Katarina, our super knowledgeable, specialised, local guide gave us a fact- and fun- filled generous 2 1/2 hours at this stunning venue. As an extra treat, 'Judith' by Gustav Klimt was actually in the house ! She met us at our hotel and we decided to walk to the Belvedere and gave us a fantastic history lesson along the way. - Y1734XMdenisem0 contributionsA true professionalOur tour guide, Katarina, was a very informative and professional person. She took extra time to answer all of our questions so we could learn more of Vienna’s history. Knowledgeable also of world affairs. She was calm while being challenged by a person in the public domain. She did not let the rude interruption derail the rest of our tour. We would recommend her to everyone!!Written September 25, 2023

Suzanne our guide was in her element!!! Her areas of study and work are historic landscape architecture and art history - where better to help people learn than Schonbrunn?! She is fluent in (at least?!) four languages, is enthusiastic, speaks with great volume and clearly, and really helps you make connections through the centuries that make Schonbrunn come to life.
I especially liked the way she started at the map (see photo) so we could get a sense of the scale, and continuously dropped reference points "we will circle back to this later" then "remember I said?..." She is a pro and it is always wonderful to meet someone so passionate about their work.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the palace and the lives of the rulers who lived there. She was able to bring all of it to life which my husband and I really enjoy. She knew all the intrigue and drama as well as the facts of government, which made for a very interesting afternoon. She navigated the larger groups, kept us moving, and always made sure we had all questions answered.

Wonderful historical informative tour of gardens and palace by Ilse. She was very knowledgeable and explained things very well for an inquiring tourist wanting to learn the history of the palace including how world events and wars affected it’s history. She was very easy to understand (our tour in English) and timing of tour was spot on so we were able to enjoy the full experience.
Bring a handheld fan for warmer summer tours and your camera for some beautiful outdoor garden shots but no pictures allowed inside palace. Finish the tour by enjoying delicious apple streusel - or watch it being made - next door at the cafe - delicious!

We had a brilliant guided tour, tailored to our interest in history especially Sisi and the architecture of Schloss Schönbrunn. Our guide Annelie was a veritable fountain of knowledge which she shared in a lovely and engaging manner with lots of little snippets and anecdotes which made the whole morning very memorable. Her audio sets were also genius because it meant we could follow her historical explanations despite the June crowds. Would warmly recommend if you want a bit more out of your tour of this fantastic palace.

Our tour guide katarina was fabulous. She was so knowledgeable, passionate and fun. My daughter and I had a wonderful time because of her. She really went above and beyond taking pictures of us, helping me find a place to get a rapid pcr test…getting on the phone and making all the arrangements for me. The tour will always be a cherished memory,

Wonderful tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable. We were lucky to be the only two on the tour. I would highly recommend that the company modify this visit to include the zoo. On a nice day it wound be fun to spend the entire day at the summer palace. Lots to see and do. I would go again.

We LOVED this tour!!! Katrina was incredibly knowledgeable and answered our questions with astonishing expertise. The Palace was incredible and my family said later we never would have wanted to see it without the guided tour to help us understand all the incredible history we were seeing and really bring it to life. I fully recommend this tour!

We have had many experiences with tour guides over the years, but this was not my favorite. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable, but I felt like we missed out on much of the information that would have been available on the audio tour. We did get to go almost straight in, but I wish we heard many of the details about the items in each room.

Thanks for reviewing. We've been so proud of this tour for the wonderful reviews that it usually gets that we've done a lot of talking as a team about what might have made this a less effective experience for you or left the impression that the fabulous details of the palace were not thoroughly explored. We want to make sure to give a brilliant and memorable presentation every time! Safe travels and thanks again for giving us your feedback.

Katarina was fantastic! Great communicator and extensive historical knowledge- highly recommend! The Schönbrunn Palace and gardens are deserving of a full day. Bring a picnic and enjoy strolling the grounds after the tour. There’s a cafe and an excellent restaurant if you need sustenance. It gets very busy so go early- enjoy! Mary Ann

How does entry fit with the Vienna pass. It states guide will help you purchase your tickets. Should we pre-purchase front of the line with specific entry time for when we meet guide or is our pass entry good.
I see this question has been asked before but unfortunately there was no response.

We met our guide outside near the gift shop. Then she walked us over to the ticket entrance to begin our tour. We did not have a Vienna Pass.

We are very interested in this tour. We are hoping to spend the whole day at Schonbrunn, including this tour, the various outdoor gardens, possibly the zoo, and an evening concert. With that plan in mind, we wondered if it would make more sense to book a 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM session of this tour. (Both are still available during our travel week.)
Also, the description says "Your guide will help you to purchase your Schönbrunn Palace & Park entrance tickets." We are thinking we might buy ViennaPasses, which include free "Classic Pass" admission tickets. Can that work with the logistics of this tour?
Particularly interested in the thoughts of the tour operator. Thanks!
