      Great tour of Pompeii.
My daughter and I had a fantastic tour with Ornella. She was knowledgeable, clearly set the tune on the tone for the two of us. Ornella was clearly interested and enthusiastic both about the historical subject matter, as well as providing a quality service as a guide. She also nicely tolerated our tardiness because of transportation issues and facilitated buying tickets with no fuss. Truly appreciated the tour.

      Pompeii late afternoon tour
Gennaro was a great guide and walked at a nice pace giving us great insight into ancient Pompeii before the eruption. Would definitely recommend this tour - especially as it is later in the day after the larger crowds and heat have dissipated.

A view of Sorrento that we would never had seen without our exceptional guide.
The guide was exceptionally good. Well informed, interesting and very helpful. And he was a real local. He told us about the nativity scene in the Cathedral and we then saw them in other churches. We returned to one shop and a trattoria that he suggested and were pleased that we did.

A very worthwhile extra to add to your visit to Pompeii
The Villa of Mysteries - additional Eur8 charge. Well worth it. This site is just outside of Pompeii proper which you can reach via the necropolis - street of tombs. The art-work here is exceptional because of the life sized figures. It reminds me so much of early Renaissance Art by Masaccio / Masolino in Florence - Cappella Brancacci. The board describes the scene vignettes to help explain what is being depicited.

A Visit to Pompeii & Sorrento
We started the day by meeting our guide, Roberta (via Tour Guide Naples), just outside the port of Naples where we took the local metro and express train out to Pompeii (she bought all our tickets for us as part of the tour). Our private tour enabled us to skip the large entry line into the site which got us ahead of the very large crowds at Pompeii. Roberta has an archeological background and was part of the Pompeii site dig, so she was full of many helpful and fascinating facts during our walking tour. Pompeii is so expansive that you could spend several days there seeing new sites, but Roberta did a wonderful job hitting the major highlights and getting us to popular locations ahead of the large crowds and lines. I believe we spent at least 2-2.5 hours there! We were supposed to go to Capri, but the rough seas caused quite the ferry delay and was no guarantee that we could get back in time for our cruise port departure. So, Roberta organized a pivot and planned for us to drive to Sorrento, taking in the beautiful coastline views through the small villages along the way. We had a lovely lunch at a local spot in Sorrento (absolutely delicious pizza, huge calzone, amazing house wine and a free limoncello to finish it off). Roberta then gave us a walking/historical tour of Sorrento with a little bit of time leftover for shopping before we had to make the return trip back to the cruise. It was a lovely way to spend our time in the areas surrounding Naples!

      Fabulous tour of Sorrento
Fabulous tour with Guilia today. Guilia was very knowledgeable about origins iof Sorrento and all of Italy. We visited local artisans, historical church and hidden gems we would have not have found on our own. Stopped at coffee/pastry shop for delicious pastries. Viewed ancient ruins. Guilia was so pleasant. The time flew by. Thank you, Guilia, for a wonderful tour.

Laura excelled as a tour guide in every way. We learned a great deal about the local culture/history and tasted pastries, espresso and lemoncello delights. Laura was warm and friendly. She shared fun local spots for dining with us. She exceeded my expectations in every way!

Pompeii through the eyes of an Historian
My husband and I wanted to get the most out of our three hour tour and our PHD Historian Ornella, did not disappoint. Her in-depth knowledge of ancient civilizations added to the amazing story of Pompeii and its contributions to our present day society. Ornella comfortably answered our many questions throughout the tour. She graced us with a touch of her humor as well.

      Brilliant trip
We had a brilliant morning walking around Sorrento. Our guide Roberta was so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much about her beloved home town that we would never have known and ventured to areas I am sure we wouldn’t have found on our own. Highly recommend Roberta and this trip. Thank you Roberta x

È stata la nostra prima volta alla Reggia di Caserta! A febbraio.
