About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ecallawx20 contributionsMuscat City LimitsWhat a great choice to take a 3 hour guided tour of Muscat on a long stopover. We had our visas but it was not easy to leave the airport where we had a hotel room. We made it happen & Saif of Sunshine Tours greeted us & took us on an amazing visit of the city & surrounds. Now, we want to go back for a longer visit. There is a lot to see.Written April 29, 2024
- Johanna V0 contributionsCool and Green OmanWabar Tours took me on a full day trip to the mountains. The guide Saif and the driver were professional and nice. We went at an altitude of over 2,000 meters! the scenery was breathtaking. We also went to the souks of Nizwa. I saw abandoned villages and a terraced rose garden on the mountainside. We drank coffee and karak tea many times, tasted dates and halva. Lunch was enjoyed in a pleasant climate high up with goats walking nearby. An unforgettable day!Written October 6, 2022
- MoghaniALABAMA0 contributionsIn midst of virus Oman Tours best!We had scheduled day tours of Muscat and Salalah and was in Dubai awaiting our cruise on March 12th. We had private tours with Oman Tours reserved. They were wonderful in cancellations! We had to ASAP return to USA first plane available due to our government request or be quarantined at end of cruise in Europe. We will return next year to finish our tours of Oman and will request Sarah to help us again with our plans. She is excellent. Thanks again and see you next year!Written March 26, 2020
- nasjuma0 contributionsJamal as our tour guideOur guide Jamal was extremely professional and was knowledgeable with the sites we visited. He was very kind, polite, humble and treated us as royalty. We were thoroughly impressed with Muscat sights and sounds. The reason was Jamal who made our visit very enjoyable. Thank you Jamal I recommend you to any one who visits Muscat as a tour guide. Five Stars. Nasim JumaWritten February 8, 2020
- Cairo550 contributionsAMAZING Oman!I have just returned from my 10-day trip to Oman and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience thanks to Khalifa and Abdullah, my great tour guides! They made my stay there truly unforgettable! I’m a female traveling solo. I was on a tight budget but Khalifa and Abdullah were able to work things out to accommodate me. They suggested the itinerary for me, drove me safely around the locations, provided me with assistance with an excellent choice of lodging as well as variety of local eating opportunities. But most important, they put their hearts and love to their country in everything they did! They are both honest, respectful, reliable, patient, very attentive, accommodating, funny and friendly. Their knowledge of the geography and history of Oman is immense and truly mind blowing. They went above and beyond to make me feel safe and welcome in this beautiful country. Moreover, their hospitality cannot be measured; I was honored to share lunch with their families in their private homes! I don’t think I would have such great opportunity to immerse myself in the history, beauty, and hospitality of Oman if it wasn’t for Khalifa and Abdullah. I feel very fortunate to have met them and used their impeccable services. I highly, again, highly recommend them to anyone who desires to have a true experience in this amazing country!!Written January 3, 2020
- Travelling_Turtle840 contributionsExcellent day outTook this tour during our visit to Muscat, and cannot rate highly enough. We were picked up at the exact time at the hotel and saw all the main sights of Muscat. Our guide, Mazin, was very knowledgeable and friendly and took the time to tell us about all the sights we were visiting and the history of the country. It was really good to have the local knowledge on a tour like this. We saw all the main sights, including the Grand Mosque, the Royal Palace and the Souk. In the souk, the guide showed us a number of shops to buy local items. Overall this was an excellent tour, and showed us round the city in a way we wouldn't be able to ourselves and represented very good value for money. Highly recommend!Written December 17, 2019
- rebeccaoTomorrows0 contributionsBest guide in OmanI came to Oman and was not sure what to do as a single person traveling. I found Basim Al Habsi through a referral from another guide. Basim is kind and funny. He knows everything about Oman and goes out of his way so that everything is special for his guests. You will never feel so safe or cared for. The Omanis are special people. It really wouldn't matter where I was in the world because the real gift of going to Oman was meeting Basim. He is the best.Written December 16, 2019
- Ian L0 contributionsAwe Inspiring ViewsOur trip to Nizwa and up Jebal Akhdar was wonderful! Our tour guide, Abdullah, was kind and knowledgeable, and he never rushed us. Jebal Akhdar was definitely the highlight of the day, with the ride up the mountain offering amazing views across Oman. I was in awe that people lived atop the mountains. What a beautiful place to make a home. For me the best part was, as the mountains rise rather sharply, how the land seemed to just drop off leaving beautiful, open skies.Written November 15, 2019
