- Steven O00Fun but no Northern lightsOur guide and driver were lovely as were the group we travelled with but no Northern lights to be seen. Saw a reindeer though.
- ssp345600Beyond ExpectationWe had a wonderful experience with Paolo and Andreas as our guides. They went above and beyond throughout the trip to share their knowledge and their enthusiasm about the surroundings. We had a tour with a different company the night before and can't believe how much better value this was. It's shocking they get away with charging similar prices for such a different experience. Highly recommend! Thank you Paolo, Andreas, Rosie and everyone for putting so much love and care into this experience.
- elop1800A great immersive experienceIt was a wonderful experience to go dog sledding in the middle of the arctic mountains. The dogs were all excited to go for a ride! It's true that it's a bit physical because you have to run behind the sled on the way up, but we are not very athletic and we still managed. I recommend you this activity, which is a change of scenery and immersive!
- alis0nc800Winter wonderlandSled safari in a Winter Wonderland This was the highlight of our trip to Norway - the dogs were so friendly and we had a great time sledding through the wintery forest. Memories to cherish.
- kortneyb31800One of the best parts of the trip! The guides were very knowledgeable, patient, and kind! We had an excellent trip out with the dogs and it was a blast! The dogs were so happy and loving, and very excited to run. An absolute must-do on your trip, I can’t wait to do it again!
- Sebastian S00Dog Sled exped half day safariGreat experience, friendly dogs and everything was explained well . The equipment was well maintained and the arctic suits boots and gloves very warm , even in snow blizzard . The camp area was great with local fish soup and I really enjoyed the long Sled safari , it might be hard work for some but worth it !
- franbE6682DR00See the lightsGood tour and facilities. Knowledgable guides.. Reindeer stew was marginal. Campfires were a nice touch.
- janetdD9910AX00BrilliantLorenzo and Alex were excellent guides and eventually found us some lights to see. Brilliant trip and well worth getting cold for!!
- _drrashmi4900Highly Recommend Best Artic Tour for chasing Northern LightsHighly recommend Best Artic "Base" tour to chase Northern Lights. Our Guides Lorenzo and Alex explained about Northern lights very well and answered all our querries. The base camp is in a barn house, is very comfortable with toilet facilities and us being served tea -coffee and a mini meal. To get our photos clicked by them and the fact that we can view and download our photos within the next few days is memorable documentation for us. No freezing in the open for long time
- Jane S00Exhilarating rideAlthough my husband and I were a bit apprehensive about driving the sled it was an amazing experience with great views. On arrival we were kitted out in thermal suits and then split into 2 groups, one goes out sledding and the other pets the dogs and has fish soup and hot drinks. We were the first group to go sledding. Instructions were given and then we were off. We stopped half way and the guide comes round and takes photos of you on the sled. My husband loved driving the sled and wished it had been for longer than an hour. It was cold sitting on the sled and is a bit of a hard ride at times. I managed to get a short video as a keepsake. Would definitely recommend.
- P0tatoes00Amazing ExperienceSebastian was a very seasoned and knowledgeable guide. He played a pivotal role in our ability to see the Northern Lights despite cloudy conditions.
- 771mikew00ExcellentExcellent service, professional and friendly. Even IF a situation outside of their control due to weather or other... flexible and understanding
- cherelleb10000One of the best experiences of my lifeWhat an experience!! The dog handlers were so friendly and informative. We got to pet all the dogs and learn about them. We went off in two teams. First team got to stay back and meet the puppies and then have some soup and tea coffee or hot chocolate and then go off to ride with the huskies. It was snowing heavily so the whole scene was picturesque
- A3333IOjudyr00Amazing tripWe had a great experience from start to finish. The tour was easy to book online and we are sent our confirmation through very quickly. Easy check in process at the tour desk in the hotel. Our guide, Kinga, and our driver were both very knowledgeable and helpful. We had clear skies and saw the lights at each stop we made, which was fantastic. Kinga took professional phots if you wanted her to. The tour arrived back in Tromso at midnight so we had real value for money. There were snacks provided which were meat/ fish or vegetation wraps, cookies and hot drinks. At our camp, where we stayed the longest, there was a camp fire and also indoor warm toilets. It was an incredible experience and I would throughly recommend the tour. Of course, the Lights are not guaranteed but it’s definitely recommended to try! Thank you very much.
- Q2725WNpeterm00Simply brilliant!I was bought this tour as my 60th birthday gift and it did not disappoint. Despite cloudy conditions we were able to see the northern lights at every stop. Arcs across the sky, movement, greens/red colour, horizon glow, and filaments. I was astonished. The guides worked well to find us the best spots and maximise our enjoyment. The hot chocolate was very welcome and we all returned to our hotel very happy. Our coach was brand new with an excellent knowledgeable driver (we even swapped binoculars to look at the andromeda galaxy!) and our Polish guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Sorry I forget names! But thank you so much! I will upload a few photos taken with my mobile but I am looking forward to purchasing a few more from the website. Excellent!!!!!

