Love to hike and love truffles? This is your trip!!
An amazing day hiking up the mountain! Our day started with a nice drive through the countryside in a very clean and comfortable car-we got to a tiny town where we had croissants and cappuccino then drove to where we started our journey. This was a really good trek and if you do this, I HIGHLY recommend taking hiking shoes or sneakers with a good tread. There are a lot of areas that are very rocky or slippery. We watched as the dog which was a Lagotto Romagnolo breed (my new favorite dog), ran through the forest until it smelled a truffle and dug furiously until it found it and brought it back to his master. We found 5 truffles that we brought back to an amazing restaurant where they made dishes that were specifically made to pair with our fresh truffles. It was a great day and a very unusual experience. We learned a lot. I highly recommend!

      Amazing Experience!
My husband and I had the most amazing day on this adventure. Our driver Luigi picked us up from our hotel in Sorrento and we drove about 1.5 hours, to a beautiful area, where we met our guide, GIuseppe , as well as truffle hunter Oreste and his dog Argo. We had coffee and croissants at a cute little cafe and then headed to the mountain to look for truffles. The scenery was gorgeous and the hike was amazing! We had the opportunity to stop many times for photos and Giuseppe provided a lot of interesting information about the area and was happy to answer our questions. Argo found 5 or 6 truffles, which we took with us to the restaurant, La Corte Dei Filangieri. At the restaurant, we cleaned the truffles and had a phenomenal meal, with multiple courses, including the truffle garnish. This restaurant was excellent and the chef chatted with Giuseppe and Luigi, as we all had lunch together. The whole day provided many unique opportunities for authentic experiences, that we will never forget. We are so grateful that we found this adventure and highly recommend. Thank you to Luigi, Giuseppe, Oreste, Argo and chef Antonio Petrillo and staff, for an amazing day!

      Excellent food tour in Naples
Our guide, Alex, was excellent. We learnt so much about Naples. The food was delicious and the tour was the perfect duration and good value for money! My daughter and I loved it.

      Exceptional experience
Must do if you like hiking (and truffle) Great attentive coordination by Giuseppe, informative professional friendly guide in Luciano and experienced hunters in Oreste and his dog Argo! We had an early start from sorrento but got delayed by the traffic (an accident on the narrow road near sorrento before the highway); but no worries, once we arrived at Volturara, we were met by Luciano and Oreste, had coffee and a croissant and headed to the mountain Despite a dry day; had a much than expected hunt (6 truffles with a few larger ones) with nice information about the region overall, the trail and truffle hunting by Luciano and Oreste. Lots of stops for a comfortable easy hike and picture taking opportunities After that we heading to the excellent restaurant with our prized truffles (check our other review of La Corte Dei Filangieri di Petrillo Antonio)

      Great tour
Our guide Silvia was amazing! She took us to places we would not have come across on our own and gave us foods that did not include the typical pizza. She also pointed out great things for us to do and great places for food. She knew her material was very funny and kind. I would highly recommend her.

      An Adventure to experience
From start to finish, this tour was well planned and executed. Each supporting staff member preformed their duties with excellence and a very friendly attitude. Our first stop was at a village cafe which provided us with outstanding breakfast pastries and either tea or your choice of many types of coffee. We met the truffle hunter and his dog, then headed up the mountain. We climbed at a reasonable rate until we reached the truffle area, where the hunter worked with the dog to find the truffles. And he did! Giuseppe was most in lighting on the history and culture of the area. After, the dog found the truffles we were taken to La Corte die Filangieri in Candida and Chief Antonio prepared a seven course lunch featuring our truffles, and wines. What an experience that we will remember for years.

Disappointed - poor value for money.
Booked this after a fantastic food tour in Bologna and had high hopes for the Naples tour. Started well but soon faded as virtually all the street food eaten was nothing special and would've been cheaper to buy ourselves. For cost comparison the Bologna tour included a visit to pasta kitchen, a sit down lunch with wine all for about the same price. Host was very attentive and as a local gave lots of historical facts but the food element was poor value. Not one for foodies I'm afraid.

      Very good tour
I would recommend this tour to everyone who want to know about the history of the old town of Naples and who loves food (don’t eat breakfast before).

      Excellent tour.
We were a small group of 8 and met our guide outside the Castle Novou. Our guide was very enthusiastic about Naples and as well as experiencing a number of food contacts - coffee, salami, cheese, pasties, fried fish and gelato - we had a good explanation of Naples history.

