- cynthiawO3084MR0 contributionsA Fantastic Experience with Travel and Bike in the Venetian Islands and Brenta Riviera Countryside! We absolutely loved Travel and Bike! We did a day from Chiagga, through the Venetian Islands, to the B and B in Dolo. Gianluca and Monica were fantastic hosts! They answered so many questions, shuttled us, provided very nice bikes and a beautiful delicious breakfast on the River Brenta. I highly recommend this company!Written September 22, 2024
- F9620GRrebeccab0 contributionsAbove and beyond serviceOur 4 day self-bike tour: "Venice and Venician Villages" w private bike tour of Padova, was outstanding! The bikes, luggage transfer, b&b's, English communication, husband/wife team, private tour guide, peaceful river/canal routes, flexibility, bike paths/infrastructure, suggestions, advice, prompt responses, affordability, were the best. Do not hesitate to reach out to "Travel and Bike" for your alternate, more comprehensive understanding beyond Venice of the area and its history and to avoid any and all crowds. We had to change our dates and I was so sure I messed up our payment and chance for this tour to proceed, but to our relief, we were accommodated, in addition, our host offered to shuttle us to our hotel. The service was above and beyond all expectations and forever memorable. Thank you!Written September 21, 2024

- eleanorrZ8311OM0 contributionsComfortable and reliable bikes for a bike packing tripThe bikes were great: well serviced and comfortable. We used them on a 7-day bike packing trip covering 420 km. Some of the terrain was gravel and some was very rough gravel. The bikes were sturdy and got us through everything. The team in Marghera were friendly and helpful (including a great recommendation for a local restaurant on a quiet Monday afternoon when we returned the bikes!)Written July 1, 2024
- Z9958JImanfredg0 contributionsSolo bike tourI can warmly recommend Travel & Bike! The booking by e-mail was uncomplicated, I received an answer immediately. My cycle tour from Maghera to just before Padua and back was very impressive. The pick-up and drop-off service was excellent. The staff are very, very friendly. I was delighted. L'Italia! Va bene!!! My personal tip: Villa Foscari. Great! Unfortunately I am not allowed to publish any photos.Written May 16, 2024
- fedya610 contributionsReliable and niceWe've rented two touring bikes for 11 days trip Marghera - Verona - around Garda Lake - Padova - Marghera. Rental interface on site was a bit tricky but following communication was easy and quick. Any question got answered immediately. Coming to "Travel & Bike" we found the owner waiting for us with our bikes equipped with lights and odometers. Got helmets and repairing kit. Bikes were well maintained as well. All in all it's been a great experience. Definitely recommended!Written May 8, 2024
- Tarzan43750 contributionsCycling the Brenta CanalWe were two families of eight people (including 4 teenagers / young adults) and hired 8 bikes to cycle along the Brenta Canal from Villa Pisani at Stra to Dolo and then on to Mira before cycling back to Villa Pisani at Stra again (where we had left our cars). Travel & Bike (Monica, then Gianluca) were there to meet us at both ends, all the bikes were in great condition and worked perfectly. They helped us to work out the best routes and timings before we left. We had a great day out relaxing in the Veneto countryside before braving the tourist trail of Venice. Thank you very much indeed !Written March 30, 2024
- younglachie0 contributionsTravel and Bike Cycle ride from Bolzano to VeniceGianlucca, at Travel and Bike (which is based in Mestre near Vencie), organised a wonderful bike tour for us from Bolzano to Venice. We found Travel and Bike by doing a google map search in Mestre for bike hire shops. Travel and Bike is hard to find by doing a google search as there are pages of hits for the global bike hire companies who pay for their priority in the search results. We prefer to use local operators. We rented e-bikes and they were in excellent condition and performed without fault. Navigation instructions were in the form of GPX coordinates, which we were not familiar with, but with Gianluca's help we downloaded an App called Pocket Earth, and easily loaded the coordinates into an iPhone and low and behold, there was our route mapped out on a map of northern Italy for us. We rarely lost our route, and never for very long. Daily stages were doable for us (70s) on e-bikes, but younger people would probably find it doable on normal bikes. However, there was not much time in the itinerary to explore the cities on the route except for Vincenza (which is the best anyway!). I think Gianlucca could add rest days into the itinerary if you wanted more time to explore the cities. The accommodation was all very good to excellent. The route starts in Bolzano, and follows a bike path along the Adige River down stream through vineyards and orchards. There are some cafes right on the bike path (although these may close in the colder months) but there are also small towns with cafes. On the second day there is a picturesque descent to Lake Garda. The ferry leaves at about 3.15 pm and takes 4-5 hours (depending on how many stops it makes) to get to Riva del Garda at the other end of the lake, where you disembark and do a short ride to the next hotel. Our ferry was an hour late arriving, and we had to do this short section at night. There is then some riding on quiet back roads, with great views of the Italian alps. We were never stressed by the traffic. Italian drivers here are incredibly respectful to cyclists. We finished our ride in Dolo, where Gianlucca has a bed and breakfast. Dolo is a delightful small regional centre on the Brenta river about 30 kms from Venice with excellent restaurants used entirely by locals. None of them are the pasta/pizza places you encounter everywhere in tourist centres. In fact our policy when riding into any of the major towns was to have coffee, pastries, or lunch in local cafes somewhat away from the centre of the towns where there are so many tourists eating pasta or pizzas. Gianluca speaks great English, and his arrangements for our tour worked perfectly. Our luggage was always waiting for us at the hotels when we arrived.Written October 18, 2023

- 99yvetteb0 contributionsAmazing service/extremely knowledgeableAmazing experience with Travel and Bike. A friend and I decided to bike the majority of the veneto ring over 4 days. We rented bikes, locks, helmets, and saddle bags for a very reasonable price. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and was able to provide important advice on trains/ferries that made our trip so much smoother. When one of our tires was punctured a couple kilometers from the end of our trip they even were able to come meet us there to retrieve the rentals. Exceptional service that genuinely improved the experience of our biking trip.Written August 25, 2023
- Discover6659410 contributionsGreat option for bike toursWe had a great trip. They were able to pick us up from the airport to transfer to the hotel and get us our bikes for a 6 day trip down the Parenzana. Everything worked perfectly and they were great and helpful hostsWritten July 1, 2023
- crustycalves0 contributionsI can't recommend this tour enough!!We had a fantastic time on the beautiful bike ride in the Venice countryside. We enjoyed the stop for coffee and pastry halfway through our adventure, and our final stop for cicchette at the end. We passed by gorgeous villas and Gianluca allowed us as much time as we wanted to stop and tour or take pictures. I highly recommend this tour! For us it was a wonderful break from the Easter chaos in Venice.Written April 10, 2023

We parked our car in one of the parking lots right before the bridge for 5 € per day. First they didn’t want to accept our car because it had the bike carrier but we ‘convinced’ them we would remove the carrier after we take the bikes, which we did. The bike lane was decent, not too narrow. The view was amazing, we loved it. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a free place to park our bikes on our arrival, so we had to park them in the private bike parking garage. We paid 10 € for each bike for about 8 hours parking in a ‘box’ in which you put your bike, super safe but expensive, especially considering how much we paid for parking our car.

Thanks for your review. Parking in Venice is allowed by government only in Piazzale Roma. We know it could be a little expensive for one day but you have your own box storage to leave you bags too inside. It is not managed from us. Anyway the road along the bridge is so cute and nice. Thanks!