We went with Tromoso Safari snowmobil for 2 reasons: our kids could go (age 8&7) and it included a ferry ride.
It was my son's 7th birthday on the tour day and he had an absolut blast, as did we all.
We took a coach for 45 mins (shorter than other trips) then a 10 min ferry ride with incredible views and then a 5 min walk. We got changed and was taught how to drive, which was fairly easy.
We then stopped off and had many opportunities to stop and take photos. The guides were amazing with our kids.
We stopped at a hut with an open fire and hot chocolate.
We then returned back to base. While the group changed back to their clothes, the guides let my kids drive a snowmobile, with him ensuring their safety at every second. He created a path and stayed on with them and I gave him permission and they were loving every second. Very lucky!
Then it was lunch - fish or carrot soup, bread, coffee or tea, and a cake. Yum!
We then returned back via ferry then coach.
Loved every second and highly recommend. We were the only ones with kids this time, the others were all adults.

Our instructor Mike promptly assisted the whole group with picking the right gear.
Patrick patiently demonstrated how to start the engine, what to do when accidentally going off track and drive safely. He was good fun, up for a chat and jokes throughout the experience. He made sure even an extremely anxious driver like me could enjoy the ride and familiarise with the snowmobile eventually. He was so kind to film a few videos of us driving.
The sun was out and the whole route is heavenly scenic. We had a few stops to take pictures, pet sledding dogs and finally pampered with some hot chocolate!
Upon return, we were welcomed with a hot soup, bread n butter, coffe, tea and dessert.
They do accommodate any dietary requirement, just inform them upon booking.
Strongly recommended to have good fun and witness a ride scenic like no other!

After having done a snowmobile tour already I had high hopes for this one! And although I had a good day it’s definitely not on the same level as one I had done previous! You are picked up from the radisson Blu hotel and then we dropped a group off along the way to another tour.. then made our way the the ferry where we have to get off the bus and walk on to the ferry (very close) after the 15/20 minute ferry you walk off the other side and walk the rest of the way 5-10min after a safety talk and change in to winter overall you are off! It say you will be on the snowmobile for 1-1 1/2 hours?? This is not even close more like 30 mins total ride time you seem to spend more time stopping and standing around... that’s ok for some pictures and some amazing ones at that but not the amount of time we was standing there! But like I said I did have a good day and finished off with a very nice fish soup before walking back the the ferry!

What an amazing experience! The Lyngen Alps are breathtakingly beautiful. It does take a while to get there. You are on a bus for an hour and then a ferry for about 30 minutes so 3 hours of the experience is committed to travel to/from. However the snowmobiling was so fun and the views so incredible it was worth it. Our guide Patrick was just a delight. I highly recommend.

Greetings!
Thank you for your very kind review. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour so much and that the wait was worth it.
Like with so many things up here in the north, although the distances are long, the wait is usually worth it to be able to get to the pristine and clean nature we have up here.
We wish you wonderful rest of the spring and hope to see you again with us!

