It was cold and rainy on the day of our visit, the outside grounds are massive. I got lost trying to find the entrance to the Imperial Treasury. I wish there were more signs or a bigger entrance way to the treasury.
After struggling in the rain we found the door in one of the lower levels of the building. I approached the ticket vendor and purchased my tickets, walked past a small open gift shop and past security to be sent upstairs to enter the treasury.
The museum itself was darkly lighted to emphasize the splendor of the treasures. There were a variety of collections to story-tell the wealth and power of the empire. I had stopped a staff to ask a few questions about the pieces and they were more than willing to help. I told her I wanted to see the Holy lance and she guided me through to show me where it was located.

Overall worthwhile experience especially to avoid the cold rain. Staff working at the museum were knowledge and quite friendly.

This is a great museum, and the Crown Jewels on display are amazing. So much history and glamour! Go early when it opens to avoid the crowds. This is not part of the Sisi Museum, so a different ticket is needed. Buy your ticket a day in advance and go in early the next day.

I spent about 3 hours here because I love history. This was an interesting exhibit and had solid art. There were some strange inconsistencies with some exhibits having english explanation and others not. I recommend getting the listening resources for about 6 more euro. Any art lover would enjoy and there's a solid amount of history there too. I found the Bernini and Caravaggio exhibit somewhat underwhelming even though they emphasize it pretty heavily. There are also some items that they don't allow you to photograph. Overall a very good museum experience.

A beautiful architectural building that will take your breath away, as most do in Vienna!
Service was excellent from entry to waiters to security. The entrance doors, foyer and grand staircase are ridiculously huge and unforgettable. So impressed by the scale and quality of materials.
We experienced the special evening Dinner (only Thursdays) and toured the stunning Rubens exhibition.
The service and quality of food matched the incredible atmosphere and surrounds of this amazing building. The dining experience is something one must do! Our children really enjoyed it too.
Get fancy, dress up and celebrate a special occasion here..its worth every cent!

Jewels and other regalia definitely worth seeing, though I think the collection in Dresden was superior. This includes the largest emerald in the world. I loved the narwhal tusk too! The collection was a little heavy on church vestments.

As one of the preeminent art museums in Europe, this is a Must See for any art buff or anyone who appreciates art from the classical masters. It helps that the setting is also in a beautiful building. There are crowds, of course, but the museum is large enough to dissipate the masses to where you never feel crushed. Yet it is not so big that you could not try to see most of it all in one day if you just skimmed through parts of it.

Overall we had a great time and the Christmas market that is outside is also very nice when it is running up to around New Years.

Our ticket also included the Imperial Treasury. This is much more than just a crown and a few gems. There are all sorts of royal garments, artifacts and historical pieces throughout that are all nicely presented. For anyone with a young girl, don't miss the real "unicorn horn" on display as well.

At first we were not sure it was worth it to go, but this was surprisingly worth the trip. You should allow for around 1 hour to see all of the exhibits. It is right in the Hoffburg palace near where most things are so it should be easy to fit in.
