- cujuliee020 contributionsAffordable way to visits the Fjords in under 2 hoursFor the price this was the perfect way to see the fjords and was only 2 hours on the dot. It even rained a bit for the first 30 mins but they had blankets and you were sitting under a covered area, including the heat lamps on the lower outside level. Staff was amazing, accommodating and they have drinks and snacks and a bathroom that was clean!Written September 17, 2024
- thomasbG7096SF0 contributionsWONDERFULHey, it was a fantastic trip ...., I will never forget it. Sunny 25 degrees, a wonderful boat, superfriendly capitan and stuff, perfect music and on board good-vibes-people all over the world. DO IT Love and peace Tom / BavariaWritten September 7, 2024
- AnatoliZ0 contributionsExcellent boat tripIt was a great experience. The trip was well organized and well managed. I would gladly repeat it the next time I am in Oslo. They provide a discount for trips to Oslo Pass holders and sell Oslo Passes in their office.Written August 31, 2024
- juandomingob20190 contributionsGood experienceWe took the Jazz Cruise, excellent. I totally recommend it. Best options to know the coast. Good ambient, music good. The shirmp buffet is normally but good experience.Written July 29, 2024
- deirdres3950 contributionsProblems bookingBooking this was tricky, all times are available, but then you go through the process to discover they're not. Which is fine, but because it's been rejected already, when I confirmed what was available, I was told after declined it takes 72 hours to book again. Very frustrating; we wanted to travel tomorrow, and help desk could not interveneWritten July 13, 2024
- kwarren1070 contributionsPerfect Oslo experienceGreat ship, wonderful views and good narration. They also served drinks and light snacks. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see and learn more about Oslo.Written July 10, 2024
- lesliebauman0 contributionsWonderful tour of the Oslo FjordThis was a fun and informative 2 hour cruise on a 1946 sailing ship. The ship had a good assortment of food and drinks with nice with great bathrooms. The tour was well worth the time.Written July 4, 2024
- tundra19990 contributionsGood Day Out On Oslo FjordIt was a good 2 hours sightseeing down the fjord. You will see some major buildings in Oslo, see some inlets, and learn a bit of interesting history. It is easy to find. There will be a bit of a line, so get there early if you want to get a spot. There are enough decent spots for everyone, don't worry too much. There are blankets onboard, which you will probably use. Not much interaction with the staff, but they were friendly. There is a bar downstairs if you want food, a snack, or a drink. There is also a toilet downstairs. Overall it was worth the time and money. If you want to visit The Fram and Open Air Museum, the ferry is right next to this cruise. You will need to pay for that ferry unless you have an Oslo pass.Written June 24, 2024

- sharongilligan70hotj0 contributionsFjord sightseeing tourIt was a lovely afternoon (2 hours) spent on the Helena. The crew were very friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining and helpful. The boat was comfortable and easy to move around so you could get the best photos from both sides. Don't expect to see the very dramatic fjords in the North of Norway that you see advertised by big cruise companies but we knew this before we booked it. There was plenty to see, especially the Norwegian houses and bathing huts on the shoreline. We booked this direct with NYC because it was much cheaper and the times more convenient than a very similar excursion from the Cruse liner we were on. Unfortunately I had left my purse behind but didnt notice until the next day when we were in Denmark. NYC couldn't have been more helpful. They had found it, kept it for me and posted it to me back home in the UK which was very much appreciated.Written May 31, 2024
- 2nomazi0 contributionsOslo Fjord by Boat: Relaxing Cruise & Charming Summer Houses (OsloPass Tip!) 🇳🇴⛴️We took the Fjordsightseeing cruise as part of our OsloPass, and it was a nice way to relax and enjoy some Oslofjord scenery! The cruise highlighted the charming little Norwegian summer houses lining the shores, and it was amazing to see the beauty of the natural landscape. Keep in mind though, this isn't a full fjord adventure. The cruise stays closer to the city and doesn't venture deep into the dramatic fjords with towering cliffs. So, if you're expecting those majestic postcard views, you might be disappointed. But, for a relaxing boat trip with some pleasant scenery and a chance to see those cute summer houses, Fjordsightseeing is a good option, especially if it's included in your OsloPass. 🇳🇴⛴️Written May 26, 2024

