Came here as part of a McLeod’s Margaret River tour. The tasting took place in the “shed” where the wine is produced. While we were having our tastings there were 3 other groups in so it didn’t feel very personalised. The lady that led our tastings was a little rude to some in our group. However we did find a wine called Charlotte that we loved and we did buy a bottle.

We first heard of this winery at breakfast from fellow travellers staying at the same Guesthouse as us. They had been on a winery tour the day before and recommended a visit. Rustic and minimalist is how I would describe the barn in which the cellar door, vats and other winery equipment resides. This is a small family run winery that was established in 1995. Our welcome from Chiara, one of the co-owners, though was very warm. he advised that we could taste whatever we wanted on the tasting list and that there was no fee as "most people buy something". And she was correct as we purchased several bottles of chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and the Cabernet Merlot blend. There were 18 wines on the list including Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, a Sav Blanc Semillon blend, Chardonnays, a couple of Roses, a couple of Cabernet Sauvignons, Cabernet Merlot blends, a Shiraz, a Shiraz Cabernet blend and a liqueur muscat. We found that the Chardonnays (particularly the Golden Mile) and the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Merlots were to our taste. Very enjoyable visit.

Chiara is very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting and was one of 3 vineyards visited. We tasted several wines and not just the cheaper options. Very enjoyable.

As a local I have visited Brown Hill Estate many times. I love their wines, there is nothing fancy about this cellar door ..no gift shop or food just people with a passion for making and promoting their glorious wines. Today I took two people that had never done a wine tasting, Chiara talked them through every wine .

Such a friendly welcome and some truly beautiful red wines. We had visited a couple of the bigger wineries nearby and weren’t as impressed as this smaller, family owned and run winery. Highly recommend - and we look forward to the wines waiting for us when we get home!!

Great wines and the owner Nathan was very knowledgeable about the winery’s history and wines. Very friendly chat while tasting many of the reds and whites. Recommend.

A great family run winery. All very welcoming and the service was awesome. One of the best selection of wines in the South West, I reckon.

Fantastic family owned winery down the picturesque Rosa Brook Rd. Brown Hill winery has a great selection of wines to taste. Gwen was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was hard to decide what to take home! Put this winery on your day trip while in the Margaret River area. We look forward to visiting again. Thanks Gwen and Nathan!

A great start to the day - and all in the timing as it started to drizzle once we got inside. The wines were absolutely delicious and learnt alot about the region and the different wines produced. Get on their mailing list as they do wine dinners in Perth at times during the year

We visited some different wineries on our tour and this one was the best ! Chiara was excellent, very friendly and nothing was a problem. Highly recommended

No trip south would be complete without a visit to Brown Hill Estate. For those that dont know it, the cellar door is in the winery itself and you can experience the everyday workings that are needed to create excellent wines. Personally, I have always loved their Hannans cabernet sauvignon and my wife, the SBS. Its a family owned and run concern which is quite a rarity with so many being owned by large corporations. Its a great place for a very laid back tasting.
