It was a lovely day out even with our little daughter. He was also very patient whilst she threw a tantrum (!) Highly recommend the tour and Khalil as your tour guide. - terriclaye0 contributionsIMO Don't cruise with Royal Caribbean!! And here's why...What ever you do...DONT book a cruise with Royal Caribbean International...they will RIP YOU OFF!! We book an average of 3 - 6 cruises a year, usually with NCL...I made a reservation for a year from now and they will not refund my deposit!! Over $1400.00!! Their website is a disaster with links that do not work and hard to navigate...when I called them to speak to someone at 7:28 EST this morning...I got a recording saying that their office is closed...call back during their working hours from 7am to 2am EST...which is posted on their website WITH the phone number to call...I had to call back and pretend that I was making a NEW reservation to actually speak to a person! They did allow me to cancel the drink package that I purchased...BUT, the "cancellation" receipt that I received from them shows the refund amount as $0!! WTH?!! I can't believe that their business practices are not CRIMINAL!! I think one of our Government Agencies need to investigate their business practices! I could understand if I was cancelling a reservation a month prior to sail date...BUT a whole YEAR FROM NOW?!! INEXCUSABLE!!! They have just cemented our terrible experience with them and we will NEVER take another Royal Caribbean International cruise again!! If anyone asks me who to use to have a wonderful cruise experience, it will definitely NOT BE Royal Caribbean International!!!Written May 23, 2024

- Caroline H0 contributionsLatifa tourWow ! Our guide Aziz was the epitome of Omani hospitality . He treated us with such care and kindness and went above and beyond expectation . Despite floods in Oman and adapting the tour to suit conditions he was patient and safe and showed us so much of this beautiful country , culture and landscape with experiences that made this tour unique . Everyday was full and interesting and we trusted the choices Aziz made and he was also very flexible with our requests and adapted the itinerary . We saw a side of Oman that we weren’t expecting - wet weather - but this made the whole experience more powerful , especially the dessert, the crossings of Wadis and stopping to assist a Bedouin family pull their car from being bogged in the river showed us a side of the community that all helps each other and ready to stop and help when needed . We felt like guests and travellers and not at all like tourists . Aziz hosted us at his home for lunch on the last day and this was an absolute delight and surprise . I cannot praise our tour and guide enough and would recommend to any visitor to Iman if they want to see the REAL OMAN Well done Aziz , we couldn’t have experienced this without you ❤️Written April 19, 2024

- SUNILDASWANEY0 contributionsTERRIBLE EXPERIENCEKhasab is an extremely ordinary place with nothing attractive at all to see and enjoy. I would not suggest this place at all for sightseeing.Written March 23, 2024
- Andrei-Ionut0 contributionsFabulous day in the desert with a stop at the WadiThe day started smoothly, my guide, Khaled being on time and ready to guide me through the sands of Oman. He knows everything from geography, history, and local traditions, and this made the trip even more interesting. We passed a small souq where he explained the use of every item and their use in local traditions. We then went to a Bedouin house to chill and enjoy some Omani coffee. There is the option there to go Dune bashing, but I opted out. One can also go for a camel ride there. I opted to go in the Dunes for a photo session and just admire the Nature. Afterwards, we went to Wadi Bani Khaled to cool off. I never felt rushed, and could really take the time to swim and admire the lush vegetation of the Wadi. All in all it was all that I expected from such a tour.Written March 19, 2024
- PaulMartinMX970 contributionsOne of the best experiences!Khalid was the best guide one could ask for!! Extremely attentive, great conversation, and always sharing interesting facts about the place. He was always willing to take cool pictures and videos of me, which meant that, as a solo traveler, I didn’t have any problem enjoying Oman to the fullest. Amazing experience all around!Written March 10, 2024
- 27webs0 contributionsExceptional trip with KhaledThe tour was great and my guide, Khaled, was exceptional! Besides the scheduled stops at Nizwa souq and fort, Al Hamra & Misfat, he also made sure I saw the village Bait al Safah which was impressive. We had a great lunch during the trip and throughout the drive we talked about Oman, the people, culture, politics, football...Khaled knew it all. This is a tour you shouldn't miss if you are in the Muscat area! 6 stars out of 5!Written March 8, 2024
- U5535FVpatrickh0 contributionsBeautifull friendly OmanAt the first morning Azziz from Oman Day Tours was waiting with a big smile in the lobby. He informed what our Points of Interests were, so he adapted part of the trip to our wishes. Oman delivered excellent Hotel rooms. A trip never to forget and giving us the envy of discovering the rest of Oman and we will surely contact Azziz again. Job well done AzzizWritten March 4, 2024

