- Nick B0 contributionsThank you RalfAn excellent tour our group would all highly recommend. Ralf was an excellent guide and shared his own journey in such a transparent and honest way. Thank you Ralf and we all hope the future is good for you. Book this tour!Written November 12, 2023
- D521CTsaraha0 contributionsBest experience I had ever at a guided Tour! The Shades Tour was a very authentic method to learn more, than someone can learn from books. It‘s to lesen about people and theire lives/storys and much more. Everyone should make this experience.Written October 28, 2023
- moanag6840 contributionsA must do, for everyone who wants a meaningful interaction with ViennaI heard about Shades Tours a while ago, and when I looked it up I realized it is exactly what I wanted when exploring a city. Rather than just going from tourist site to tourist site it gives you insight into the life reality of one person and with it another layer to the complex question of what it means to live in Vienna. My guide Ralph was amazing - he structured the tour in an interactive way, created conversations between us, shared his story, and most importantly answered all our questions thoughtfully and with patience. He created a space where people could have a conversation and create an exchange on a topic we normally rarely talk about it and where people are often afraid to ask questions - everyone was respectful and considered, and thanks to Ralph, it felt like my whole tour group had the feeling as if they could be vulnerable and open. Definitely can recommend this tour - it will open up a whole new world.Written July 24, 2023
- dagobertd9690 contributionsGreat tourWe had a class tour in the 6th district. We were initially toured by a young man whos name I dont remember and an older man named Vlad. They were both very kind and professional, teaching us a lot about Drugs and Addiction. I definitely recommend this, as it sheds light on subjects which are often not spoken about.Written June 21, 2023
- Passport647062150690 contributionsShades tour with guide Vlad.My school organised a shades tour for us. With little information we went on the tour and I was blown away. We went on the tour that talked about drug abuse in Vienna. The tour took us to unusual places such as the police station, a pharmacy, squares and parks. The best part of this experience was our tour guide, Vlad. He talked about many interesting topics and was very open to talk about his own experience, this added great value. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing Vienna from a different angle!Written June 20, 2023
- C7157SCwaltert0 contributionsyou should do it - helps you to understand a dark part of the world betterI think everybody should join a tour at least once in his life. We see homeless people and there is sometimes some discomfort how to deal with this. I had a tour with Roman yesterday and it helps you to learn a lot, get a better perspective and put it into context. It was interesting, challenging, very open discussion and insight - loved it and will make me a better person. Good luck to all the thousands of homeless people and please join this tour to better understand the why, how and what. WalterWritten May 12, 2023
- 307fert0 contributionsShades tour with VladI was offered the opportunity to join this tour through university. I went with little expectations beforehand and attended with a small group of students. Vlads tour included educational facts, insights in austrian policy, his own story (which was moving as well as thought provoking), and some interactive back-and-forth with the group. This experience will likely stay with me longer than I can imagine at this time. I would like to recommend these tours for anyone from young adults to all ages.Written January 14, 2023

I really enjoyed this tour and it gave me a different kind of perspective of Vienna that i have never sern before. The guide told us a lot about his own experience and that was quite interesting. And two hours was plenty of time for pur guide to explain everthing and show us around. Definitely worth checking out!!

The shade tour was very touching and interesting. Our guide explained the different problems if you become homeless and that it can happen to anybody. Norbert shared some personal details and i can tell everybody in this group was touched by his tour.
I thought about his story for a long time. Thank you for guiding us and letting us ask all kinds of questions.

We came to Vienna from Munich in a group of 24. We have been shared in two groups and we had a very interesting tour. Peter and Manuel are super friendly, open minded and have a lot of special knowledge about the happenings in town. I recommend the tour to everybody who wants to see and hear a little bit more of Vienna. Thanks again to Peter and Manuel. We wish you all the best.

Amazing tour - it gave lots of insights about the various reasons for slipping into homelessness, and how the system in Vienna works to get people out of homelessness.
Lots of aspects that I didn't know a lot about were cleared up - e.g. where can homeless people get food, shelter, and help in Vienna.
All of this was accompanied by the crazy and fascinating story of our guide.

Peter was a very sincere and well-informing Guide. I recommend the Tour! We learned about different topics in terms of homelessness - where to sleep, about food, medical treatment, leisure activities, pets, Stigma and more.

Guten Abend ,
