The tour was great! Easily worth the money and time spent. George went above and beyond with the service! The walk was great, we were shown a variety of archaeological, historical and cultural sites that helped you understand Ios more. George introduced us to some locals as well to give a bit more depth to what he was showing us. If you’re thinking of booking this I would 100% recommend it! You’ll go away knowing more about the island and the people of Ios.

My friends and I all agreed that this was the most worthwhile thing we’ve ever done on a vacation. Our guide, George, was not only knowledgeable about the history of the island but also very funny and personable. I learned so much about Ios. The tour lasted 4-5 hours with a 1500 ft elevation gain in 81 degree weather. George came prepared with lots of water for everyone as well as dried figs as a snack, grown from his own trees. He also had powdered electrolytes to make sure no one got dehydrated. The cheesery had amazing cheese and wine as well as a fun tour with explanation of the history of the cheesery and how it’s changed throughout the generations. You should have good cardiovascular health to do this activity but don’t need to be an expert on a bike at all the electric component makes the trek up the mountain doable.

It was nice to get off the beach and discover more of the interior with George! Passionate about Ios he took us on a discovery of the island that helped us to appreciate its history and future. The GIANT brand e-bikes are first rate and powerful. Requiring a low amount of energy to move through the hills. George is a writer and has already written a book with plans on a second one. He is extremely knowledgeable and informative. Dont be shy go for a ride!

Really enjoyed our e-bike tour with George. The bikes were great, very easy to use with ample power and battery to make the climbs on the route a breeze. Scenery was beautiful throughout, but it was George’s local knowledge and story telling that made the trip so enjoyable. Great way to see some of the island and to learn some of the island’s fascinating history.

I did Tour no.5 with George and it was everything I wanted. He offered to pick me up in the morning where he made me an espresso and let me try the breadsticks he got from the local bakery. The hike we completed was absolutely amazing, where George spoke about the history, the culture and everything in between. He introduced me to some of the local elders as well as his friends on the way and even got to try some of his homegrown figs (which I got to pick!) He is an amazing and passionate tour guide and person and I thoroughly enjoyed my hike with him!

If you are on Ios this tour is an excellent way to explore the surrounding landscape, all whilst being in the presence of the local guide George who has an intimate knowledge of the island and is an amazing host. The electric bikes make this tour a really enjoyable way to get around, and if you are fit and healthy, you will have zero problems. The cheese tasting was a great addition I highly recomend when you cycle by. Overall, getting to see the amazing landscape and scenery is a breathtaking experience.

This tour was such an amazing experience. I went with my husband to Greece, we are from New York and wanted to know more about Ios. George was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us many things about the island that we wouldn't have known otherwise. The views on this tour was spectacular and we were able to see the sunset as well. We definitely recommend him.

Very happy with my tour! We have been to Ios lighthouse celebrating August last full moon. Highly recommend Giorgos for his professionalism and keen attitude. I am impressed about how adaptable was on the group needs, we had two small children on a possible challenging terrain but with his preperation (previously marking the path with luminous signs), experience Giorgos guided us with safety, leading to a very nice experience, happy to go with him to more routes!

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to George for being a brilliant tour guide! His rich knowledge of the island was fascinating and provided us with historical and cultural context for our further exploration of the island. The tour is a must, as George points out several things that many tourists may miss. The experience was intimate, with myself and my partner being the only ones on the tour. George himself is very personable and we really appreciated learning about his personal connection to the island. We immediately felt at ease and we left the tour feeling as though we had just spent some time with a local of Ios. He is easy to reach via WhatsApp before the tour so we had no trouble finding him. We were also given recommendations of food and restaurants on the island, which proved to be delicious. George recommended historical sites across the island, providing some information about them as you could see them from afar. Be sure to check out Homer’s tomb, which George is writing an academic book about! He also has a website if you’re interested in checking that out. George’s tour was well thought out and he stopped to take pictures of our family so that my family and I could be in the photos together. We enjoyed his stories and history of the island very much. I would come back and take a different tour of his in order to experience other aspects of Ios.

My friends and I took a Paths hiking tour with George in June 2023. It was a nice long one covering many kilometres through beautiful rugged countryside with spectacular scenery and sites of interest. We saw many old ruins and churches. Several of the sites had scan codes that we were able to scan with our phones to learn more about the areas we visited. George was well informed and had a wealth of information, he truly loves his island and its culture. He packed some traditional Greek snacks for us that we enjoyed at our rest points. If you enjoy the outdoors and exploring, I highly recommend taking a tour with George on the island of Ios.

We did a private hiking tour with George, and what a wonderful time we had! We got to see stunning places that tourists are typically not able to access and learned many interesting facts about the island and its history. George is a very passionate and thoughtful guide, and was always aware of providing a safe and fun experience. Any trip to Ios should include a hike (or multiple) with Ios Paths! Highly recommended!

George amazing guide and wants to put the history back into IOS. Passionate about his home George offers to walk you locally through hillside, allowing you to try his home grown figs in route! You walk fast ( he is an ex military man) and he rewards you with great knowledge and views. We ended back in town and he gave us a lift back as we were walking opposite direction. I would definitely trust George and his knowledge of history is proof he only wants what’s best for this beautiful island.
