Overview

Get acquainted with the seaside splendor of Poole during a 75-minute cruise of Europe’s largest natural harbor from Poole. Climb aboard a traditional fishing boat and enjoy spectacular views of the famous Sandbanks, the Blue Lagoon and Corfe Castle. Listen to illuminating commentary from your expert guide as you sail from the picturesque town of Poole to Brownsea Island. Hear of how Poole Harbour was formed in the last ice-age and absorb the tranquility of the ocean before returning to Poole Quay.

What to Expect

After selecting a departure time to suit your schedule, climb aboard your awaiting boat at Poole’s quaint quayside and set sail on the calm waters of Europe’s largest natural harbor. Receive an interesting introduction to the history and geology of the region from your knowledgeable captain as you sail towards Brownstone Island, home to the impressive Corfe Castle.

Capture panoramic views of the opulent houses of Sandbanks and the picturesque islands of Poole Harbour as you sail. Gaze at the glittering surface of the Blue Lagoon from a comfortable seat on the top deck, or relax with a cup of fragrant tea in the heated saloon area.

When your 75-minute cruise comes to a conclusion, return to Poole Quays and continue exploring the town independently.

Really invigorating!

My family had a windy but such fun cruise around the harbour and Brownsea island. Tristram gave an incredibly detailed and interesting commentary and I'd definitely recommend this to everyone.

Harbour cruise

Very entertaining and informative cruise with a great commentary and good range of snacks and drinks available on board the boat. I pre booked on the website and got a discounted price so it made it even better value.

Nice trip round Poole harbour

Went with the family round Poole Harbour. Wanted to go to Brownsea Island, but as the family are not National Trust members it became too expensive

Yes, there are toilets either end of the boat. There were no queues for the toilets. The toilets were very clean.

Yes. I was very impressed with city cruises as they boarded people and ensured that any disabled people were comfortable. There were lots of disabled people on my city cruise.
