      Charming Ålesund
Ålesund is a charming town. Very easy to stroll from the cruise ship terminal with picturesque colorful buildings and a lovely petite harbor wharf. Many picture-worthy settings and patio cafes. We preferred just wandering and enjoying the scenic benches. Drinks and pizzas at Anno were very good.

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours in Haugesund.
We done the short trip. Up to the sheep farm, held the lambs, one of which suckled on my finger. Farmer gave us a very informative talk and his wife gave us coffee/tea and apple pie. Back down to see the beautiful horse artwork in the sea, then up to the statue and probable resting place of the great Norwegian king. All in all a great little tour. Great driving and a very informative guide. Would recommend for any age group as long as you can do a little 15 minute walk on a sometimes rocky path.

Wonderful and fun winter adventures in Longyearbyen, Norway
This was my second visit here, but first time in the winter season. I wanted to experience the 24-hour darkness period, hopefully see the Aurora Borealis, visit the only brewery in the Arctic and go dog sledding. I had two 1/2 days to accomplish these goals. Upon stepping outside the terminal I was greeted by a blast of wind (-17.5 Celsius/ -27.5 Celsius wind chill). Good thing I wore the right cold weather gear! It was 1400 and pitched black out. I quickly found the shuttle bus that would take me to the Svalbard Hotell-Polfareren. I stayed here before and knew I would be treated warmly and friendly. The Svalbard Hotell-Polfareren provides a delicious breakfast to help start your day. The hotel is next door to the Tourist Center where I was able to book my Arctic dog sledding with Basecamp Explorer and a tour of the Svalbard Bryggeri (Brewery) and sample some of their beers. I would have to depend on Mother Nature on whether or not I'd see the Aurora Borealis. Basecamp Explorer picked up me and six others from our hotel the morning of dog sledding adventure and drove us first to their office. There we were fitted with snowmobile suits, hat, mittens and boots, a baclava, a half facemask, a headlamp and goggles. They ensured we would be warm. After going over the initial safety briefing we all got back into the van and were driven to the dog camp. We got to meet the sled dogs (around 70 of them); shown how to harness them (which we did); how to drive the sled and use the two brake systems. There were a total of five sleds going out on this ride and each of us would get the chance to "drive" the sled and dog team. We started sliding out the camp gate down the hill into the valley we'd be sledding around. It was a blast - riding as a passenger and more so driving. It was dark, but you could see the outline of the mountains letting us know the sun was out there way south of where we were. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed carrying us across the snow packed valley and we had to lightly apply the "light" brake to slow them down so the sled wouldn't surge past them! At the end of the 10 Kilometer ride we arrived back to the camp; unharnessed the dogs and returned them to their respected dog houses. Then we got a special treat of meeting around two dozen dog sled puppies in their pen. It was utter bedlam as the puppies jumped all over us trying to greet us, chew on anything dangling, and have total fun. Afterwards, we were driven back to the office to return all the gear, put our own gear back on and returned to the hotel. This is definitely another adventure I'd do again. For beer lovers and those who want to learn about some neat recent Longyearbyen history visiting the Svalbard Bryggeri is worthwhile. You learn how this brewery came into being (basically getting Norway to change the law against brewing beer here), the amazing life story of its founder, Robert Johansen, and tasting their favorable beers. It's a good evening tour. There are numerous shops, places to eat (i.e. Cafe Huskies; try chocolate candies from Fruene - made in Longyearbyen), and a grocery store to resupply if needed. The history of Longyearbyen is amazing and all around for you to explore on your own. I definitely want to come back here again to experience this winter wonderland.

Authentic tour with a knowledge and informative tour guide. Good value for the experience you get.
Mila was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. She provided time to explore things and took us to a variety of destinations around Ålesund. Mila also provided a Norwegian Snack for us to share. Mila was kind and helpful. I would highly recommend her as a tour guide.

      Gorgeous!
Geiranger (and the surrounding areas) is beautiful, and the tour with Myla was excellent. Myla was able to drive on roads that didn’t include tour buses and, stop in places for pictures without large crowds. The love she has for the area is clear, and made the tour that much more enjoyable. Lunch was at a small family run restaurant, where we tried local specialties. Definitely a place we would have never found on our own. The tour ended in a spot that allowed us to walk down several steps alongside a waterfall. There are many landings, so you are able to stop for pictures, and not interfere with others walking up and down the steps. If we didn’t want to walk down, she could have driven us to the bottom. This is definitely a must-do tour.

      Great Tour in Molde
We had a wonderful day in Molde with Myla. The area is beautiful, and being able to have a more intimate conversation with a local is much more enjoyable than a tour bus with 40+ people. This was the second day we toured with her. The first was in Geiranger (separate review). Along with riding around beautiful fjords, We rode the Atlantic road, with some photo stops. We also had a stop for about 20 minutes at a beautiful lookout point near the Drunken Bride. In lieu of the main road to Bud, she drove on a side road that had pretty homes with waterfront views. We stopped to see a local fisherman who smokes his own salmon and trout (which we were able to taste). She also had us try Gjetost, which is a local snack. It was a very pretty, enjoyable, and informative tour that is an excellent way to see the area.

      Farm life in old times
Many warm greetings to our guide Mila and my reccomendation to order Uniktour services if you will have chance to come to Alesund. This tour is the showcase of farm life in Norway centuries ago. Small wooden buildings with grass roofs, wild natural areas around. I get feeling of life here that was common all over Scandinavia.

