Amazing and mind-blowing experience. This is a must do, while being in Bodø! Loved it. Also the stories we got told about the history. They really put effort into making this experience the best for you. Definitely had a smile on my face the whole trip. Recommended!

Fantastic trip!!!

Despite strong winds the ride was not crashy or uncomfortable. Knowledgeable guides who could tell a lot about local nature, geography and geology. We saw a lot of sea Eagles and porpoises. Worth every penny!!

Nice RIB ride to a fascinating natural phenomenon.

Very nice RIB ride to the Saltstraumen and some good stops on the way. The guide only spoke Norwegian so it was very difficult to understand what was said/explained. My teen son did not understand anything even though the Danish language is close to the Norwegian.
Parking close by possible.

We are happy to hear you had a nice ride, despite the language barrier! We truly appreciate your feedback, offering English guides to Danish guests is a very easy adjustment on our part. Thank you for be so specific in you review! Best wishes for your holiday in Norway :)

Interesting enough refreshing but very pricey!
Sep 2019
The suits provided are well designed for safety and comfort but unfortunately two of group's suits leaked. The driver and guide was friendly helpful and knowledgeable. The geology birds fish farm and tidal oddities all were interesting but it all came at a very steep price!

Dear John M, we are happy to hear that you found us friendly and knowledgeable! Although we do our very best to keep all our gear up to date, we appreciate any feedback regarding i e leaking suits on the spot. From time to time they need to be replaced, we want our guests to keep warm, feel safe and stay dry! Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to see you on tour again in the future!

Close to Nature
Excellent from start to finish - the clothing and equipment provided to keep you warm and safe was of very good quality, the boat was obviously very well maintained, and the skipper was very friendly and communicative throughout - even though I was only English person of the 10 on board she took great care to explain what we were looking at (eagles, geology, fish farm etc. as well as rapids) for me as well. Although the main idea was to have an Adrenalin rush I also felt I learnt a lot about the region.
When we got to the rapids themselves our skipper got us right into them and gave us all a really exciting, but safe, experience. Not to be missed!

Thank you very much for an excellent review! You are absolutely right, this might not be for the adrenalin junkies, but a very family oriented tour, suitable for all ages. Our main goals are that our guests will leave Bodø with good memories and new knowledge, mission accomplished it seems :)

Superb trip and history of Saltstraumen
Aug 2016 • Family
This is one of the thing you take for granted when you are born and raised in Bodø. Like it took me 8 years for the first time to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris where i lives. This was the first time for my family to see Bodø and Saltstraumen. Made the decision to try this RiB tour since i had never done it either and MS Finmarken was cancelled that day so i thought not many people as usual from Hurtigruten.
We had a wonderful German lady as our guide, sorry Meike i think it was? Which was so full of enthusiasm and knowledge about all the history, natur and wildlife in and around our trip. Only seven onboard with couple from Napoli and three young boys i was glad she was strict and firm as i had my hand full, since my young boy 7 years old fell asleep in 30knots over 5 times between her stop to explain things. THIS IS A MUST for all visiting Bodø and excellent service, top knowledge and Superb trip! So personally taken by things i have taken for granted and my family was lost for words. Thanks again Tore for your tip on how to book, rock on Stella Polaris!