- DesiGulliver0 contributionsIncredible Visit to Muscat, Wadi Shab, Nizwa, and Jebel Akhdar with private guide Basim Al-Habsi.I spent a great few days in Oman seeing the sights of Muscat City, shopping in the Souks, hiking and swimming in Wadi Shab, and visiting Nizwa Fort, the Bimmah Sinkhole, and the Jebel Akhdar Mountains. Oman is a wonderful, safe, and welcoming country with both urban sights to take in and natural places to visit such as the mountains, wadis, beaches, and deserts. Initially prior to booking my trip, as a solo female traveler, I was a little apprehensive about visiting Oman on my own. However, once I met my guide, Basim, at the airport I knew I was in good hands. Prior to booking the trip he was extremely prompt in replying to my email inquiries and in arranging an itinerary with my input; while in Oman he was flexible as I arrived half a day late and he rearranged my tours so that I could still fit everything I wanted into my visit, his car was spacious and clean, he was punctual, informative, hospitable, humorous, and entertaining. I am an avid traveler, having traveled to nearly 70 countries, I have met many guides along the way, and I can say with all sincerity that Basim is one of the best guides I have come across. I would highly recommend visiting Oman to all my family and friends, and if they do so I will surely be giving them Basim's contact information. A 5 star experience!!Written September 23, 2019
- elfree900 contributionsWadi Shab, Dolphin and SnorkellingSpent a lovely day in Wadi Shab with fabulous guide Abdullah. Really enjoyed our day and the company made sure everything was provided for us including life jackets for nervous swimmers. We also did a dolphin and snorkelling trip the next day and again everything was organised to perfection. Would highly recommend this company for their organisation and helpfulness.Written June 16, 2019
- mistereks0 contributionsA brief exploration of Omani cultureWe had a short, but very enjoyable time in Oman. (We arrived on a cruise ship and were in Salalah for only about six hours.) Hassan was a marvelous guide, helping us to understand the culture and traditions of Oman, and also of Islam with our visit to the beautiful mosque. Everything worked out exactly as arranged, we got to see quite a bit of Salalah, and even got to try camel meat, a delicacy not available here in California!Written June 8, 2019
- Quindigo550 contributionsFabulous and unique scenery for hiking and swimming! It had been raining heavily in April the week before we went hiking/swimming the Wadi Shab, and I was under the impression that there's not usually so much water. Most of the hiking was actually through shallow water (I would definitely bring something other than tennis shoes). The trail was mostly clear of debris and easy to walk - other than an occasional slippery rock or two when crossing the water. When we finally reached the swimming "pool" at the end, we swam through an entrance that looked almost too narrow. There was room enough for one person to go through at a time, but definitely not for the claustrophobic! The current was swift and strong (again, I believe this was unusual due to the rain), so we clung onto the walls, then swam back out. This was definitely an activity I would recommend in Oman!Written May 6, 2019
- randor640 contributionsIncredible Tours - More Incredible GuideWe booked the Wadi Shab and Muscat City tours over two days. Both tours were better than expected. For anyone remotely physically able to hike, I highly recommend the Wadi Shab tour. Bring a swimsuit and a towel, as well as some hiking boots/shoes or water socks. You will hike up the wadi, crossing the water multiple times, for approximately 3 miles. At the destination you will find beautiful pools of water that are warm and inviting to swim in. Swimming up the connecting pools and stream you will find a hidden cave with a waterfall inside. A spectacular view, well worth the trek. We also did the Muscat City tour, seeing the Qaboos Grand Mosque, old town, museum, palace and the Old Town Souq. You get to experience the culture and buy souvenirs - remember to haggle for a better price. Haggling is the way to do business, usually getting things for half the asking price. However, despite both the incredible tours, the best part of both was our incredible tour guide, Muath Al Amri. What an absolute pleasure it was to spend a couple days with this young man. He was engaging, a wealth of knowledge, an excellent driver between our destinations, and an all-around charming person. The tours were great, but Muath put them over the top. We can’t thank him enough for being such an incredible Ambassador for Oman and showing us the true spirit and friendliness of the Omani people.Written April 16, 2019
- Kana T0 contributionsSalalah TourMy mother and I really enjoyed the two days tour in Salalah. Even though we had asked you to pick up so early in the morning, you came to the airport to pick us up and also offered us a napping time for a while and served tea on a beach side. We really appreciated that. And in addition, while it was a quite busy day on our second day because of the sickness of your staff, you could make us just enjoy the whole tour. Thank you very much and see you next time when we will go to Oman again!Written March 9, 2019
- Wander191300 contributionsMuscat city tour, Jebel Shams and the Wadi Shab toursDear Sarah, We had the pleasure of getting your service on three occasions and we fully appreciated all of them. Your guides, Noah – doing the Muscat city tour and Suleiman – doing the Jebel Shams and the Wadi Shab tours were both very competent and gave us as good picture of the areas we visited. Both gave us extra time, well above the indicated on the route description. Thank you for your good service and rest assured that we will recommend friends travelling to Oman, needing a guide service. Best regards Leif ThornwallWritten February 15, 2019