- N3455BPvanessam0 contributionsBest Omani experienceThis experience was amazing!! We were able to discover another part of Oman, with all its interesting history and facts. All of that was possible thanks to Muneer, who was our incredible guide!! He was kind, helpful and patient answering the 181839 questions we had about the country, culture, food, politics, economy, food and everything basically! He made the experience an unforgettable one and allowed us to really get to know the country. We would do it again without any doubt, so we highly recommend it!Written February 7, 2024

We arrived in Oman and decided to book this day trip in order to see more of the beautiful landscape in this country. We did only book the afternoon before the scheduled morning of departure, but we were assured quite soon by SMS that our booking was confirmed for the next day with an early 8am departure from our hotel.
After a no show at 8, and a phone call to the organizer to follow up, at 9.15am our driver-guide turns up. He is professional and very friendly throughout the day's experience and the hours on the road were fine as we were fully expecting to spend the majority of our time in the car.
In our case, the driver was very helpful but not a guide in any sense.
The tour description as advertised is wrong. Here's what we saw instead of the description:
- Nizwa fort and Souq
- Fanja Souq
- Ghul ruins
- good viewpoint of Ghul
What we did not see was Jebel Shams.
Once we started the tour, our driver mentioned that there were two peaks- the first one is Jebel Shams and the second one is Jebel Al Akhdar. He mentioned that if we wanted to do Jebel Shams it would be a "4-hour hike" to reach the summit and that Al Akhdar has more things to see and do for tourists. While we appreciated his advice and flexibility, we found the advert very misleading as it didn't mention a hike, and as such we were unprepared and short of time due to the 75-minute late start.
Sadly, due to an unforeseen accident (which closed the only mountain road) we could not even go up to Jebel Al Akhdar, but our driver instead took us round to Old Muscat and Mutrah for a quick tour instead. This was greatly appreciated.
Due to the late departure and change of plan, we missed the chance to buy ourselves lunch at a restaurant. However our driver was thoughtful and bought us some snacks to keep us going throughout the day.
We recommend Oman Day Tours to update their advertisement with correct itinerary, and either not accept bookings the day before so they can organise drivers, or improve communication around delays.

I spent 9 days in Oman and had a better time than expected. I stayed in Muscat for 5 days and Salalah for 4 days. In Salalah I saw the Empty Quarter, Rub al Khali desert, and sites around Salalah. I had the same guide in Salalah who was very friendly and courteous. Oman was a very clean country and a lot of people I talked to were also very friendly. In Muscat I did the city tour, the Grand Canyon, and Wadi Al Shab and sinkhole. I had the same guide for the Grand Canyon and Muscat City tour which made it nice too. The weather was really nice during March and there are many different types of terrain in Oman which I thought made it beautiful. Oman can be pricey but also reasonable. I got to eat camel which was tasty also.
My only cons are for Oman, it is better to go with at least 3 people to help offset the cost of the tours and for the Wadi Al Shab, bring water shoes to help walk around in too.

The time in Oman was unforgettable and it was a great opportunity to feel the beauty of nature and the kindness of Oman people.
Especially, small old towns and several photo spots were fascinating!!!
After the main tour, Mr Najar (I'm sorry how to spell your name) kindly told us the way to the port which we were planning to go later.
I would be pleased to recommend to my friends or colleagues to travel Oman and with this program.
-------------------------
- Pick up and drop at our hotel.
- Chilled mineral water
- Stop at small old town the way to Jabel Shams
- Great lunch at local restaurant (We recommend Humus!)
- Comfortable, gentle driving
- Great weather :)

We had a great time on our trip! Rashid was very knowledgeable, helped us modify the trip slightly to get one of us back to the airport on-time, and was great to spend the day with. Will definitely use Oman Day Tours when we come back to Oman to do some hiking and Wadi bashing!

We had the tour to Jabel Shams and we really enjoyed it. Communication prior to the tour is perfect. Fast and responsive reply and quick confirmation and reminder. The driver came on time and was very friendly and chatty. We had good conversations along the way and learnt a lot about Oman and had some photos taken together.

Jebel Shams Grand Canyon is located at an altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level. The view from above is truly amazing. The steep valley between steep hills presents a natural landscape that amazes the eye, producing exotic natural views and amidst the silence of nature there is a mystical impression that is felt. For hiking lovers, Jebel Shams also has quite a complicated track in the form of a path between steep, challenging cliffs that will trigger adrenaline for those who enjoy it.
