About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JoanneJ7730 contributionsMagical from start to finishSandra was extremely good at helping me to book this and we loved every minute of the cruise. It was for a special occasion and it's a time we will never forget- a bit of luxury. From the minute of stepping on board and being offered a drink, being shown to our table, the lovely food, company and excellent friendly staff. We wouldn't change a thing and yes we saw the lights!!!! they were very faint but we saw them. Thank you all for a wonderful evening.Written October 7, 2024
- Krysti1090 contributionsAmazing!Amazing experience. Absolutely a dream come true! We were lucky enough to see over 100 Orca. I love that when all the other boats weren't being respectful of the whales our boat backed off to protect and be respectful. I'll definitely be back. I'd like to bring my children next time.Written July 25, 2024
- ginamaycock0 contributions3 day cruise to nowhereWe booked a 3 night cruise to Guernsey but the weather was too bad to lower the tenders so the one and only port was aborted. The cruise turned into a staycation cruise. I have a disability so the small ship suited me as I cannot cope with the large ships anymore, I had booked an excursion and P & O could have given me more information because I found out that I could take my rollator on the tender but not on the coach. They told me I had to do a step test to prove I could get on the tender but forgot to mention that I had to go down 15 steps to get to the tender. As we did not get off none of this mattered but I have written to them about the lack of information. The entertainment was good, there was an excellent rock and roll band who were very talented musicians, The food was ok. Our balcony cabin was also ok, did not like the configuration very much and did not like the fact I had to climb into the bath to have a shower, very difficult for me. Word of warning: Be aware that our cabin 103 on deck 10 was next to the Piano suite and was occupied by someone who could not play the piano. It drove me mad so I turned the sound on the TV to 35 and that stopped the piano racket instantlyWritten July 10, 2024
- Bonnie H0 contributionsNot to be missed! This tour was a fantastic way to see the surrounding landscape for an evening cruise. The staff were kind and knowledgeable and the boat was beautiful. Highly recommend!Written June 25, 2024
- Alexandra S0 contributionsGreat experienceThis was an amazing experience and the perfect way to round off the last day of my trip. The weather was beautiful and we were fortunate enough to see the midnight sun over the mountains on this trip. The crew were excellent, accommodating, attentive and made special effort to point out any wildlife in the area, such as razorbills, eider ducks and a sea eagle. I really enjoyed learning about the local wildlife and the history of the local area and the islands we passed along the way. Christopher was a great host and shared a lot of great local and environmental knowledge. Thanks, keep it classy!Written May 28, 2024
- 457skylak0 contributionsRuined our engagementWe had just gotten engaged and had the aurora dinner cruise booked on our last night in Norway before returning home. We arrived early and decided to wait next to the catamaran until boarding started and as time went by the remaining guests queued politely. It wasn't long before a rude foreign woman wearing purple clothing barged in and pushed everyone away flying a booking confirmation in everyone's faces shouting about her 16 person group booking. She was sent to another catamaran with her group and we waited to board. The staff member could not find my and my partner's names on her list and also sent us to the other catamaran. When we arrived, the same rude woman shouted in my face "you are not part of my group!" And shoved me out of the way. Where I come from, shouting at someone in public and shoving them out of the way is considered harassment. Maybe I was in the way of her group, but it does not give her the right to harass me. When she finally boarded, the staff member also could not find us in her list and said we belong on the first catamaran we came from. We were last to board and was seated at table in the middle of the ship with the view of a staircase whilst everyone else were sitting by the windows with romantic views of the city. The food was terrible too, but in light of the other guest's harassment, not the worst. This company should really invest in a more professional passenger management protocol. Get a tablet or phone with your guest list instead of a piece of paper missing half the names, and manage your group tours separately. Ruined our engagement completely.Written March 28, 2024
- swedeinbulgaria0 contributionsBest trip of the week!7 reviews i am shocked. This was the best adventure the entire week chasing the Auroras. The crew Fred & Lucas were very knowledgeable about the area, history and the auroras and th Polar Circle. The boat is panoramic and many decks to enjoy the fjord and they knew where ti find the aurora. Easy ride, pleasant and even served a warm soup. Id take this every night to chase the lights. If i would change anything is little longer ride during the aurora..it was high chances for several more hours and please serve some bread with soup! Yum. Thanks for a great experience!Written March 21, 2024
- veromM8292GT0 contributionsAmazing landscapes, fauna and sea ice!We sailed on a round trip and visited a few locations with stunning landscapes. The guides used an underwater drone while Juan explained to us what types of fauna and flora we could see. Later we went to a fjord and we saw Harbour Porpoises (small whales) and some eagles and we sailed across some ice at the bottom of the fjord :) I really recommend this tour :)Written March 11, 2024
- Jeff C0 contributionsPerfect ExperienceA wonderful experience which was a birthday surprise for me! Staff were welcoming and food was fabulous. Norwegian tapas starter, hot salted cod main and cold dessert. All delicious and made perfect with the display of northern lights.Written March 11, 2024
- hollys7070 contributionsNice staff/ Boring cruiseThis tour was supposed to include a tour of the fjord near Tromso and wildlife viewing. I have to say that this was the most boring dissapointing boat tour I have ever been on. We saw zero wildlife and basically just slowly cruised around the fjord with no clear focus for hours before returning back. We made a stop at a fish drying area which was underwhelming and paused to see a Cold War era dry dock entrance. The food was expensive and pretty meager. One small bowl of soup and a single half piece of bread. We paid for extra snacks to keep us going. I would recommend saving your money and shop in Tromso instead. The staff were nice which is why I gave it 2 and not 1 star.Written March 11, 2024
- marcvper0 contributionsGood meal, requires luck for it to be worth itGood food, well organized, no northern lights. I've seen the Aurora as part of a bus chase, but there was some light pollution. With the boat, we're really very far from any city and it's almost completely dark in some areas, so I can imagine it would be fantastic to see the Northern Lights on this trip, but you need some luck. The dinner was good and the crew attentive. I wouldn't do it if I knew in advance we wouldn't see the lights, since then it's just an expensive, though pleasant, dinner in a boat. But of course that is impossible to predict and you may want to try your luck.Written March 2, 2024
- 643isaacw0 contributionsGreat ExperienceAn amazing experience, we saw sperm whales up close and personal. The tour guides Veronica and Kim were keeping a close look out and informing us when and whales were spotted. The views on the way to the whale spotting area was incredible as well. Would recommend the experience just bring warm clothes and some travel sickness tablets as the waves got very choppy towards the open waters.Written January 25, 2024
- Omar7861230 contributionsWhales tour cancelled - good alternativeWe booked the whales tour. But couldn’t go because of the weather. Instead, they offered us a small discount to go on the Tromso fjords tour. We were disappointed initially (some more visibility than others!) because we were told on the boat itself rather than by email so we could’ve slept in! But then, we had such an amazing Fjords tour. We saw the arctic landscape around Tromso and ice sheets. The crew were very friendly and tried their best to give us a good experience. Very informative commentary. The boat was brand new (I think just 6 months old). We had a great time. So what started out bad ended up to be quite enjoyable (even though no whales!). On reflection, it’s better not to go in bad weather, so they were right as safety first.Written January 24, 2024
- sophiesgr0 contributionsGreat TourThe tour was great, would definitely go again. The boat was big and clean and was perfect for this purpose. I would recommend wearing warm cloth and also to enjoy the ride to the whale spot! Tour was 10/10Written January 23, 2024
- OriginalJules0 contributionsWonderful whale watching experienceBeautiful day out on a boat from Tromso. A long day with patience needed, but worth it for the breathtaking sight of several sperm whale bulls. Our guides were all great, kept us safe and entertained and made sure we missed nothing. Special shout out to Juan for his in depth knowledge about the phenomenon of sperm whales in this region ;-)Written January 23, 2024