Was even better than I expected! Was picked up on time by my tour guide who was very lovely and answered any questions I had through the day. Spent time walking around the Souq in Nizwa before heading to the canyons which were unreal! Highly recommend the tour, the guide was a very experienced driver and I felt very safe on the trip. He was so polite and made sure I was well looked after throughout the day by supplying plenty of water. Very awesome experience!

This private tour was a highlight of our 4 day trip to Oman. Our tour guide Juma picked us up from the hotel on time. His English was great and was a fantastic tour guide. He went out of his way to ensure our experience was first class. Water was provided throughout the day. We stopped at a local coffee shop and had coffee with the locals and introduced to Omani sweets.
Juma also game through the Nizwa souk and fort with us to show us around.
He chose a restaurant for lunch which was typical Omani style. And suggested the camel meat. This was all included. Very good.
The drive up Jabal shams was great and he parked at a great location and made us Omani coffee and served traditional omani sweets. This was a highlight of the trip. Drinking our coffee with a great view.
Highly recommend this tour and the tour company. It may be a little more expensive than other tours but the personal touches has left us with great memories and a friendship.

Our guide did not speak English well, so we would have been better off just hiring a taxi to take us to these places.

Our guide was abdullah. He is very humorous and proactive. He gave a detailed and interesting guide of the nizwa fort, and showed us many viewpoints atop jebel shams. He then brought us to extra places to experience more of nizwa, and drove us to our dinner place at the end of our tour. He cheerfully extended our tour from 4pm to 6plus pm.

Grand Canyon in Al Hajar Mountains is one of the best places in Oman. The place is well know for its natural beauty and its a good Sunrise point [better on 4 am]. I recommend to drive to Jebel Shams in a 4x4 vehicle to get an incredible driving experience. Anyway there are separate routes for 2WD vechiles. Just need to ask some local people to confirm best route before going.

Hi, we arrive 17th march with the cruise AIDA PRIMA at appr. 0800. We leave at 1800, so we probably need to be back earlier. Is this feasible? AND: how about lunch? We would like to see thew landscape around Muscat because we are told that it is beautifull.
