    Extremely disappointing
When we visited only the top floor, with the impressionist paintings, was open to the public. We were told that the state rooms that we had been expecting to see were only a 'bonus', were being used for a private event and were closed to the public. Some of the impressionist art is quite good but a lot, including some by very famous names, looked like it had been rushed off in half an hour and was crudely executed in the extreme. Many of the paintings seemed to be more about the mental state of the artist rather than portraying anything of historical or social significance. This was such a contrast to the classical art and sculpture on display in the Kunsthistorisches Museum which we had a seen a couple of days previously. I actually found myself resenting the fact that the 'art' on display here was being accorded equal status with the classical art, sculpture and architecture to be found elsewhere in Vienna.

The Museeum is great! BUT the service of Tripadvisor and Portal “Tickets without queue” are overpriced, cumbersome to handle because the ticket was not sent directly by Amil but you had to download it separately from Tripadvisor! The ticket was not flexible and non-cancellable! It is BETTER to book online on the museum website!