Recommended this company by Wandering Owl (who we did the Aurora tour with). Had looked at the RIB option but so glad we went with this company. Good sized boat and only 21 guests booked on so plenty of space. Cold out on the deck when moving so we enjoyed being inside with panoramic windows so you could see the scenery very clearly. Popped outside for photos and when we stopped to put the drone out.
The crew were very friendly and informative, some history and geography lessons as we went, all very interesting. Stopover at a fishing village was very cool, tasters of fish and cod liver oil. Hot chocolate on the boat was delicious.
All round very pleased to have gone with this option, we wouldn’t have seen as much on the RIB and I fear we’d have frozen!

Tromso is where people go in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights. That was us too but we soon learned that our timing was off and the weather was against us so we went in search of other things to do. We chose this cruise after speaking to some of the local travel guides and given the weather, shopping aside there didn't seem to be a lot more to do.
The weather on the day of our cruise was not great (to say the least) but we still enjoyed exploring the fjords (the sun came out briefly as we ran into the ice sheets), and learning about the way people live, eat and work in this challenging environment.
The heavy snowfall which began mid morning was quite a novelty for us though it did make walking around on the deck a little risky. And given the conditions we didn't see any wildlife apart from a porpoise or two off in the foggy distance. But none of this was the the cruise operators fault, and the staff were great. Making the best of the challenging conditions, they persevered with the onshore presentations and made sure everyone was safe getting on and off the boat as the weather deteriorated. It was freezing on the island but it was interesting to see the fishing facility and drying racks and to have the opportunity to taste some of the fish.

