We really had an amazing time on the tour and enjoyed our time in Bamberg. Rich is an exceptionally open, knowledgeable and super friendly person who did everything to make our tour a memorable one. I can highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for fun-filled day enjoying some great tasting beers in the Bavarian countryside.

A fantastic outing with my sons. Both the hike and monastery visit were thoroughly enjoyable. The beer was outstanding, and Rich, our guide, encouraged us to eat the "pig knuckle", which we would not have otherwise ordered, and was excellent. Rich was organized, knowledgeable, engaging, and a lot of fun. He even gave us recommendations of restaurants and beer gardens to visit. I highly recommend this activity for anyone who wants to get out of Munich and into the mountains for a day, and still drink some great beer.

Going on a beer hike with Rich was definitely one a highlight of our German holiday! He organize our trek along the Fünf Seidla Steig. All we had to do was show up at the Nuremberg train station ready to hike and drink some beer! If you're in the area and love beer, consider going on a Beerwander tour. We lucked out and had amazing weather. It was an amazing experience being able to hike through the Franconia countryside stopping at some off the beaten path breweries to "hydrate". The hiking makes room for more beer. Trying new beers is motivation for more hiking. It's a nice pairing. Rich was an amazing guide and delightful companion for the day. We learned all about the history of the breweries we visited and general German beer culture. Besides our hike, Rich's website is filled with some gems of recommendations in the area. He provides great beer tips across all of Bavaria (where to go and what to try).

If you have only one trip or tour to take while visiting Bayern/Bavaria, this is the one!! Rich is an AMAZING guide and could not be more friendly, knowledge, and easy. The hike was incredible, the monetary was gorgeous, but the beer was out of this world. Top that off with some of the best food in the country and you will regret not booking this trip immediately. I thought I knew a.lot about beer, but Rich has forgotten more about beer than I'll ever know!!!! The very best time!!

This was an amazing day tour! Rich is so fun and full of facts, he really made our day and trip incredible! Hiking and drinking beer, what more could you want? I highly recommend this trip and anything that Rich is guiding! I would love to do another one of his tours in the future if I get a chance to be out his way again!

We were in Munich for the Oktoberfest and wanted to take a tour that would go with the theme of the festival but also get us active as well. Andechs Monastery Beer Hike tour was just the perfect tour! I can't say enough good things about Rich, our guide. Not only is he an expert on anything and everything about beer, but he was personable and great to talk with throughout the tour. The tour itself was amazing...from taking the S-Bahn to hiking up and back to Andechs Monastery. Absolutely stunning and the beer was soooo good! Highly recommend this tour and I am looking forward to taking another tour with Rich in the future!

This trip was a real highlight for us and even after being home now for a few weeks, the family and I are still talking about this experience!!! Please do yourself a favor, book this trip with Rich, get out of town for an afternoon, lace up your walking shoes and be ready for a very scenic hike, with plenty of stops along the way to enjoy amazing German beer recommended by Rich of course!!! I actually learned so much in the short time we all had together that when we do return to Germany, I will, with no hesitation, book Rich again for another adventure!!!

If you want a great hike with plenty of outdoor and beautiful scenery…not too far from Munich…with a top notch guide…this is it!!! If there was an award for best guide in Munich, Rich would easily win it. He’s not In it for the money…he’s in it to help you enjoy Bavaria and the beer/food that goes with it. My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Europe and after all the cities, this tour was a wonderful change of pace! Our guide made the tour very easy and relaxing. He also gave lots of recommendations for our stay in Munich! We highly recommend this hike and meal!

We had a great time on our beer hike with Rich! From start to finish, Rich made everything easy, from arranging for train tickets, providing local recommendations for our other days in Munich, and educating us on some of the local history of the area. To meet someone from Philadelphia who is as knowledgeable and passionate about Franconian beer was such a cool experience! This was a history lesson, a workout, and a beer tour all in one. Make sure you try the Haksen! All in all I’d highly recommend booking this tour if you enjoy the outdoors, good conversation, and some really cool beers, you won’t regret it! The hike in Murnau with rich was fantastic. The cute small town, beautiful mountains in the back drop coupled with an accessible hike made for a great day. Rich knew a lot of about the history of the area and knows a lot about beer and the local beer scene. He was a great tour guide and I highly recommend him.

I can't recommend this tour enough! We had an amazing day out with friends exploring the Franconia countryside led by Rich. The hike is suitable for mixed levels (I'm not a hiker!) and expertly guided by Rich. He gave us lots of info on the history of the area but most importantly the beer and food! All his recommendations were spot on. It's a unique experience as you won't find these beers all over Germany and the views are just stunning. It's invaluable to have Rich to give you all the local knowledge of the area that you'd otherwise never know. It made the day for us and we all plan to do it again soon with Rich

First, I have to thank Rich for accommodating me, with my flight from Canada putting me past the normal start time. His communication leading up and as I was arriving was top level, keeping us well coordinated. I was on zero sleep but had no issues, and enjoyed the pace of the hiking, which was nothing too challenging. Definitely wear good walking shoes or hiking shoes, though. Andechs was phenomenal - the beer was probably my favorite above everything else I had in Munich. Definitely try both the doppelbock and the hell beer. The food was really good, as well. All with great views. From there we made a nice stop on Lake Ammersee for a beer on the lakes edge, with a perfect view of the lake and surrounding area. I am definitely interested in doing one of the other beer hikes with Rich when I am in Germany again.

Rich is a legend. The Fünf-Seidla-Steig with Beerwanderers is an outstanding way to experience Germany outside of the main cities. Not only does Rich guide you as you hike from brewery to brewery through the beautiful Franconian countryside, he also takes time to inform you about the area, the trail, the food and most importantly the breweries and beer! Rich has been exploring Franconia for years and knows the public transportation system well, which comes in handy after a day of hiking, eating and sampling local beers. It put me at ease knowing that Rich was keeping my group on schedule to catch our train home. I highly recommend Beerwanderers with Rich!
