We had a great once-in-a-lifetime experience with Karin! :)) She drove us to locations with the best aurora views, captured amazing pictures of us with the northern lights and made sure that we had a wonderful time. She answered all our queries about life in and around Tromso and shared interesting stories. After the lights faded and temperatures dropped further, Karin took us to her traditional Norwegian cabin in the woods for an authentic experience with snacks & warm drinks. Also, she had all the necessary gear to make sure we are comfortable under low temperatures and while walking on ice & snow. After the tour, she dropped us to our respective accommodations as well. All-in-all, I loved Karin's warm & loving hospitality and really appreciate her skills as our northern lights guide :))

I had very good experience with this tour where i met other people and the guide karen was also very friendly and humble. For 1h of of ride we chased northern lights then we had food and drinks at the cabin with warm and nice environment. Had some pictures clicked by karen with professional camera and sent to me via email. Enjoyed very well....

A wonderful evening with Karin and her husband who were super hosts - and we got to see the lights despite the challenging conditions. With 100% cloud forecast on the night we had booked, Karin kindly contacted us to offer us a tour on the following night, or a full refund. We happily rebooked and were so glad we did. With just 8 people in the group, we enjoyed a really personal experience, great fun and interesting. Based an hour from Tromso in her lovely log cabin overlooking a beautiful lake and mountains, we were warm, comfortable and well fed while we waited for the lights, which duly appeared. As clouds came in, we moved on to chase gaps in the clouds before returning to Tromso, where we were dropped off at our hotel at 2am. Next morning the photos Karin took were ready for us to download - great memories of a thoroughly enjoyable night - thanks Karin!!

Where to begin?! Karin is just AMAZING! She welcomed us with a warm, friendly smile and ushered us into her van and off into the night we went! The cloud coverage was very thick on the night of the tour but she kept our spirits high, telling us about the Northern Lights and telltales from her childhood about the Lights too. The weather for dates rhat the clouds might break so we went to her Basecamp where Karin made sure everyone arrived safely to the cabin in all of the snow and then fired up the grill so we’d stay toasty. She explained the different foods that we would taste - Norwegian kaviar for the win! - as she set up her camera to capture the views. Once our tummies were full and our bodies warm, we jumped back in the van to search for the Northern Lights! Around midnight we found a spot where they began to dance through the sky, entertaining us excited onlookers! Karin was enthusiastic throughout the entire night and had her camera on hand to capture these beautiful moments with the every changing light!! She found the best spot for a night that we will remember for the rest of our lives! Takk Karin for one of the most magical moments ever!

My daughter, son-in-law, and I signed up for the ice fishing but the weather did not cooperate during the biggest storm in 30 decades in the area. So, we decided to do the country sightseeing tour with Skadi. We were WOWED! Karin, a local from this area was perfect as a country guide. She led us to a Norwegian hygge and we cozied up around a fire while she cook us the freshest of haddock caught days before, homemade salad. She even topped off the day with s'mores. Along the way, we stopped to gaze and experience the snow mountains and fjords and took a few pictures, of course She even connected us with another local leader and she facilitated an improntu visited to that place of our particular interest. If there were more than 5 stars, Skadi deserves them. Karin is dedicated to giving visitors an authentic experience no matter her offerings.

Had an absolute blast. Very easy to meet her at the pickup spot, where we were then transported to the fishing spot. It was incredibly scenic and an easy walk. Karin taught us how to drill into the ice and fish. My partner and I were able to catch a few! Karin then took us to her gorgeous home to prepare and cook the fish in her amazing BBQ hut. Overall great experience that my partner and I have already told so many about. Karin was also kind to edit and send out photos/videos of our time fishing.

Tour was canceled, I have to assume due to bad weather because we were never contacted didn’t get a message or email or anything but there was a storm so I understand why they canceled, but it would have been nice to get a heads up. We weren’t even given the option to book for a different day or anything. Very disappointing.

Karin was such a fantastic guide for our Aurora adventure. She went to every effort to find non-cloudy areas where we could see the lights, we very much appreciated her endeavours. We got some beautiful photos even though the clouds did not cooperate very well on the night but that is Nature😊. Food was provided in a beautiful hut including gluten free for me which I didn't expect. I highly recommend Skadi Adventures. It was a very enjoyable night.

We recently went on Skadi Adventures Northern Lights tour. It was fantastic from start to finish. Karin the tour coordinator was just brilliant. We travelled to her base camp just over an hour outside Tromsø. Enroute, the lights started to become visible and Karin had a place to pull in within minutes. When we arrived at her base camp, there was a fire lighting in a traditional Norwegian cabin. There was different foods to cook over the grill and lots of hot drinks. The cabin was an amazing spot to wait for the lights as it was warm and we could eat and drink. We saw other bus tours enrout and all the people were standing shivering on the side of the road while they waited on the lights. Karin took amazing photos for us and shared them that night. We were lucky the night we travelled as the lights were very strong. She even dropped us back to our accommodation in Tromsø. A definite must do on your visit to Tromsø.

Our Ice Fishing trip with Karin was way beyond our expectations. Wow is an understatement. Karin is a superb guide with both so much knowledge and thoughtfulness! We are already thinking about when we can do our second trip!

So, we chose this ice fishing activity because my 17 year daughter really wanted to. My family likes to recreationally fish (we go camping a lot) but I’m not really into fishing. Despite that, this was one of our best tours. Karin is a wonderful guide and a local Norwegian and we had a lovely time. Just being in the middle of the Fjord was enough for me. I enjoyed making the ice hole, etc. and even caught a fish (too small to eat- threw him back) but the rest of my family all caught fish to eat. It’s about a half-hour drive to the Fjord, then 2 hours on the Fjord to fish. Afterwards, we go to her house and have hot drink and treats while she and her husband prepare the fish. Then we go to her Grillhute (like a sauna with a big fire for cooking in the middle). This was so fun!!! See the pictures. I just think the pictures tell the story better.

Karin is the best !! Pick up on time and off we went. She informed us of the plan for the day and how weather and Aurora were being predicted. We drove about an hour to her uncles camp and we were greeted with the most adorable warm hut! We were treated with a homemade meal that her mother and her prepared that is eaten during Christmas. Karin explained all the drinks and food options and the search for the lights was on. We were lucky to see the lights when we arrived. Karin kept updating us on aurora activity and weather. We saw the lights a few more times thru out the night. Talking with Karin was a pleasure! She is an amazing person.

Very fun snow shoeing trip with Karin from Skadi adventures. We really liked it, had good conversations, beautiful views, snow fun and a great dinner in a cozy cabin. Karin is very friendly and enthousiastic. Greetings from Bart en Vera from the Netherlands.

We had the most magical evening on this tour with Karin and we were lucky enough to witness the northern lights about 30 minutes into the tour. We spent around an hour in the same location as the activity was so high and during this time (to my complete surprise!) my partner proposed which Karin amazingly captured photographs of! Karin took photos throughout allowing us to enjoy the experience and relax knowing we would receive lots of good quality photos of what we were witnessing. We then headed to her barbecue hut where we were warmly welcomed by a roaring fire, hot dogs (veggie friendly one's also) with typical Norwegian accompaniments and Karin's lovely wine. A perfect way to warm up! We then headed out to around 3 more location with some faint sightings of the norther lights again - we were certainly spoilt by the first ones we saw. We received the photos by email very quickly and were able to look through them at breakfast the next morning and use them to help share our engagement news with friends and family.

Great experience. Thanks to Karin. It was tough but at the end we saw the unique northern light. Chasing it is more ecciting because you never know where to expect it.
