    What to Expect
After hotel pickup in Medellin, sink into the soft seats of your air-conditioned minivan and relax during the scenic journey to the traditional town of Guatapé. Arrive at the picturesque pueblo and stroll the quaint cobbled street alongside your knowledgeable guide, browsing local stalls for artisan treasures as you wander. Admire colorful colonial buildings then prepare for the exhilarating ascension of the remarkable El Penon rock.
Appreciate the monolithic magnificence of the rock before beginning your strenuous journey up more than 700 steps; reach the summit, which stands at 7,000 feet (2,100 meters) above sea level and reward your hard work with the exquisite views. Gaze at the vibrant and verdant islands that decorate the deep blue lake, capturing the unearthly landscape on camera.
Return to land and refuel with a delicious Colombian lunch (included) before boarding our minivan and enjoying a relaxing journey back to Medellin.
