- 474helgec0 contributionsMedieval city and Local food tastingTour was excellent. Our friends have visited Bergen and recommended us food tasting Tour suggested by Vinoltours. Tour program is logical. Firstly walking Tour in Old quarters of the city. The second part return Funicular trip, at the end food tasting program. The main part of food tasting was suggested at the Fish Market. Creamed Norwegian fish soup, pieces of 5 types of local goat cheese, pieces of smoked salmon and salami from game meat and delicious dessert with apple pie. Excellent program and knowledgedebl guide!Written December 5, 2023

- 438ellag0 contributionsOld BergenWalking tour is the best choice to get information about the city. This is not easy to pay attention to the details sitting in the bus. Medieval Spirit of Bergen is a good choice whwn when you are interested in history. Our guide gave us also advice where to eat and special this is possible to buy in numerous shops at Bryggen.Written September 10, 2023
- B2512CXfrankp0 contributionsThree peak walking tourWe enjoyed the informative conversation with the guide and details of the history of the city. Hike was challenging enough for the casual walker to get a sense of accomplishment. Views were spectacular..Written July 10, 2023
- jameswC1318IJ0 contributionsThree summits and old BergenIt was not very easy to choose a tour in Bergen. Our family likes both sports and history. local company Vinol Tours gives option when you can have both good exercise and receive information about medieval life in Bergen. Hanseatic hotel where we stayed is a good start place of this tour. After walking tour in Bergenhus fortress and along the streets of Bryggen that became the center of trade in old time we continued with the Funicular to the summit of the city mountain Floien. After a short break at the summit we continued further on to the Blamanen and Rundemanen mountains summits. Trail is very good and views unforgettable!Written July 3, 2023
- holb15170 contributionsThe land of waterfalls and lakesWe arrived to Bergen a couple of days before the day of our Viking cruise on 20th of May. Bergen is named as the capital of fjords. This is truth. We set on a half day trip to the region of Hardangerfjord. This fjord is often called as the Queen of fjords. Amazing landscapes around. Tour was combination of the city sightseeing tour, funicular trip and return tour to the mountain region that is close to bergen. This region is the country of waterfalls and lakes. We managed to visit to waterfalls. One is shaped as bride`s veil, thus get this nickname as Bride`s Veil. Nice day.Written January 21, 2023
- holb15170 contributionsHistory plus food tastingWe have booked a private tour. We have chosen Vinol Tours agency. My wife prefer tours with food tasting in every new country when we are traveling . One of tours that includes local food tasting was on the list of Vinol Tours. 3 hour tour offers walking tour in the medieval parts of Bergen, return Funicular trip to the top of the city mountain and local food tasting in restaurant. Amazing views of the sea and islands along the shore line stored now in our camera. Food tasting in reality was 3 course lunch (more than we expected): fish soup, different types of smoked salmon, cured meat, and delicious dessert! Full picture of local history plus nice examples of Norwegian kitchen!Written January 21, 2023
- aleksl22220 contributionsThe center of medieval historyThis walking tour we ordered from Vinol Tours. One day before we had a great hike with Olav - mountain guide from the same company. Conversations with Olav during 5 hours of our hike were so interesting that we decided to order him again for historical tour next day. And the highest scores for Olav and Vinol Tours again! Bergen became the the center of medieval trade in Scandinavia many centuries ago. We have visited Bryggen - trading office that belonged to Trading Hanseatic League from the XIV-th century up to the middle of XIX th century. This is UNESCO site. Bergenhus Fortress we have visited also. Very impressive strong point that existing in the city from XII century. We ended tour at the fish market where we have enjoyed a good lunch after the tour.Written January 10, 2023
- aleksl22220 contributionsGreat hike on 3 summits! It was a sunny day after 2 previous rainy days in Bergen. We decided to order a hike from Vinoltours travel agency. Private tour. The symbol of Bergen there are 7 mountains located around the city. The agency has the tour during what you can reach 3 summits from seven. Our mountain guide was very knowledgeable. We have started with the Funicular trip. Floibanen - funicular lower station one can find in the city center. In 5 minutes we reached the observation point at the top of the mountain Floyen. Floyen-Blamanen-Rundemanen-Blamanen-Floyen - it was our 4.5 hours hiking tour. Unforgettable views of the mountains and opened sea! We started at the level of 380m above sea level and reached maximum elevation of 570 m above sea level. At the end of the tour we have visited local bakery at the top of Floyen mountain. It was Good training exercise and tasty freshly backed production at the end! Highly recommended tour!Written January 7, 2023