- rtdood0 contributionsA different experienceI sat on the on Wharfside thinking if this experience would be worth it before I bought a ticket, and I'm pleased to say it was. Despite the cruise not being the most visually striking of cruises, it was pleasant none the less with crystal clear weather and glassy waters gliding the boat across the water. The cruise departed bang on time, with boarding starting about 10 minutes before departure and returned on time 2 hours later. The cruise works its way round the harbour area, which is fairly uninteresting, although context is given to a couple of buildings that can be found. From here the yacht sailed out into the fjord, passed some rocky islands, unique waterside houses, and a lighthouse as it circles back to dock again. Information is given in English over loudspeaker with a human guide, she was quite knowledgeable, and made parts of it humorous where relevant to sights of interest on the voyage. The yacht is small but has plenty of seating areas on the deck with long tables, which is where you will be spending most of your time. Views are also fairly unobstructed. Below deck is the toilet and a small refreshment area. I got myself a hot chocolate which was quite expensive, although it was a large glassful, as opposed to a small cup so I'm pleased to say I did get my money’s worth. They do offer small snacks such as warm waffles too. I was pleased to visit and see some sights that I wouldn't have otherwise been able too had I have not done this experience. Yes, it’s not quite the traditional Norwegian Fjord Cruise many picture, but is still nice to do, so expect to see vast waters, rocky outcrops, and if your lucky, Dolphins, seals or whales on the journey.Written March 5, 2024
- dezdonoghue0 contributionsA great way to experience OsloThis was an excellent boat trip and a great way to see the islands of Oslo. We were able to see things from a good view as the boat was able to get close to everything. Parts of it were very cold and windy, which you expect in Oslo in February!, but this didn’t take anything away from the enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend.Written February 6, 2024
- bailjpea0 contributionsFab tour and great staff.I was sceptical about spending 2 hours on a boat, in the middle of January, in Norway, but can say that I am so glad we did. The boat was very nice and authentic but had was fitted electric heat lamps to help keep us warm. Blankets were also scattered around. The benches on the boat ended up being a little cramped, but once the tour was in swing and people were moving about the boat it became more comfortable. The staff were very knowledgeable and were more than happy to answer further questions that the tour raised. The journey around the fjord was beautiful and scenic, I appreciated the tidbits of information on how the fjord was created and the people who lived/live there. The full bar was great with delicious mulled wine, beers and a selection of food on offer. Would recommend this very well thought out and reasonably priced tour.Written January 29, 2024

An interesting experience for Americans unfamiliar with the rite of Norwegian shrimp sandwich making. The cruise was pretty standard. In late August, it ended in darkness and seeing the city lights from the fjord was fun. But the best part of the cruise was watching the meticulous way Norwegians peel and stack small shrimp on a mayonnaise coated slice of white bread, top it with dill, mustard, lettuce, and lemon, and then consume it with knife and fork as an open sandwich, or add another slice of bread and eat a sandwich.

We did the tour in wonderful weather. The ship was extremely packed. Once you were seated on a chair or bench you could hardly move. The shrimp were plentiful and good. But what was missing was a bit of information about the area you were passing through.

So much fun, and just enough time. The location was easy to find. There was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably. The water in late May was calm so there were no issues for sea sickness. There were a couple of tables that were extremely loud, yelling, climbing on the table at one point, obviously inebriated, adults in their 30's and 40's who should have respect for other but didn't. It would have been nice if the captain asked them to calm down so everyone could enjoy more. The shrimp were excellent. I ate a lot of them, I mean a lot.

The ship was so overcrowded that we were unable to sit as a family. The crew didn’t seem to really care. We ended up leaving the tour just before the ship left the dock. Absolutely disgraceful service and a loss of hundreds of dollars

The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the staff on board were very nice and knowledgeable, and the drinks were good. It was a bit cold even with pants and a jacket when we were going fast, but there were blankets available. Overall incredibly happy with the trip and would happily go again.

Disappointed. The boat was full, people were arriving and chairs were being added. No explanation of what we were seeing. Lots of shrimp, yes, but you had to go look for them at the bottom of the boat. I don't mind taking the food, but it seemed surreal since there were older people. They only collected the shells of the shrimp. The expensive drink. I expected something else. I would have paid more for another tour. Disappointing since the landscape is very beautiful, there was no interaction on the part of the tour. I do not recommend it.

Nice, nice night.
Crossing the fjord is beautiful and doing it with the setting sun even more. The evening was not very hot, but warm blankets were available on the benches. The super abundant shrimp buffet. Crew and commander very nice and kind.

A nice and pleasant way to get out of the city and see part of the fjord, the surrounding settlements and nature. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It would have been very welcome if the staff through the public address system had been able to tell us a little about that ship passing, at least while the food was not being served. Even if you go alone, it is not difficult to find company well on board. Do not miss the view from the foredeck when not eating. Great value!

The cruise was amazing! We decided to take the Cruise a few hours after we landed in order to help us stay awake. NO PROBLEM there. Every moment was stunningly beautiful. Plenty of shrimp to peel and eat... Snacks and drinks purchased separately.
The crew was very friendly as well as accommodating with drink requests.
Great way to relax and see the stunning landscape. Highly recommended!

The crew was wonderful and the other people on the cruise were friendly. The sites were terrific and the boat was fun. But the shrimp were a disappointment. I love shrimp and don’t mind peeling them. But, these were very messy and had lots of roe (shrimp eggs). Very messy and the shrimp were not that large. Bread and butter and a few leafs of lettuce didn’t help the quality of the experience. I was looking forward to the shrimp but it wasn’t worth the extra price.
