Our tour guide "Toa" is extremely helpful and making my hike experience amazing.
I have ever met any tour guide such helpful , professional and thoughtful like him.
I joined this tour for Kjerag hike twice. The first time we met suddenly and rapidly weather change , Toa has made an appropriate decision not going further because the wind was strong enough to move my body and the rains made the rocks very slippery.
After a week, I requested again because I do want to make it before leaving Norway. I realize that this hike is the riskiest one so I decided to book this company again because I have confidence on their tour guide as per my previous experience.

Luckily I had Toa as my guide again. He was very patient to encourage me to hike , gave me a push when I felt energy less , and sometimes allow me to step on his legs when my feet is not long enough to a safe point...
Besides, I do recommend to have a guide because not all people are dare to step on the Kjeragbolten (Kjerag stone), especially for those with short legs like me..

Our tour guide, Toa has helped us to step on the rock so we can take nice photos with safer feeling. I am sure that I could not have committed the hike and had nice photo without Toa (our tour guide). Attached image shows how he helps us to step on the rock

Regarding our hike to Kjerag, this was a very positive experience. The hike is long and intense but the reward is well worth the effort, and we had a very competent and kind guide which was a big positive.
HOWEVER, the tour company leaves much to be desired. We also booked a Pulpit Rock guided tour with the for the following day, and then we had a flight change which meant we would not be able to make the hike. I emailed the company the night before to explain. Giving less than 24 hours notice I understood that I would be losing the money I paid for the hike, as well as the extra money I paid to get dropped off at the airport after the tour was over. BUT, as it turns it, I also had left a book I was reading in the van from the Kjerag tour the day before, and I asked the company to please drop it off to me in the morning before we left for the airport. After all, they had already been planning on driving to our hotel to pick us for the tour, and since we had already paid for everything, why couldn't they just drive to our hotel in the morning to drop off my book? I asked them THREE times to do this via emails and phone messages and I was ignored on all 3 occasions. I think it is a sign of crummy customer service and bad will that they would not drop me my book and would not even give me the courtesy of a response. It was a book that had been given to me as a gift and I was greatly enjoying reading it and had hoped to finish it on my long flight back to the US. Needless to say, I am disappointed with the tour company and their lack of consideration.

My favorite was getting on top of the rock! I truly enjoyed the hike. Our tour guide was excellent and had to deal with unqualified people who got on the hike with very little experience, ended up dropping off the hike early on. Then we had couple (lady) say this was her 2nd hike! Her 1st was day before to priest’s pulpit. They ended up turning around due to they couldn’t keep up and we had to keep going due to pending rain or turned around early. Drive there 2 1/2 hrs was beautiful. Couldn’t take any pictures due to tinted windows.

We cruised on the P&O Iona in June 2022. We were scheduled to stop in Stavenger but because of weather delays, the stop was cancelled. We were told this by the captain 23 hours before we were to stop. I called and emailed FH lysefjorden immediately. They responded with, that because I did not give them 24 hour notice, there would not be a refund of our $664.48. I did not have 24 hours to give them. The hike scheduled was the highlight of the cruise for my granddaughter. Big disappointment for all of us because of the missed stop and the cancellation policy!!

Taking the tour was by far the most challenging experience for me. It is a beautiful place and if I had the opportunity I would do it again, but maybe with another guide.

Although she is a very nice young woman, Rebekka, my guide picked me up almost an hour later, she mentioned that that day she was doing the walk that had taken her the longest and it was another teammate who supported me on the descent and not her. There were also two times that I fell on the way up and no one from my group was around, another tourist was the one who helped me.

It seems to me that he is very young and must learn that not all of us have the opportunity to go hiking constantly, much less to go to Norway, and that is why we do not want to miss out on the opportunity to do a lake as wonderful as hiking like this.

In all groups (as in mine) there will always be people who are used to doing this type of tour and there will be those of us who find it more difficult, but it is in bad taste that your guide complains to you about it or that instead of caring of those of us who have less experience, try to be all the time with the experienced people, whose trail was lost on several occasions on the horizon.

Kjerag hike is rated as difficult and it definitely needs a lot of endurance. Being a non regular hiker, Hege did an excellent job to guide through the tricky path so as to we could all make our climb successful and come down in one piece. She is professional and kind. She waited for everyone and made sure we were all alright. Myself, being weak in climb downs, Hege made sure to stay behind and guide me down the steep slopes. She also topped the cherry on the cake by taking excellent behind the scenes pictures of all of us which can always be cherished as an awesome memory. Kjerag was the highlight of my Norway trip and I would do it again and definitely again with Lysefjorden Adventures :)

I had a great experience. The hike wasn't easy, but the company and the view on the top was so worth it. In a group, everyone has a different pace but our guide did a good job in both keeping a steady pace and waiting for us to rest and catch up. The pictures she took were amazing!
I highly recommend this to anyone hiking to Kjeragbolten for the first time, and especially to solo travelers.

Our guide (Geir) made this hike a phenomenal experience. He is very attentive, funny and just a cool dude. I was a solo traveler, so he made sure I felt welcomed and incorporated me into the group. He knows his way around the mountains, and he was always checking on us to make sure we didn't take a wrong step. I also recommend buying the photo package so that you don't have to stop all the time on steep slopes to take pictures. The guide will take some great pictures so you can just focus on enjoying the hike and views.

I was considering doing the hike alone but at the end of this hike I was glad I didn't - this hike is HARD. Our guide was really knowledgeable and made sure that nobody in the group would be left behind. As we did it during a heatwave he ensured we had enough breaks throughout the hike. Also the best part - as the hike is done with a small group there's no rush to catch the bus back, so you actually have time to enjoy it.

Hike was good, guide friendly, but to be honest, not needed. On google it says the hike is not possible without a guide in May, but most of other people came on their own and easily did the hike anyway as we saw. Plus the guide did not tell much about the place. So if I were to do it again, I would just rent a car or take a bus to Kjerag if possible. Otherwise the drive is very scenic and well worth it.
