We have been there a few times before (love Vienna) and were just looking to relax, walk around, have some nice food. For one of the days, we thought it would be nice to maybe visit a couple of vineyards - which is when we came across this wine tour. Mary-Luz was our guide and we had a wonderful afternoon! We went to one somewhat larger, more commercial producer and then to a smaller operation with a wonderful wine garden (Heuriger). We tried several wines in both locations, got to meet the owners and learned lots about local grape varieties. It was a very enjoyable and personable experience, I loved it. Mary-Luz was super sweet and informative - I look forward to hopefully be able to go on another tour with her next time we are back in Vienna.Written July 3, 2020

First of all, City and Wine team is amazing. Tamas was fabulous with advance email communications - answering my many questions, arranging snacks and dinner to avoid my food allergies and providing detailed reminders for our tour. Martin, our driver and tour guide was a careful driver, shared wonderful information, narratives and stories throughout our 5 hour afternoon/eve.
Our small group consisted of us with two lovely, delightful and professional young couples - one from Denmark and the other couple from Germany. The wineries were generous with their pours, snacks/dinner, and especially the time they spent educating us and and answering questions. The Austrian dinner had so many scrumptious choices that I couldn't even touch my last glass of wine. I truly recommend this excursion as a fresh change of pace from in-city cultural and historic sight seeing. Cheers!!!

Greatest experience ever! Norbert took us to 3 different wineries where we got to know wine processess by the owners. The dinner was delicious and the group we hanged out with was awesome.
Pick up from hotel was punctual, i recommend giving them a call during the day to clarify the pick up instructions, but the rest of the experience is very smooth and Norbert, our driver, was very knowledgeable and nice. We had great fun!

Whether you have a lengthy or short stay in Vienna, we highly recommend this tour option. Our guide was splendid, easy going and full of information. He was very punctual and kept us moving (we can get chatty after a few glasses of wine - haha), to ensure we were on time at our next stop.
The wineries that were selected were lovely, all small and family operated. The wine was impeccable and the service fantastic. We can't say enough about our experience, the lovely wine makers we met, and our guide.

My husband and I took the afternoon wine tour with dinner during our September stay in Vienna. The tour provided a beautiful foray into the Viennese countryside as we visited three family-owned wineries/vineyards. Martin was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. We had a small friendly group that quickly developed a feeling of genuine camaraderie. We are both vegetarians and there was plenty to eat at the dinner. The wine was delicious, and was available to purchase at reasonable prices. All in all, a wonderful outing and we highly recommend it.

I learned a ton about Austrian wines (as well as the wine-making industry and the exceptional role of the state in guarantying quality wine); during the lunch, I also learned the basics of how to order local food and of the particular delights of the heuriger or wine tavern: which knowledge I put to use the very next day when we sought out a heuriger on the outskirts of Vienna. Everybody was friendly, but especially worth observing is how amazing our host Martin was -- not only in conducting us in an enjoyable way to our destinations, but above all, as a fountain of information about life in contemporary Vienna and Austria. Thank you, Martin!

Last weekend, five of us went on the entertaining wine tour. We were picked up at a very centrally located hotel in the city center. On the way there, the friendly tour guide Martin told us about the wine region (in English and German; two Americans also took part in our tour) and had answers to almost all of our questions. At the first two stops, we were served small snacks in addition to the extremely tasty wine tastings, and at the end there was a typical Austrian warm meal. Due to the good mood of everyone involved, the tour was extended by more than an hour (with the consent of all participants, of course) and we would have liked to have spent more time with our new friends from America, the young tour guide Martin and of course the winegrowers/dealers.
In my opinion, the tour is highly recommended for all wine lovers, regardless of age and origin, the price is definitely justified.

This was our favorite experience during our Vienna trip! We got to taste amazing wines, experience the countryside, and learned a lot about the history of Vienna and its wine culture from our tour guide. The highlights: delicious food and wines, a very knowledgeable and personable tour guide, and a great view of the countryside surrounding the city. If you're visiting Vienna even for a short trip, we highly recommend this!

Visited 3 wineries with four tastings at each. Dinner was provided at the final winery. The wines were excellent and the dinner was comprised of traditional Austrian foods. Our guide, Rudy, was very knowledgeable about wine and provided detailed regional history.

The different vineyard operators and especially our tour guide Stefan we’re all extremely hospitable and knowledgeable.This was one of the best wine tours we have taken. I’ve been to Napa 3 times, Sonoma, and Australia. Everyone in our group was extremely personable from Israel and Germany. The last place we visited, the gentleman that served us the wine had been there over 50 years. You could see the pride and joy he exuded. The food was served family style. he made the pork roast. We would highly recommend. The 3 wineries were close to Vienna and the van was very comfortable. The mother and daughter had done this exact tour before. That speaks volumes. The tour guide in training was also enjoyable too. A fun time was had by all.

A really good, informative trip. Rudi was a great host and really knew his wine. He took us to two different wineries at a beautiful location just outside Vienna and you get to sample four different styles of Austrian wines, all of which were excellent and top quality. A nice lunch of spaghetti and chicken schnitzel was served at the second winery before we headed back. Definitely recommend.
