12 noon sailing, and correspondence following the booking was very good. Tickets were sent via email, but there was no need to print as you are allocated a table against your name. With having a table, it was just a case of turning up near the allocated time to be shown on board. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. It was lovely and chilled looking out of the window as we sailed along. The afternoon tea was lovely and just enough for us with a selection of sandwiches and small cakes. The pot of tea was ample. Overall, a great few hours that was really enjoyed.

Great way to spend 3 hours
We had a roast dinner cruise bought for us, so we had a weekend break, culminating in the cruise. This was lovely as it wasn't overcrowded. We had a cruise up the canal before dinner was served. It was a standard roast meat with roast potatoes, peas snd carrots. Before the dessert was served we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, which sounded as though it was included, but we were charged for it, although it was reasonably priced. The cheesecake dessert was delicious. We loved looking out of the window, spotting a heron, Canada geese and mallards, and especially seeing the memorial to Polish airnen who were killed when their plane crashed in the war, as I am part Polish. It was a bonus that the rain kept off until the trip ended. All in all a very pleasant way to spend 3 hours

Had a lovely trip along the canal. Very relaxing and the commentary was very entertaining. The children were kept entertained with colouring whilst we waited to set off which was a nice touch. The company were also very accommodating when I booked the wrong date by mistake 🙄 Enjoyed fish and chips at the restaurant next door afterwards which I can highly recommend too.

The cruise itself was scenic and relaxing and the boat was very comfortable with lots of leg room in the seats, Staff were nice and friendly and even came round and gave the dogs on board a treat which was a nice touch and the bar was stocked and open!.

Now the less than good bits..

The advert on the website states "Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame" which suggests Dave is actually on the boat 'guiding' but it was just recorded commmentary with his voice used, a bit misleading as i would imagine a few people book thinking they are actually getting to see Dave in person.
The commentary, which we actually heard (more about this is a minute) was informative and humourous in parts but was utterly spoilt by the 4 blokes in the seats in front of us who never stopped talking over the commentary ALL THE TIME - and not even about the Cruise/area/history etc it was just them 4 having their own private conversation about Covid/Emails/life in general the entire time we were on the boat, both myself, my partner and the couple behind us were very close to saying something but didn't want to cause a scene as obviously the rest of the boat were trying to listen and of course we didn't know how they would react, we both commented at an audible level how rude they were being in the hope they would take the hint but they didn't, we thought a couple of times they had finally shut up to let us enjoy what we had paid for, we were wrong, the silence was obviously too much for them so one of them started up another conversation much to the annoyance of us all again, Surely a member of staff should have stepped in and asked them to be quiet so everyone could hear the commentary? maybe it's acceptable to talk all the way through the cruise and we were just on a 'quieter boat'? Why they bothered paying money to sit on a boat when they could've sat in a pub and chatted beats me, i would have given a higher rating but these 4 men spoilt the journey for us and we were quite glad to be off and rid of them in the end.
Maybe you could get Dave or a member of staff to ask that people respect others and not talk during the commentary bits?.
An absolute shame as the bits i did hear were very informative and interesting.

A very relaxing and interesting cruise along the canal.

The crew were excellent and the commentary informative and amusing.

I was on the barge with my 84 year old mum and she enjoyed it immensely.

And finally, the work done by the crew and company to making the trip 100% COVID compliant was immense and hugely appreciated.

Very professional and COVID aware/safe. I would recommend this cruise down a lovely canal whilst being entertained by a witty but informative commentary by Dave Spikey. Why not slow the pace down, sit back and enjoy this lovely experience. If you’re in the area, make a booking. Suitable for all ages. Delightful.

We booked onto the hour long cruise in July. It was ok. The weather was very wet which meant the windows all steamed up. This meant we saw very little of the outside. It also felt quite cramped especially at the front where we were sitting. The commentary by Dave Spikey was quite amusing. Overall an ok trip.

Group of 5 took the hour tour on Saturday 14 May. It was a waste of time as there were 4 noisy constant chatting women behind us which made the commentary impossible to hear most of the time. Reported this at the end of the tour to the person in charge of boat who told me to go to office. In the office, the reply was did you ask for the commentary to be turned up? So for anyone who has a similar experience go and ask at the time for the commentary to be turned up!

Good Covid guidelines being followed and people lined up on one side to enter and left the boat on the other. Masks used appropriately. We had the packed lunch which wasn’t cheap but was filling and tasted good. The trip was about an hour and probably the only negative comment was it was difficult to hear all the commentary as it wasn’t loud enough and people were chatting. Social distancing with the seating arrangement was good and great that the company allocated the seats.

The first boat trip of the day 11.50 goes over lunch so was mostly adults.
Seats assigned because of covid so no need to worry if you are at the back of the queue when you arrive.
Enjoyable ride; the canal is relaxing and the sheep staring at you as you pass them is quite entertaining.
You can buy drinks on board.
Dogs welcome as you can see on my photo.

The team were really efficient and friendly. Covid procedures were followed so passengers were socially distanced and seats and rails were sanitised.
Refreshments were offered at a reasonable price.
Only comment is that there is not much leg room so can be uncomfortable.
