Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- U454GAdeborahb0 contributionsWe loved every minuteFantastic experience for our whole family. Nadia is an excellent guide, a true local, who adds that perfect extra touch.Written December 1, 2024
- michellesV9643IK0 contributionsBest views in VarennaNadia was unavailable so she got one of her colleges to take us on a private tour, Emanuelle was OUTSTANDING! He even called ahead to the restaurant to see if they had GF food…which they did! The cafe at the base of the Castle was excellent. The views were stunning! A must do if you are capable of going up and down steep uneven terrain. Emanuelle took all the photos of my and my daughter, he was so kind and very good at his job! Born and raised in Bellagio 🥰Written October 5, 2024
- LynnVolk0 contributionsAwesome guide and hikeThis is an awesome hike. Challenging in some areas, but well worth the effort. Nadia, our guide, was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We enjoyed every minute. It was great way to fill our first day in the area of Varenna and Nadia gave up great advice about shopping and places to eat. Highly recommend the tour and Nadia as a guide.Written September 26, 2024
- LightPacker775470 contributionsStunning!Nadia was such an amazing guide! This hike was full of beauty and majestic scenery at every turn. We learned so much that day. My daughter was experiencing Lake Como for the first time and I wanted her to see some of these places her dad and I had fallen in love with in a prior trip. Nadia shared the backstory and history to them and now I appreciate them even more. I’ll never look at black marble the same after all those black marble stones we helped to smooth and polish as we hiked in our shoes that day!Written August 30, 2024
- Woodcliffmom0 contributionsHike w historyGreatly enjoyed the hiking tour . Nadia took us up to castle of Vezio and gave us hx of the region. It a full uphill climb on uneven grounds ( cobblestones), so wear appropriate footwear. We stopped off at many little churches along the way. Bring water. Had lunch on the way down but that is optional. We then visited the beautiful little Fiumelatte to cool off. That is a hike also. And finally ended the day with a tour of the beautiful Villa Monastero. Wear appropriate hiking shoes.Bring suntan lotion because there are many sunny areas. You will hike through cobblestones, gravel, tree groves, etc Nadia is a local and her english is great and gives us a history of the region. You can feel her love of this area. Its a great hike with great company. Loved it!Written August 9, 2024
- sonia s0 contributionsLoved the hiking tour of Varenna with Nadia! Our guide Nadia was very knowledgeable and shared so many great stories and information about what we were seeing . Our group was very friendly with each other and it was the highlight of our visit to Varenna. It was also a great workout and challenged me but not too much!Written July 24, 2024
- Delme L0 contributionsAn excellent hike around VarennaWe had an excellent guided hike around Varenna. Nadia was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the history of the surrounding area. It was also great to get away from the busier part of town. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Varenna. The terrain is quite steep so you will need a relatively good fitness level.Written July 16, 2024
- Curiosity092034606530 contributionsA perfect blend of adventure and culinary delight: A must try experienceI recently attended the hiking and pasta cooking class, and it was an unforgettable experience! The day started with a beautifully organized hike, led by Nadia, who shared fascinating insights about the local scenery. The trail offered breathtaking views and a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment. After the hike, we transitioned to the cooking portion of the day. The pasta cooking class was a highlight! Our instructor, Anna was enthusiastic and incredibly skilled, guiding us through the process of making fresh pasta from scratch. We learned various techniques and tips that made the experience both fun and educational. The hands-on experience of kneading the dough, shaping the pasta, and finally cooking it was incredibly rewarding. The end result was a delicious, homemade pasta meal that we all enjoyed together. The combination of outdoor adventure and culinary creativity made for a perfect day. This hiking and pasta cooking class is a must-try for anyone looking to connect with nature and enjoy a fantastic meal. I highly recommend it to outdoor enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Five stars all the way!Written July 14, 2024
- Susan T0 contributionsAwesome tourWe had a great time! The view from the castle was amazing and Villa Monastero was beautiful! We learned so much about Varrena and Lake Como. Our guide Nadia was very friendly and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make the experience great. We would highly recommended!Written July 4, 2024
- laurieg5650 contributionsThe perfect dayNadia is an exceptional tour guide: knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. This was the best day of our vacation. We would look forward to another tour with Nadia when we return to Lake Como!Written July 4, 2024
- KristieDelaware0 contributionsWorth it - highest recommendation! We had one day in Varenna, and with limited time, wanted to make the most of it. We also enjoy hiking and wanted to include that in our day trip. We were thrilled to find Nadia. Exploring the area with a guide allows you to learn so much more about the history and culture of the area - things we definitely would have missed out on going it alone. Nadia was also very thoughtful on the trails - making sure we navigated the terrain safely. Highlights were the trek up to the castle and to the waterfall / river. At the end of the hike, Nadia was able to secure us a table (it was near closing time) at restaurant overlooking the lake where our hike had ended - about a 20 minute walk outside the town of Varenna. It was our best meal in Italy. I give my highest recommendation to Nadia!Written June 7, 2024
- P4681JCstevef0 contributionsKnowledgeable, Experienced, and Wonderful GuideNadia was a lovely, knowledgeable and experienced tour guide. She offered great insight into the Lake Como area, toured us through off-the-beaten-path villages, and even allowed us to customize our experience to fit our schedule. Most importantly, I would highly recommend booking any tour with Nadia, as she is certain to provide great value to your Lake Como stay.Written June 7, 2024
- Robgus7710 contributionsDisappointing last minute time changeBooked trip only to have to cancel due to tour operator changing the tour time 2 days before. A full refund was provided but we could have booked a different tour during this time had we known that advertised time was not available.Written May 24, 2024
- courtneymD1846UK0 contributions100% worth itNadia really knows her stuff. My husband and I took the private walking tour of Como and Nadia showed us great walking areas and was more than willing to help us plan anything else we needed help with.Written April 20, 2024
- 432arleenc0 contributionsStunning Views, Steep Costs, and Mixed GuidanceFor all those who love a good mountaineering experience with great views, this is for you! But that's not all... The cost of the hike was ridiculously expensive with absolutely nothing included (the entrances to the palace and gorge had to be paid separately... and not even a bottle of water was given!). So the price only includes using your own feet. The trekking experience was practically nonstop and barely given time to take photos! The descriptions given by Nadia were not always accurate. While she was informative on some things, she wasn't on others. On the whole, while the trip could be done free of charge (if you know the routes), it could at least be done with half the price requested. But nonetheless, I felt I needed the exercise, so that's a plus!Written April 15, 2024