- Pearlr5030 contributionsReal tour experience on a distance of 1000 miles from the spot!I have visited Norway just before the start of pandemic Covid-19 spreading. Unfortunaly, I didn' t have during my stay in Norway any walking tours in one of the most popular Norwegian historical cities - Bergen. Suddenly I discovered that one of Bergen tourist agencies suggests virtual online walking tours. It was so nice. International tourism is almost died now. Live online tour was a discovery for me. I was sitting with my smartphone at home enjoying stories of my local guide Ole, who was doing the real tour for me in the center of old Bergen passing with his camera medieval quarters. Tour was shorter than standard real tours. For me 1 hour was enough both for getting historical information and for the shopping at the end of the tour. My trophy became 3 magnets, a cup and 10 cans of blue berry in capsules that help to encrease immune system. Ole sent me them with DHL. My recommendations!Written October 2, 2020
- tomas994770 contributionsThe city view from the topWe ordered this tour, because of the maximum information that you can get from walking tour in Bergen. Just walking tour without Floibanen trip in Bergen, this is not enough to become familiar with this historical city of Bergen. Old quarters of Bergen gave us enough information to understand why Norwegian kings decided to move their capital from Trondheim at the North to Bergen Fjord area. Great location. Big bonus if this is sunny day and you can enjoy panoramic views of medieval city from the top of Floien that is the most popular mountain in Bergen with the lookout place at the summit. That was good that our guide brought prebooked funicular tickets, We escaped long waiting time with people buying funicular tickets. My recommendation is always to add funicular return trip to your walking or sightseeing tour in Bergen.Written December 28, 2019
- WellTreadShoes0 contributionsVery helpful agency and an excellent tour!mA very good tour agency. They helped me with a booking error and ensured that a tour guide was available for my corrected booking in a rather short time. Kudos to Ule and team. My guide for this tour was Alex. He has been in the country for a while and was knowledgeable about the Norwegian way of life. The tour started off from the Tourist Info centre at the Fish Market. We went up the furnicular (extra NOK95) and took in the city view from the top. Thereafter, we went to Bryggen, the church behind it and then to the city centre. There was a Christmas market at the centre and we took in the sights. Alex was very open and answered any questions I had about Bergen, Norway and Scandinavia. He even helped me take my tram tickets and offered to send me links to the Norwegian tales about trolls. This tour was well worth the time and money.Written December 23, 2019
- roger92920 contributionsLunch from fried forest eatable mushrooms beside Gold Fish lakeAfter our walking tour in Bergen we agreed with our guide to hire him for the tour to Hardanger Fjord. The Fjord and waterfalls along mountain road attracted us and we took on this decision. In addition I had sharp desire to pick up eatable mushrooms as many tourists did with this agency. I have never had chance to try myself in this hobby - picking up of eatable forest mushrooms. After the stop at two amazing waterfalls we arrived to the Gold Fish Lake high up in the mountains. You can see fish of different color coming to the lake shores. It was so interesting process. Mushrooms are hidden in the grass or bushes of juniper. Experienced people can find them also not quickly. You have to know places where they are growing up. It was very delicious lunch! On the way back to Bergen we have visited also fruit farm that was not included in the program. We decided to repeat this tour next year again.Written December 20, 2019
- roger92920 contributionsBergen in old timesThis tour was very informative. We have visited all main attractions in the city center. The most interesting place for me and my wife is Bergenhus Fortress. In 11th century when Bergen became the capital of Norway local kings decided to build their main residence on the shore of Bergen Fjord. More then 200 years The Fortress with Haakon Hall was the main place for the kings. Thanks for people that booked the same tour previously. From their reviews we got information that this tourist agency is distributor of different goods made by local craftsmen. We also bought souvenirs that vinoltours suggesting to its customers.Written December 19, 2019

We again in Norway we again in Bergen. I think nobody will get tired visiting this country again and again. We didn't have an opportunity to visit Flam one year ago. We did it now. Private tour on minivan with well known guide it was what we have chosen. Twinde waterfall with double stream in its upper part is impressive. I filled my bottle with clean mountain water that is very good. My recommendation to stop at the Stalheim hotel. Lookout point at the hotel with spectacular views. From Flam we continued to Stegastein viewpoint. Breath taking panorama of Aurland Fjord from the top. We also took ferry from Flam to Gudvangen. This territory is inscribed on UNESCO heritage list. Very interesting tour.