An enjoyable introduction to the city
The castle start point was easily seen and accessed from the Naples cruise terminal. There were six of us plus the lovely guide. It was great wandering through the streets enjoying the atmosphere and food. We started with coffee and cakes, then further on we stopped for some cheeses and salami, including the best ricotta we have ever eaten. Other delights were fried fish and deep-fried pizza, which is a much nicer than it sounds. Our guide had excellent English and kept us all interested. This was all finished with some lovely gelato and chocolate.

One word to describe Tasting Campania Day Tours is EPIC!!!
One word to describe Tasting Campania Day Tours is EPIC!!! I hold a WSET Level 3 wine certification and I have also taken private wine tours in the regions of Chianti, Chianti Classico, and different AVA’s in Sonoma and Napa Valley. I have also visited a variety of wine regions with in the US. All of these visits were phenomenal but none compared to the tour Giuseppe put together! First off Giuseppe was very prompted to answering emails and text messages. He made sure all accommodations were met beyond expiations. My wife and I were staying in Sorrento which is an hour and half from Taurasi and Giuseppe made sure we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The first stop was Antico Castello Winery which is owned by the Romano family, which is ran by a brother and sister, Francesco and Chiara. We tried their Taurasi DOCG, Taurasi Riserva DOCG, and Mida all of these wines were out of this world (best part they will ship to the US). Giuseppe’s company is the only one that has a partnership with the Romano’s to allow his customers to taste the 2016, 2017, and 2018 vintage STRAIGHT FROM THE BARREL!! At the end of the tasting you have the opportunity to blend these three vintages for your very own wine that you can take home. This is a very unique experience that every wine lover needs to do! It would be a sin if I didn’t mention how great the Romano family is. During our visit the Romano family treated us like we were long lost cousins who came back to Italy. We had four courses of homemade anti pasta made by Francesco and Chiara mom. Next stop was a 7 course lunch at La Corte dei Filangieri prepared by Chef Antonio he is also a Sommelier. The food seemed like it would never end in a good way!! We had burrata in a simple tomato sauce, eggplant with buffalo mozzarella and tomato sauce, cheese stuffed ravioli in a pea sauce with a thin slice of pancetta, main course was a breaded pork loin in a Vinsanto reduction sauce with lemon whipped potatoes, and last but not least we had crème brulee for dessert. Chef Antonio was gracious enough to share a very unique bottle of wine from the Taurasi region. Third stop was to Cantine di Marzo located in Tufo, this vineyard was established in 1647 and is still owned by the original family. This vineyard is known for its Greco grape. The owner Ferrante took us around to show us the castle and he gave us a history lesson of Tufo which was very fascinating considering his family is the reason Tufo is there. Their white wines were top notch; I wish I was able to get them on a regular basis. Ferrante produces a beautiful sparkling Greco di Tufo which is done the traditional method. The last vineyard we visited was Cantine Antonio Caggiano. The owner is very much into art and his work is on display throughout the winery. Even wine was used to paint some of the pictures. At this winery Giuseppe will give the tour and he is very knowledgeable about this winery. We tasted the Taurasi DOCG, Falanghina, and the Bechar. The Taurasi DOCG was very nice and my favorite was the Bechar. Giuseppe surprised us with a visit with a Sommelier name Emilio in the town of Taurasi!! Emilio was fantastic with a huge personality. He was like your Italian uncle that knew everything about wine. He also had a very unique way to explain how to taste wine. Even if you’re a wine expert it is worth the time to stop and see Emilio. Not only was this the best wine experience it was also the highlight of my trip to Italy. If you plan on doing a wine tour in Taurasi you have to use Tasting Campania Day Tours, it’s like choosing a Ferrari over a Chevy! Giuseppe is the only guide in Taurasi that can set you up with a barrel tasting along with your very own bottle of wine that you make with the wine maker. I’m counting down the days until the next time I can join Giuseppe on another tour of Taurasi!! Thank again Giuseppe! Denny

One of the best tours we've ever been on!
Wow. This tour was incredible. Giuseppe was a fantastic guide. We toured a nougat factory, a prosuitto factory, an olive oil place and wineries. The first also had a museum and the wines were great. The owner, Antonio, only knew two phrases in English but so excited about showing his winery (and gave my daughter a painting he had made of his grounds simply because she had admired it). We ate in a great local agriturso restaurant for lunch, all local farm based. We then had a second wine tasting in a tiny place in Taurasi. And then there are the little things that really aren't part of a tour but that makes an experience special, such as the large suckling pig we saw in the village for a fest that night, and the interesting conversations with everyone. I'd take this tour again.

      Good tour
Very nice tour. We are not coffee people but we enjoyed the espresso. We especially enjoyed the sfogliatella. Enjoyed hearing the background of the street food and history. Good way to get acquainted with Naples and it's good tradition.