This was an informative tour, with lots of beautiful scenery. Our guides Frank and Frida were excellent and carried a lot of knowledge. Overall I thought it was a great privilege to see the fjords. As someone who has lived in a city my whole life, being able to see untouched beauty was such a privilege. Would definitely recommend if you want to have ample time to take in some new sites whilst learning about the history and ecology!

Took the cruise from the Tromso harbor with Ivan as our guide. He introduced the crew and provided the safety briefing with an interesting twist helping to keep the attention of passengers on an important subject.
Ivan provided narration, information and history, explaining points of interest as we cruised.
Unfortunately, wind and currents were to high to make any stops or launch the underwater drone, but the captain made up for it by pointing out a harbor porpoise and following it for a bit to ensure all passengers got a glimpse.
The ship is lovely, very comfortable and has lots of room to move about. My sisters and I enjoyed our experience.

We really enjoyed this mini cruise through the arctic fjords near Tromso. The instructions and meeting point provided upon booking were clear and Tromso isn’t such a big town so it wasn’t hard to find. The ship itself was delightful, with plenty of space to sit inside where it’s warm and walk around outside if you dress warm (we went in March). It’s a very quiet vessel and the water looked like a glass or mirror. Views were simply spectacular. The fish samples and narration of the journey were interesting and fun. Thank you!!

We stayed in a hotel near by the ship, in the morning no body gave us a call or text to coordinate where to meet or how. However, we managed to reach on time prior to their departure.
The trip was very amazing, it was a like a mix of biology class and amazing views.....I liked it.
The staff were very helpful, the were very talkative and offered to take pictures. The boat is clean and well maintained.
I'd say a free drink on board would have been a nice gesture specially with the price being paid is not low. However, it was mentioned that nothing is inclusive.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to any body.

When in Tromso there are so many tours you can do that it can be overwhelming closing which one. We chose this particular tour as we only wanted a half day tour, due to the cold temperatures we wanted to be comfortable inside a boat and not restricted to outside space. This boat looked great with big panoramic windows. The tour also promised to launch a drone under the water and see what we could see (conditions permitting).
We were not disappointed with any of the above.
The boat was lovely and comfortable with big windows and lots of deck space. The staff were friendly, helpful, informative and fun.
The views from the boat were terrific and our great captain took us right up to the edge of the frozen part of the fjord. Incredible.
The visit to the fishing station was good and a chance to stretch your legs on land.
They did launch the drone but couldn't really see much and due to the sea currents, it was not in the water long. Still interesting to see though. They did play some previous drone footage of a beluga whale which was interesting to see.
Food and drink served on board and not too expensive.
Plenty of deck space outside to wander - careful of the spray and the wind!
Overall, a really enjoyable half day on the water. Would recommend.

The weather wasn't perfect, sadly there was partial cloud, but I'd highly recommend this trip. Sophie was helpful, ran the bar, made the announcements and generally guided us through the natural and human made (WW2) history around the Fjords. The Brimm explorer is a hybrid electric/diesel boat. Despite the cloud there were great views and a stop half way to see some fishing equipment and a tasting.

My friend and I had a great time on this cruise. Although the day was quite foggy and visibility wasn't 100%, the views were still stunning and photo opportunities were plenty. I'd like to give a special mention to our two crew members Kim and Veronika who were brilliant; they were so welcoming and knowledgeable and gave us really interesting info and presentations about the history and geography of the areas we were sailing through, which we really appreciated. The ship was very spacious and comfortable and the free cod canapés were a nice touch. My only criticism was that we didn't stop in either of the locations specified in the cruise itinerary - I don't know if this was related to the weather or the water conditions, but we weren't informed that we wouldn't get the opportunity to disembark as per the itinerary. Nevertheless, we still thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and the sights we saw. Thank you.

We weren't sure a fjord cruise was for us, but we couldn't have been more wrong. It was a great experience that could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The vessel was brilliant and cruised smoothly along the water (my to my seasick-prone wife's relief) with multiple great viewing areas both on deck and inside in the warm. The staff and facilities were great and the route was brilliant offering panoramic views of the beautiful Fjords. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins and porpoises which thrilled the kids. We were also treated to an underwater drone show and very informative and interesting staff. Price was great also (for Tromso in particular). Thoroughly recommended.