Tour started half hour late due to guide at wrong pier
We arranged this 7/28/22 tour for our group of eight and received an email confirmation from Radmyla Jacobson on 4/4/22 that said confirmed the starting time and said our guide would meet us at the pier, near the exit from the ship. Unfortunately, our guide and bus were not at the pier when we arrived. After making several phone calls to Radmyla, it was determined that our guide was at another pier. It turns out that there are two piers in Alesund. Who knew? (To make matters worse, our ship was a half hour early, so we waited one hour in total.) When I contacted Radmyla later (via email) to request some compensation for the unplanned half hour, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, she responded by suggesting that she punish the guide who apparently cried when she told her and offered to return her tip. A simple apology would have sufficed.

      Incredible Day in Alesund!
We had a great time with Rudmila. She picked us up from the port and took us around Alesund, showing us the most beautiful, picturesque areas. She was very friendly, informative, and a great driver. We learned about Alesund's history and culture. She even treated us to their local cheese and crackers specialties. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting this unique town of Alesund.

First class experience from start to finish with lovely local touches thrown in. We beat all the crowds and were taken to all the scenic viewing areas. Our guide surprised us with some local delicacies that were enjoyed at one of the amazing views. Highly recommended

Tour time was changed by several hours one day prior to the tour date (which we could do, fortunately). However, the Amazing city walk was not so amazing when the tour guide was a no show (at the new time). We emailed the tour operator to let them know we were hanging about waiting. About 15 minutes later a response popped up saying the guide was running one hour late. (Busy season, etc etc).
So we killed the tour and did a self guided tour, which worked out fine.
The only redeeming quality is that we were immediately refunded our money once we canceled and the operator was appropriately apologetic.
Nonetheless, no points for the lousy communication and inability to execute.

we have to admit that this platform is very convenient for booking tours, however, the communication is very slow, so we should not turn off our phones abroad, only through them fast communication is possible. We can't rely on internet connection alone, especially in places with poor Wi-Fi. The guide tried to call you several times, but your phone was turned off, and only I, as a tour operator, could send you messages (not directly) that arrived very late. I explained the delay to you by force majeure, but of course I understand that this could not improve your mood. Once again, I apologize for the spoiled experience of our beautiful city.

We enjoyed learning about the Art Nouveau buildings in Alesund's downtown area. Myla pointed out many of the buildings' special style elements and how they differ from traditional structures. She also told us about the history of the area.

My criticism of this tour is that it is identified as wheelchair accessible but it isn't. The tour involved stairs. There were also some steep hills that were challenging for those with walking difficulties. In addition, the tour ended in a park but for those of us unfamiliar with the area, we did not know how to get back to the cruise port.

This tour can be easily adapted for disabled people and we have indeed done many tours with people in wheelchairs and moms with strollers. There were no disabled people on the day of your tour, but seeing your husband's mobility problems, I constantly paid attention to you, did not start the story, waiting for your arrival. Remember, before climbing the stairs, I also asked you again about whether you and your husband could climb the stairs, or if the whole group should go around one block. You replied that you would take the risk, but then you got lost along the way, we were waiting for you, but you never joined us. I am very sorry that we did not find you, you were my good companion on the tour.

Food Walk in Aalesund was a great experience, Nora who was our guide was incredibly nice, told us funny stories about Aalesund, the restaurants/food-places and could also tell us interesting things about the food.
The food really surprised us, just the right portions and deliciously good.
We strongly recommend Food Walk Aalesund, a fun and social way to see and experience something new. Great city, great guide, great food:-)

Stacey was fantastic. The walking was a good place and we got to see a lot of the city and hear some of the history and stories. A cute little walking tour and I definitely recommend it. There are a couple of hills that are pretty steep and then one set of stairs that we did (though that was an optional thing she asked if we wanted to do).

Interesting introduction to city, past and present. Comments were mostly focused on architecture, industry, and history. Our guide kept the group engaged by asking questions and rewarding correct answers with Twixt, a local candy. (So tasty, we stopped by a grocery store on our own to buy a bag to bring back to the ship). Later that day, I was able to take some family members on a mini tour based on what I learned. The price was so much better than booking the same tour via our cruise ship. Later in the afternoon I took the blue and white trolley tour just to spend more time with family. All though the trolley brought you up to the.city overlook, the information provided in the canned audio tour paled in comparison to the information provided on the walking tour.

Our guide truly educated us about Alesund architecture, history, food, and customs. Including how to pronounce Alesund. We’ll worth it. The meeting point was a bit hidden for newcomers to Alesund and is on the cruise terminal side of the Rad Hus.

Loved this walking tour of the city. Myla the guide was phenomenal and you can tell she loves her city and the history with it. We had some questions around timings due to trying to work this around a different tour and the communication I received back was quick. She ended up giving the tour to just myself and my wife which was a real treat. I would definitely recommend Uniktur and Myla to anyone looking for a tour around Alesund.

Perfectly timed tour, she met us off the cruise ship, super easy to find her right outside the terminal gate. We had a small group of 7 led by a fabulous guide, Stacy, a history major in college. We walked about 2+ miles around. A few hills but at a slower pace for some of the older walkers. Very informative and interesting little facts about Ålesund. Definitely a great use of two hours with plenty of time to go back to shops we passed!!