Oh yea and the joy of spending over £350 for two
Could of got a weekend away for that

The whole thing is they will allow you to try the snowmobile, a boring drive, that's it.
You will be asked to follow the guide in the front where ever she goes, you are not allowed to drive free out of the track, you will be guided exactly like a cattle with a leader.
You are not allowed to speed up above 20km/hr, if you did, another rude guide will stop you and say if you do it again, i won't allow you to drive again.
What's the point of this ridiculously expensive tour if you won't drive as you want?!!
Stay away from this company.

We did snowmobile tour on 24feb as a family of four.
The tour itself was nice however not well organised. At the beginning they take you by bus to the ferry . After 10 mins ferry ride you arrive at the venue. On boarding the bus, we were told to take out the jackets etc as it was very hot in the bus so we did. After about an hours ride, suddenly the bus stopped and without any warning, we were told to get out of the bus to catch the ferry which was leaving in one minute. We were totally caught off guard. As a family with 2 kids, we somehow managed to grab our coats etc and run for the ferry which was almost leaving in seconds. Just as we boarded the ferry, we realized that we left our bag full of woolens ( scarf, gloves etc) on the bus. I really wish the bus driver had warned us atleast 5 mins in advace. Immediately we called tromso safari. We were told not to worry and that our lost bag can be picked up from their office the same evening. We went to their office almost everyday of our stay to enquire about the lost bag However till today we have not heard anything. No one is interested in helping us. Yesterday was our last day in Tromso. We spent the rest of our stay without our stuff. I feel very disappointed as the staff does not seem to be interested in helping others.

Hello there,
First of all, thank you so much for your feedback. We highly appreciate the constructive criticism as this allows us to improve our service. However, we would like to clarify a couple of details that we consider are not completely accurate. We are very sorry for the stress that implies running around for transportation, especially since you are a family with children. We understand your disappointment. Nevertheless, we would like to tell you that we handle lost and found items every day; we have guidelines for these cases, which we followed with you too. I personally recall to have ringed the bus company that works with us, multiple times, and unfortunately, they didn’t find your bag at that time. I left them the message to send it over to us if they found it. But nothing has arrived yet. My colleagues called as well, before and after I did. And as we also explained face-to-face to you, we use several busses, which are checked for lost property at the end of the day. When our drivers find something, they usually bring it back to us here by our desk. Most of the time, our guests are reunited with their belongings, and sometimes we even send them over by mail. We therefore strongly believe that we did everything in our power to help you to find your bag. Nonetheless our efforts were not enough this time. We apologize again and we hope that you managed to enjoy your trip, and the rest of your stay here in Tromsø.
Kind regards,
Milly

The pickup point was at the harbor and the bus drive was about 1:20 with additional 10 minutes on the ferry. Afterwards our guide picked us up and we had to walk round about 500m to the start point. There they provided a jumpsuit, helmet, gloves, ski mask as well as boots. Afterwards we got an introduction to the snow mobile how to start, how the heating works for the fingers for the driver & the co-driver as well as the emergency brake. Now that we were familiar with the “beast” we gut driven to the starting point where all the snow mobiles were parked in line. The assigned us in pairs the snow mobiles and the ride began. Contra ity to what we expected we drove much faster than 20 km/h. Tops it was something about 70-80. That was faaaaaast but it was amazing. The speed, the landscape and the freedom were unspeakable. I would definitely recommend this tour and everyone can do it even without experience in quad or motor cycle or anything similar. But it takes up your full concentration to stay on track. Check it out :) it’s full adrenaline ☺

THank you for your good feedback and a fantastic description for our Lyngen Snowmobile Safari. ALthough, we focus more on this being a scenic tour, it certainly also can be time for a bit of speed and a aderinalin rush when the conditions allow. We are so pleased that you had such a good time in Lyngen. Thanks again for letting us know. We hope to see you back again in Tromsø.
Arctic regards, Oda (Tromsø Safari)
