- thomassS5341HB0 contributionsFun Food Experience in LecceWe had a great time making pasta and trying wines during this experience in Lecce. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during the class and it was nice to try local wines paired with snacks. The best part was getting to share a meal with all the friends we made during the class. A great way to spend a few hours in Lecce.Written September 23, 2024
- annebQ1363CR0 contributionsHighly recommend this class and experience!Great experience - friendly host family, very attentive to helping us and making the event a great adventure. Full time used, plus more as we made, cooked, and ate what we made, tied in with wine tasting for local wineries and with each course.Written September 14, 2023
- brianbollwage0 contributionsVery disappointingFirst our guide changed the time of our tour from 9:30 AM to 2;30 PM with very little notice. On the day of the tour the guide showed up 20 minutes late with no explanation or apology. The tour that is described on Viator sounds very nice. We were looking forward to stops for food and wine as described which did not occur. THe guide said "he decided" it was best to do a single stop for food and wine after the ride was over. That would be fine if we had booked that but read the description and they're still selling 9:30 tours with the same false description. I would expect a full refund from Viator and I'll be interested to see if they do the right thing. At the end of the tour the guide got nasty when I brought these deficiencies to his attention. Avoid Daniele, he's not a guide that should be showing guests the sites of Puglia. The scenary was ,at times, breathtaking in spite of Daniele's shortcomings.Written May 25, 2019

Lisa and Fabio are phenomenal. We arrived as pasta-gnostic, meaning we usually bought dried pasta and would occasionally splurge for store-bought fresh pasta. But make it ourselves? Only did that once in a cooking class in Orvieto. Orecchiette? We saw the women in Bari make that on a Stanley Tucci episode of In Search of Italy. But there was no way we could do that.
Lisa and Fabio proved us wrong, Showed us alternatives for simple sauces and even simpler pasta. Semolina and water? Really? Where is the egg? Fabio was great showing me that even fat fingers will not limit your orecchiette readiness.
We loved learning about their traditions and life in Lecce. Fabio served great local wines that complimented the many appetizers Lisa made, including warm multigrain bread that went so well with everything.
We were sad to leave our new food friends, but two days after our return home, i made orecchiette and cherry tomato sauce for Mother's Day. And while it was not as delicate as i achieved in their class and home, it was a wonderful way to relive our few hours learning to cook as Lisa and Fabio do.

Lisa and Fabio were lovely hosts and excellent instructors. They picked us up at the meeting point and welcomed us in their home. Our experience felt like spending time with long-time friends over dinner, despite having just met everyone that day. Throughout the evening they served appetizers, patiently taught us how to make pasta Orechiette and Macheroni al ferro, indulged us with plenty food and engaging conversations. Overall, we had a fantastic and memorable time. We enjoyed a truly authentic Italian dinner experience. I can't wait to try the recipes and impress our friends and families!

My wife and I took this pasta making class during our visit to Lecce. We weren’t sure what to expect as we met Lisa and her husband Fabio near Porta Napoli. They drove us to their home where the pasta making stations were set out on their kitchen table. They were wonderful hosts! Lisa provided excellent instructions on how to make orecchiette, fusilli, and cavatelli. She had two different pots of sauce cooking for our lunch after making the pasta. We took a break and enjoyed some wine and cheese in their yard which was wonderful! Then we finished making the pasta and sat down to enjoy the fruits of our labor...with more wine! We even met their sons who live with them. The class was very good as was spending the afternoon in such excellent company... having some good conversations about a range of things and getting to know Lisa and Fabio. After Fabio and Lisa dropped us off near our hotel, we realized that we had forgotten the recipes so we emailed Lisa and she provided the recipes immediately! This is an opportunity to make pasta and new friends and we highly recommend this class. And BTW, Fabio takes great pictures!

Fabio and Lisa were great hosts. Such amazing and lovely people. Were on time to pick us up from the exact meeting spot, they welcomed us into their home with such tasty foods. The class was fun and food was very yummy. Would definitely do it again when we return to lecce.

We had booked this experience directly with curioseety on their website. My wife was looking forward to this experience the most during our stay in Lecce. We went to the meeting place and found no one. We looked through all our emails in case something was sent announcing a change or anything of the sort. After reaching out to Curioseety, we were informed the operator forgot about this booking. Unfortunately this was towards the end of our stay and we could not reschedule. I understand things happen but communicating this to your clients is key. We did get a prompt refund which we appreciate but I don't appreciate the response my wife's review received where it was claimed they tried to call and contact us because the host had covid. No one called or emailed, believe me that we would understand and would not have been waiting at night under the gate for 30 minutes wondering what is going on. Attached is a picture of the response we got after we reached out to Curioseety.

We booked this experience weeks in advance. It was one of the experiences I was most looking forward to in Italy. We go to the meeting place in the confirmation email, wait around for 25 minutes and no one shows. We finally get ahold of someone and we're told that the host completely forgot about our booking. We were asked if we could reschedule, but it was the end of our trip so we couldn't. We did get a refund in a timely manner which is something, but doesn't make up for the loss of this experience that I was really excited about.
Based on previous reviews and my experience, this company seems very unreliable. I would definitely book with a different company.

Not only did we learn how to make two types of pasta, but we were welcomed into Lisa and Fabio's home as if we were long lost friends that needed all night to catch up.
I arranged for this class for our second night in the Puglia region. My goal was to meet with locals who could share with my family the local traditions, foods, and must-see sights from a perspective other than a guide book.
There were five in our group. Me, my wife, two college age daughters and a 16 year old quiet (shy) boy. Lisa gave us skillful guidance and Fabio was an excellent coach for my son. He patiently walked him through the precise method of rolling out orechetti and macaroncini pastas. By the end of the cooking, my boy was an enthusiast.
We talked to them about the history of Puglia, local places to check out, music, art, and surfing.
If we return to Puglia, I would happily pay for this time all over, just to share their company.
Appetizers, wine, pasta, and dessert, were all amazing.
Highly recommend.

A great experience, with wonderful hosts. We learned to make various types of pastas and then enjoyed a lovely meal with nice wine. The hosts made us feel welcome, we’re chatty and provided lots of information on the process, the recipes and on Lecce it’s self. We would highly recommend this as a must do activity in Lecce.

An extraordinary welcome with extremely kind hosts. A multicolored and local aperitif awaited us.
Lisa is a pasta magician. Everything becomes simple with its clear demonstrations.
Tasting the pasta accompanied by homemade sauces and an excellent Primitimo delighted our taste buds
We recommend 100%

Simply a must do experience if in lecce with wonderful hosts Lisa and Stefy. If you love Italy, then learning to make pasta is a must and getting to eat it is even better! Sometimes we all forget that great food comes from simplicity and great ingredients and this is what you learn through this experience. We laughed, cooked and learned in a relaxed and comfortable environment. When you have fun time flies by and we both really enjoyed the whole experience.

Hi there, we are visiting Lecce from 10th to 19th June and would love to take part in your cooking class. I have a problem with my breathing and get breathless walking around too far or up hills/stairs, will this be a problem? We are staying at Canne Bianche in Torre Canne. Thanks
