Overview
Dogsledding with our Alaskan Huskies is our all-time best seller! Join us for a dog sled trip on Kvaløya, one of Norway’s largest islands. The sleds are driven by our guides so you can enjoy the trip and scenery. See great views of the mountains surrounding Tromsø and towards the Balsfjord and Malangen peninsula. With about one hour of dog sledding you also get to meet our 300 four legged friends up close and spend some time with the puppies.
Highlights
  • See around 300 Alaskan huskies at a husky farm on Kvaløya
  • Ride safely on a two-passenger sled pulled by huskies with a professional musher
  • Keep warm by a campfire with a hot lunch during this husky sledding tour
  • Round-trip transport from Tromsø included for extra convenience
What to Expect
This husky sledding tour pickup point is the Radisson Blu Hotel in central Tromsø. When booking, there are multiple tour times available to fit your busy schedule. This tour also provides warm clothes and boots to keep you feeling comfortable in the cold weather. Once you arrive on the island of Kvaløya, your first stop is a husky farm. Under the close supervision of your guide, get the chance to visit with about 300 huskies. Afterward, with a professional musher, go for a sled ride pulled by huskies around the countryside. Next, warm up by a campfire with a traditional Norwegian meal of bidos (a soup made with reindeer meat, vegetables, and broth). Please note that vegetarian options are available, if requested. Your tour ends with a drop-off back at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

So far the best dog sledding experience I had, even if the snow was not the best so late in season. Very friendly team, amazing dogs and a beautiful ride. The meal after the ride was a nice moment too.

We are a family of 6 and went on husky sledding drive from Tromso Villmarkssenter on April 11 2019. We went directly to Villmarkssenter location, which is 30mn drive from Tromso. There is 2 people (guest) and 1 musher per sled. It is not possible...More

Husky sledding was indeed the most fun part of my trip to Tromoso (even more than the northern light!). The dogs were full of energy and healthy. They were howling and fighting anticipating a ride. When they started running, they suddenly became very silent and...More

You are seated throughout the 30 minutes or so of the sledge journey, however, there is no 'give' in the wooden sledge and at times you bounce! Also, we used a minibus to get to the site, which I'm not sure had wheelchair... More

I can confirm, what mikesierra answered. There are several departure times. There is also the opportunity to do the trip by night. And yes, highly recommended. You won´t forget it.
