Claudio, our driver was excellent. Alessandra gave us history as well as stories and anecdotes about Pompeii and explanation of the eruption as well as explaining new discoveries. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her subject. The tour was not too rushed but also mindful of not holding up other groups following. We booked this tour months in advance. They cancelled our tour less than two days (and zero business days) before it was scheduled to occur, which does not give us much time to find another similar tour. We were told it was because too few people signed up for the tour. Even if this were a legitimate reason to cancel, they would certainly have known more than two days before the tour and could have, and should have, let us know further in advance so that we could book through another company. We are particularly surprised and disappointed that they didn’t give us any heads up because we had emailed with them just a few days prior with a few questions about the tour and they gave us zero indication that the tour may be cancelled when they responded.

Our tour guide was extremely disrespectful and condescending.
When I asked “How was Menander related to emperor Nero?”, he literally responded, in front of all the other participants, “Didn’t they teach you history in high school? It’s astonishing how this new generation has no culture. All they do is spend their time on social media.”
He was also very monotonous, unlike the other guides we had, who were cheerful and excited to convey their knowledge in an interesting way.
Out of all the tours we booked on Trip Advisor, this was our least favourite and left us very underwhelmed. It’s disappointing considering it was a full day tour and we were looking forward to it.
I would still recommend you to visit Pompeii, it is very interesting to see and the hike up Mount Vesuvius was quite pleasant. I just hope you get a different guide and a better experience.

While staying in Italy Campania, I wanted to visit Pompei and Vesuvio and I found this trip and was glad to have organised trip, I did not have to worry about the travelling, guide,... The guide was really nice, cheerful, she had fluent English and gave us a lot of information. However, there was one not so good aspect - the tour was bilingual (also in French because of some Canadians) that made the trip longer that could be, and the larger part of the group speaking English were a little bit annoyed when had to wait all the time for the French talk, I recommend unilingual tours. Thanks a lot for the trip annyways.. Andrea

A lot of people had said better to go on one's own and not bother with an excursion. Others even said Pompeii not really worth seeing. Just as well I ignored both. It was really hot and faffing about on public transport and then walking around Pompeii figuring what to see would have been exhausting. The excursion was comfortable, informative and interesting. Giuseppe the guide was great and kudos to the bus driver for his skill on those winding, narrow coastal roads. Vesuvius was amazing and had I attempted to go on my own may have not bothered. Absolutely worth it.

Our guide Alessandra was amazing, her enthusiastic manner had us spellbound, so much knowledge delivered clearly in French & English.. it was very hot 32c & she managed to find shady areas for our respite whilst giving us so much information.Pompeii was perhaps the most memorable although the views from Vesuvius were stunning , worth the 30 minute walk in the heat, walking shoes essential as the pathway is volcanic ash/ shingle.
Pick up time & drop off was as advertised. Thanks to Alessandra a truly memorable experience.

First things first: Alessandra, our guide, was excellent. She was super accommodating, very resourceful, and really friendly throughout the whole experience. I can probably say this for a lot of people in our group: she was very impressive with her amount of knowledge of Pompeii and to walk us through the site in the heat and a massive crowd of other visitors and tour groups while still making the information digestible and comprehendable is a massive feat. Definitely need to applaud Alessandra on that one.
Claudio (I hope I spelled his name right) was our driver and he navigated through the curves of Amalfi and our way to Pompeii and Vesuvius with so much ease. He was also incredibly friendly and humorous :). I felt super safe in the shuttle with his driving!
The tour itself was great. I was really moved by the history and the wealth of information I took in during the tour. Pompeii is definitely flooded with visitors, but with the right guide (Alessandra!), it's definitely worth it. We also drove up to Vesuvius and did a 30-45min hike up to the top, and the views were amazing - you get to see practically all of the coast and bits and pieces of Naples.
One thing to note: our tour was half English, half Italian. I didn't find any issue with this, because while she talked in Italian, she motioned for the English-speakers to look around while she translated, and when it was our turn, she did the same to the Italian-speakers. I thought it was pretty well-balanced.
Another thing to note: on our way back to Amalfi, my mom realized that she lost her wallet - I could've sworn she must had left it in the hotel, because she didn't use any money that. day. We frantically searched the shuttle bus and retraced our steps, and the only place other than the hotel would have to be in Pompeii, which is practically a lost cause. But Alessandra took note of this and reassured us that if they find anything in Pompeii, she'll let us know, since all tour guides are in a group chat and they go back and forth on lost-and-found items. My mom and I were feeling a bit dejected, since it's nearly impossible to retrieve an item let alone a wallet where there's a ton of people in a tourist attraction... but lo and behold, a few hours later, Alessandra called the hotel and said they found it! Someone had turned it into the police. Alessandra was kind enough to lay out the details to our hotel on where our taxi driver should drop us off - she basically coordinated everything. I was amazed at her level of thoughtfulness and care even after the tour when usually, people could care less.
If I could give this tour and Alessandra 10 stars, I would. I would definitely recommend this.

I think there was so much value added having such a great guide leading a long walk through the ruins of Pompeii as opposed to simply going on my own. It was really a great experience and a downright steal for the price.

The tour was brilliant, on time with clear instructions throughout the day. Tour guide passionate and informative about his tour, good English thank goodness. Bus driver superb on difficult roads. Great scenery, Pompeii guided tour excellent, a hard walk to the top of Vesuvius in the heat but made the day for us. Tip, wear shoes not open toes for the walk. We can't recommend the whole day highly enough.

Pompeii - we could visit for a week and still be amazed by this fabulous historical marvel! It is one of a kind, even if you've seen ruins before. Nothing compares!
