    It was just ok
Our tour guide had a lot of information about Norwegian history and folklore, but wasn’t very dynamic. It was also a little difficult to understand everything due to her thick accent.

    Great tour
Maria was the best guide. She packed so much interesting history into a three hour walk and made it so much fun. We knew exactly how to plan the rest of our stay in Oslo with her advice. Highly recommend.

    Great walking tour
Maria led the private tour for our 4 family members. She was a delightful ambassador for Norway. We saw many of Oslo's top sights and learned interesting historical facts. I highly recommend this short 3 hour tour.

A great way to learn about Oslo
Our guide Irina was so knowledgeable during the tour. She picked us up at our hotel and started our walk from there. It was fun to learn about the different laces around Oslo but also learn more about their Constitution Day. I give her great credit for being able to do all that walking and still tell about everything. Thank you! We had a great time!

    Oslo in One Day
A very informative tour about Oslo’s history in particular and Norway’s in general: not much myth involved, mostly factual events, unlike what the tour title suggests. We were a family with an 8 and 14 year old children and the guide was very considerate, addressing them directly, not just us adults. We were in Oslo for one day only; we have covered everything to be seen in this tour.

    Excellent Tour of Oslo
I enjoy this tour of Oslo. The guide was very informative with all her knowledge about the Oslo. The relaxed pace and encouragement to ask any questions made the tour a comfortable and informative afternoon.

The right guide on the right tour
I do not often write any review, but I will make an exception for this one. I met Alla perfect on time in the city center of Oslo at the City hall. From there I got a tour both in space and time. I could easily imagine how Oslo was kept from invasions by the cleverness of Thordenskiold and how he grouped his soldiers so the enemy thought he was much more powerful than he actually was. Then the history of the old style burglars with the robbing of the national bank. There is still a huge amount of money hidden somewhere. But Alla did not stop there, she told lively about ghosts in restaurants and hotels, and even in the fortress. Every minute was exiting. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. The two hours went all too fast, and I would love to come back and hear more. Ola Breivik

I would suggest you explore the city yourself
We booked a walking tour of Oslo thinking it would be the best way to see and hear all about Oslo in the short time we were there but we were wrong. Although the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Norway there was no time to digest the information and see for ourselves. Oslo is lovely and easy to walk round I would suggest you do just that and read the information available, that way you see what you want at your leisure.

A complete waste of time and money
We met our guide Margrete R. at the City Hall on time and was asked what we wanted to hear about Oslo. A bit surprized by the question we emphasized that we wanted to hear about exactly what we paid for: Vikings, criminals and legendary local ghosts and the dark side of local history. You could imidietly sence that the guide was not happy with that, and said that she was rather interested in culture and art. She started off by telling us the meaning of the sculptures on the City Hall, which had nothing to do with any viking, criminal or ghost. This was a sign for how the rest of the tour was going to evolve. What was the most frustrating issue, was that she had no real story to tell and zero structure in her stories, there was a 2-hour walk with mostly descriptions of statues, building and architecture - things that we were not there for. Addionally, the guide lacked knowledge about the things she presented and appeared inexperienced and not at all credible. We are those types of people that easily can believe in a bit overnatural stuff, but her stories couldn't be believed. For example, she initially said that ghosts cannot live more than 250 years, but 5 minutes later she talked about ghosts still living in a cellar of a Hotel that were from the 17th century. Moreover, for some reason she started at one point to talk about oak-trees (she wanted to explain the name Ekeberg), stating that there was absolutely none left in the whole Oslo area, and minutes later we passed a huge oak-tree... She was astonished herself, and we were just disappointed. Throughout the trip it she repetedly presented her own appreciations and poorly judged assumptions, like for instance her political points of view regarding gun-production in Norway. By now, the reader probably will avoid this poor and expensive guided tour, but to be sure, here are some additional points which frustrated us even more: - Her english was a huge hinder for understanding her already fractional stories, and we had to contiously help her finding the correct words. - She was at one point during talking picking up her phone and called someone. - Sometimes she walked in the middle of the streets, and when a car came she started running to the walkers area. - During the tour, it looked like she was more interested in walking a trip herself, than giving us guidance. To sum up, this was a waste of time and money.

    Amazing Norway
My husband and I planned to visit Norway for 8 days in Sept 2016. We wanted to go visit Bergen, Oslo and 2 famous hiking site (Trolltunga and Preikestolen). To cover all these attractions in 8 days would be very tight and we decided to contact Nordiva Tours to help planning about 3 weeks before our trip. Tamara was very helpful and worked out the plan with us and everything was booked and set about 10 days before our departure to Norway. Our route was like this - Bergen - Lofthus - Trolltunga - Bergen - Norway in a nutshell tour - Bergen - Stavanger - Preikestolen - Stavanger - Oslo Travelling between these included rented car, coaches, train, cruise and domestic flight. We were so glad to have Tamara backing us up throughout the trip to make sure we were ok. The cruise from Bergen to Stavanger was cancelled by the cruise line when we were in Bergen just 2 days before our departure and Tamara prepared an alternate bus transfer for us on Sunday and the bus tickets delivered to our hotel while we were having our Bergen tour. No sweat from us and thank you so much Tamara for the arrangement. Norway is such a beautiful country and the scenery are breathtaking. Norway people are very friendly and speak good English so communication is not a problem. Food cost is very high though, and it was good that some of our hotels included dinner so we only spent a few nights eating out. We had a wonderful experience during our trip. Unfortunately we saw left garbage in Preikestolen, and I hope all the hikers and tourists respect the nature and the perseverance being done in this great country. A final surprise from Nordiva was some complimentary museum tickets waiting for us when we checked in The Thief in Oslo. Thank you again Tamara. You definitely made our trip more enjoyable.

    Our first holiday in Norway
It was a wonderful experience - in one week we have visited so many places - from the beautiful whales safari in Andenes to Bergen and Oslo. The nature is stunning and very preserved. The journey in a nutshell from Bergen to Oslo was amazing. People in Norway are very friendly and the support of Tamara from Nordiva Tours was great. For us it was important to have such a competant agent in Norway because in 1 week we wanted to visit many things. We were puzzled by the fact that we had to pay everything by credit card. It is more expensive than other destinations but it is really worth visitting if you like nature and adventures.

    Excellent historic tour
This is a fabulous tour around Oslo city center. We got confirmation pretty quickly and our guide Irina made walking tour so interesting and fun! There is a lot of information that you will miss without a local showing you the way. Oslo’s history is absolutely worth knowing.
