The guide, Bernard, was extremely informed and communicated well, with a lovely sense of humor and important tangential facts. We walked through the important parts of town and visited the polar museum where he explained he exhibits very well. I delightful afternoon.

The walk was at the right pace with stops for sharing information of a historical as well as non historical value. Gives u a good oversight of the place and what to do with free time eg museums and eateries. Astrid was helpful and concerned about ones comfort. Overall a great way to get acquainted with the layout of the city.

Bernhard, our guide, was easy to find and did an amazing tour with us. In a group of 6 we walked through the old Parts of Tromsø and Bernhard made history come alive with his wide knowledge and brilliant stories he did tell us. Also the visit in the Polar museum was way more interesting, as the guide managed to create a vivid idea of what every room was about. At the end of the tour, we had the chance to come in to deeper contact in the pub with Bernhard and got further information about this and that. I would really be happy about having a tourguide like Bernhard on every city walk, promising an interesting afternoon and not just a boring standard tourist tour.

Great explanation of the history of the artefacts in the museum. Could have done with a bit more about the town. Pub at the end was good.

Sarah was a wealth of information and did her best to include everything that was promised on the tour even though we had a late start due to a couple of folks being late/no shows. We throughly enjoyed learning more than we would have if we had just walked around by ourselves. Communication was great before the trip as well.

My dad and I were a big fan of the historical city walk with Tromsø budget tours. I’ve lived in Tromsø for 8 months now and wanted to learn more about the history of the city. This was an excellent way to do it. Our guide Astrid was quite knowledgeable, personable, and interesting to learn from. We toured local sculptures and monuments, historic buildings, and the polar museum, which gave us a cool overview of the history of the great explorers of the Arctic region. Thanks for a super tour Astrid! It’s a great feeling to now know more about the history of my new home

Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The tour of the city was fairly limited and was the tour was focused more on the Polar museum. The guide added very valuable color to the museum as we went through.

The tour starts with a short stroll of about a kilometer. Starting at a statue of Amundsen and thus returing to the quaiside. Here you walk through a seafood restaurand, look at an aquarium and go on to the polar museum. We thought about exiting the group at this point as this was really rediculous. We stayed and got a really good tour of the polar museum for about 1-1,5 hrs. Here our guide had really good in-depth information making i really interesing to listen. The walk bak was again rather short with onlt few interesting information ending up in the MACK brewery pub. At the end were quite disappointed. Although we knew up front that the tour included a visit to the museum we did not expect it to be the only really substantial part of the tour. 3 stars in totat due to the really good info at the museum but the rest of the tour was 1 star at best. This should not claim to be a city walk but a museum tour as this is basically what it is.

We had such a lovely time with Astrid, learning all about the history of Tromsø. We visited the polar museum which was interesting. Astrid was very knowledgable and friendly, answered all questions and we had such a nice afternoon tour with her. Would highly recommend!

I have done a few city walks and this was average - too longer walks in between stops and the polar museum was at best average…. Leader tried his best but struggled to fully engage th le group… I will continue to do group walks when abroad but I probably would not recommend thjs one!

We had a great time. The guide was incredibly nice and enthusiastic, the tour was tailored according to our interests. We got some great tips where to eat and shop and learnt a lot about the city's history as well. The enterence to the Polar museum is included and itsuper noce to have a guide there. I absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in the city's community and history from the local point of view. A great way to start the stay in Tromsø.

Interesting tour. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Included the Polar Museum and the guide gave us lots of information on the first polar expeditions. Finished in a great bar, which we returned to a few times.

The tour lead by Bernhard was both very informative and entertaining, as he is a great story teller. We were in Tromsø just for one day and the tour enabled us to get an excellent overview of old town, history and the famous arctic explorers. Thank you Bernhard!
