This is the second time we have visited Bergen and used Bergen Segways and we had another brilliant tour. This company really goes the extra mile as we were visiting Bergen on a Cruise and whilst at a previous port the Captain advised us we would be leaving Bergen at 12.15 instead of 1.30pm which meant we wouldn't be able to go on the 10am 2 hour tour as the Cruise terminal for larger ships is about a 30 minute walk to Bergen Segways. We contacted Regina at Bergen Segway who was so accomodating and drafted in another guide so that we didn't miss out and arranged for our tour to start at 9am - truly exceptional customer service and something they didn't have to do in accordance with their T&C's. The tour itself was brilliant with a very knowledgeable guide and covered several miles going up and down some steep slopes to get some fabulous views over Bergen. We highly recommend anyone visiting Bergen to do this Segway tour as you will see so much and it is a really fun activity.

We had a rainy but perfect segway tour in Bergen. Our guide, Regina, was brilliant and told us everything, not only about the history of bergen but also about the norwegian life nowadays. We highly recommend this segway tour, as it gives you a great overview of the city and you get to see places where a sightseeing bus would never get.

None in this group had ever used a Segway before. As a 75-year-old Senior, I approached this with some trepidation. Our guide, Regina, patiently taught us how to "drive" in a safe area where we could practice until ALL achieved the necessary proficiency & confidence to start the tour.

Next, Regina asked us what our particular interests were, mine being to see residential & university neighborhoods and to learn about the city's history.

She addressed those interests extensively and proudly also showed the city's impressive infrastructure to promote sustainability and to protect the environment. Clearly, there is so much that we Americans can learn and emulate to improve our own practices in this realm.

A naturalized Norwegian citizen, she read widely and deeply to know and proudly address our particular interests as she narratde this tour.

Bergen pleasantly surprised us with its beauty & will to protect the environment. Although a bit dismayed to see whale-meat available in the fish market and on menus, we heartily recommend both this and a visit to appreciate the nearby fjords!

Especially travelling with youths this is an excellent way to make sightseeing a major activity! Riding the Segway is different, fun and attractive for a teenager, and I was to have mine come along with an otherwise dull suggestion, - joining me on sightseeing. And he loved it! Another thing there is, having this positive introduction to sightseeing, he was just positively tuned on, and did also bother to hear the guide out when information and stories were unfolded. What a win win activity! Me myself just loved the segway. Within minutes I managed to operate it, and my prolapsed injuried back was heading for a comfy ride as the segways are smooth and shock absorbing. I can not recommend this highly enough, as I know how hard it can be to find activities suitable for both teenagers and adults. And what a wonderful way to custom-made see the city with a highly competent guide. Absolutely worth every penny!

The Segways are fun, but the tour was very poor. The reason this review gets 2 stars is because the Segways are fun and an easy way to get around, but the tour and guide we had were terrible.

I have done lots of Segway tours around the world as they are the most enjoyable way to cover a lot of distance and to get into places that other tours can't. This one was the worst of all of them by a long shot.

The guide didn't know how to teach "how to ride a Segway" to people who hadn't been on one before, this led to a couple of crashes and one person was injured.

The tour was "Bergen best views" and the guide didn't really have a plan/structure on what to see. At the very beginning he literally says "soooo, what would you like to see?"

We went to literally 4 stops, the old fire station on the hill (this had a nice view), the train station and 2 statues in the city. That was it.

The short story is that you would be better to hire one of the colourful scooters you see around the place, or get on the hop on hop off bus, and save yourself A LOT money.

I don't know how this is the number 1 tour in Bergen, unless it is a tour of wasting your time and money.

I don't recommend the tour!

Everyone should do this tour when you arrive in Bergen. I was with my husband and 3 children (in early 20’s) plus a friend and her daughters (also 20’s) and we all absolutely loved every minute of our tour. Regina was brilliant at showing us all how the segways worked, they are very easy to manage and so much fun. We then took off around Bergen, seeing so much of the city - we couldn’t believe how much ground we covered. It did rain a bit but we were all supplied with a rain poncho and it honestly did not spoil the experience at all. Regina is a really experienced, professional, fabulous, patient and lovely guide. She knows everything you need to know about the city and we all agreed it was one of the highlights of our whole trip.

Do not hesitate and book this tour for your first days in Bergen. No one in our group ride on Segway before, but our guide was extremely patient and helpful and taught us everything.
Views and places we saw was absolutely gorgeous and without this tour we wouldn't know about them.
Bergen is barrier-free city, so riding on Segway was easy even if I have handicap and I am using walking stick in my daily life while walking.

We've done many city tours and this one was not a favorite. I don't think I would recommend it as a way to learn about the city. Most of the novelty is in riding the Segway. An e scooter tour would have been more effective. It was point two hours and that's not enough time. If you're going to do this tour you'll want to combine with a walking tour to learn about the history of the city. It's an effort of stop and park the Segways, so there are not a lot of stops. Our guide was as good as he could be with the limitations of the Segways.

Really enjoyed this. A mix of city tour (with a knowledgeable guide) and the fun of learning to ride a Segway.

No prior experience necessary. You get a decent amount of time to learn how to control the Segway in a safe experience before being led out onto the streets!

We had Sofie as our guide, she was very knowledgeable and personable to be with :)

We participated in our very first segway tour with Bergen Segway, and we had a blast! Our instructor Tobias was patient and did an excellent job teaching us how to use the segways through various exercises. He then took us on a guided tour of some of Bergen's notable sights and had a lot of knowledge to share at each one. Using the lesser-known alleyways and looking out over the city of Bergen were some of our favorite parts. We can't wait to go on another segway tour. Thanks, Tobias and Bergen Segway!
