The personal resources and guide experience makes Incitur Tours an incredible way to see the most detail, of the most interesting sites, in Civitavecchia and the surroundingTuscan countryside. You lose no time with looking over maps and generic guidebooks. Pamela Marchetti helped us arrange transportation from the airport and provided advice for our hotel selection, prior to arriving in Italy. Then she booked with us for a full day tour of Tarquinia and a morning tour of the historic Civitavecchia seaport.
We dove deep into the origins of Etruscan settlements and an underground collection of burials from over 2,000 years ago, to envision the tribes who were later absorbed into the Roman Empire. The artwork in the tombs is unforgettable.
The Etruscan Museum artifacts were taken directly from local excavations. Tarquinia is also a preservation of Medieval buildings, with current businesses and homes in centuries old structures.
The Roman port in Civitavecchia shows off the ancient remains of city walls, where Pamela arranged for us to visit a warehouse constructed within the wall for use by ancient merchants, and still in use today.
Several such surprises, as well as a midday meal at an authentic countryside cafe, made our pre-cruise stay the highlight of our Mediterranean visit. Only a private guide like Pamela can share local insights and ease of travel between towns. We hope to return again to tour with her and her wonderful associates.

We booked a tour of Civitavecchia with Incitur before our cruise because once you are on the cruise ship only excursions offered by the ship are permitted. We were not disappointed with our small group tour with Pamela Marchetti as our guide and docent. Her love of her city was apparent as she took us to the most important parts of the city. She was able to impart her love and knowledge of the city to us as she took us around the city. We were delighted with the end of the tour when she surprised us with an unexpected stop at an apartment that had previously unknown works of Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, better known as Raphael. The art works were a precursor to his art found in the Vatican. What an amazing experience. We highly recommend this tour to all cruise goers.

We thank you very much for your positive review and we're so glad you appreciated our guided visit and approach to the city's history. Civitavecchia has nearly 2000 years' history and very interesting hidden pearls such as the private fresco piantings so similar to those by Raphael in the Vatican Rooms! We hope to welcome you back in our territory in the future!

They arranged pick up at airport in Rome and booked a beautiful hotel in Civitavecchia a few days before our sailing cruise from the port. They arranged a tour of the nearby City of Tolfa as a short day trip the day before our cruise with a wonderful guide Luisiana. Civitavecchia is a beautiful small walkable town . If you are cruising out of there I would highly rd recommend using their service to pickup at airport and for there many days trips they offer out of Civitavecchia to the surrounding areas and Rome.

Paola and her team were efficient and professional at all times. We were a large family group and everyone appreciated the attention to detail, the knowledgeable guides, headsets, delicious lunch on a shaded terrace (Rome) and the humour of our Florence guide. He managed to keep the attention of us all with humour, interesting facts and unusual stories. I would certainly recommend Incitur to anyone visiting Rome or Florence, you will not be disappointed.

We had about 4 hours in the afternoon before boarding Viking ship. There were no tours available on the website. We called and arranged a private tour. The lovely guide took us through town and the
hen to a private home where an extraordinary elderly man walked us up 4 flights to an upper room wirer 1500-era wall fresco(maybe a Raphael associate work) was able to be viewed- magnificent. we ended by having a wine/antipasta tasting. It was a beautiful and unexpected afternoon.

We had a fantastic day with Paola, she gave us expert advice what and where to eat, so we had authentic italian food experience. She is also a knowledgable and enthusiastic local guide who obviously knows Civitavecchia inside out and we were happy that she shared her knowledge with us.
We also got to visit the Raphael frescos which was absolutely breathtaking and would not have been possible without her local knowledge.
It was one of the best day we had while in Italy!:)

My husband and I booked with Incitur last year and had a lovely tour of Civitavecchia. We had already been to Rome and we were looking for something different far away from the crowded highlights of the big touristic cities. We were extremely satisfied! Incitur can boast top notch guides, organization and Customer care. Pamela was our guide. She was very attentive, knowledgeable, personable and spoke a fluent and very good English! She welcomed us so warmly and we were thrilled by her enthusiasm and passionate guided visit!
Civitavecchia is a very interesting city to discover! We were amazed to see so many ancient and artistic highlights which I don't want to spoil. Pamela gave us some very nice gadgets made by Incitur and told us about the passion that the Incitur team shares for incoming tourism! If we will come back to Italy, we will definitely contact them again! Thanks Pamela, thanks Incitur!

We had already been to Rome and we wanted to stay in town, despite someone on board had told us Civitavecchia had nothing interesting to see. Fortunately we didn't trust them and decided to book a private tour with this tour company, as It had very good reviews. Definetively it was the right decision! The city is worth the visit and Incitur is very professional. Guides are excellent! Pamela was our host, our tour guide and a member of Incitur. She was so informative and lovely! Don't stay on the ship, take a tour with Incitur

Since we had already spent lots of time in Rome, we chose this walking tour of Civitavecchio when our cruise ship docked here. Pamela met our party of 3 and two others near the cruise terminal. She spoke excellent English and gave us a very informative walking tour of the port area and old city. This is an ancient city with lots of history. This part of the tour was 2 1/2 hours long and probably would have been better if it was 2 hours. The highlight was a visit to a building in the old city where murals made in the 16th century were discovered in the 1970's. They were nearly identical to paintings by Raphael in the Vatican and thought to be by him or a student of his. After the historical part of the tour we visited the market. Then we stopped at a wonderful bakery for local pasteries, a winery for tasting, and a local pizzeria to sample several varieties of pizza. It was a fair amount of walking, but very interesting. The food tasting part was really fun and a great change of pace. This was a nice alternative to Rome if you have already spent lots of time there. Pamela was great and we felt like the tour was a good value for the price.

We had already been to see the sights of Rome on a previous trip so were not interested in going all the way back into the city during our cruise stop at the Port of Rome. Instead we booked the Incitur Walking Tour of the port. We were not disappointed. It was wonderful. I never would have guessed that the port would have such an interesting history and beautiful sites. I can't remember our guide's name but I believe it was something like "Alisha". She was excellent. There was definitely no need to take the long ride into Rome to get a taste of Italy's amazing history. Thank you, Incitur.

We are 4 adults who are scheduled to leave Civitavecchia on a Carnival cruise on 1 October 2022. Our flight to Rome arrives at FCO around 8 am and our cruise departs Civitavecchia at 7 pm which leaves us with a lot of time in Civitavecchia, so, we would like to take a short 2-4 hour tour of the city.
We are thinking about reserving a transfer from FCO to the cruise port at 9 am.
Can you help us to reserve a tour for 4 adults on October 1, 2022 and also help us with where we can leave our luggage while on the tour?
Thank you

We are scheduled to leave Civitavecchia for a cruise beginning 10/1/2022.
Our flight to FCO arrives around 8am and our cruise departs about 7pm the same day.
4 seniors would like a tour of Civitavecchia that doesn't include Rome (which we've been to before)..
If we get a transfer to the Port can we arrange for a 3 or 4 hour tour of Civitavecchia and get back to the ship by 4 or 5pm?? If so what is the total cost for 4 seniors and what time would the tour begin from Civitavecchia?
Thank you

We did a walking tour and "food tasting" tour of Civitavecchio with Incitur in May. It was excellent. Not sure you have time with needing to be at the airport at 12:30. I would contact that travel company and see if they can accommodate you. The historical parts of town are all within walking distance of the port, but to get the most out of it you need a guide.
