What to expect
As the former summer residence of the powerful Habsburg dynasty, the UNESCO-listed Schönbrunn Palace is considered by many as one of Europe’s most stunning baroque structures. Step inside the palace at any time during the palace's opening hours with your entrance ticket and begin your audio tour. Enjoy a self-guided exploration of the guest apartments, along with the lavish decor of Emperor Franz Joseph’s quarters. As the former summer residence of the powerful Habsburg dynasty, Schönbrunn is considered by many as one of Europe’s most beautiful baroque palaces. Explore the UNESCO-listed site from the west wing, with the apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elizabeth, through to the State Wing. Continue to the guest apartments, with their richly ornate décor, and then take a turn around the Franz Karl Apartments, which were once occupied by the emperor’s parents. Afterward at 6.30pm head inside the Ehrenhof restaurant, adjacent to the main palace entrance to savor three courses of delicious Austrian fare (drinks available for purchase). Or, in the summer months (from May to September), take a seat outside at a table on the garden terrace. Appetites sated, continue to the Orangery Schönbrunn for your classical music concert. Take your seat in your chosen ticket category and enjoy a performance from the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra, accompanied by a soprano and baritone as well as two ballet dancers. Hear famous arias and overtures by Strauss and Mozart, such as Radetzkymarsch, Don Giovanni, and Le Nozze di Figaro. Enjoy sparkling wine at intermission if you select a VIP or category A seat. Your evening of Austrian culture and cuisine concludes after the concert.

Lovely day but we could have had better information .............
Feb 2020
I paid for the triple event tickets online in advance and they were ready for collection at the Orangerie on the morning of our visit. Having collected the envelope I then had to cross the road and find the group Ticket office to exchange our Palace ticket for what turned out to be the official Palace ticket! I specifically asked for confirmation at the Orangerie that we could go into the Palace for the tour at any time during the day as this had been specifically mentioned in the letter which was with my tickets and was told yes. At no point did anyone say we had a timed Tour. So, we went to the carriage museum, up to the Gloriette for lunch then to the zoo before going in to the Palace where we were told that we were 5 hours late! Thankfully the Palace was quiet that afternoon and we were allowed in. Meal was a tad disappointing as the 3 course meal was in fact a set menu with no choices for any of the courses - one choice of starter, one main and one dessert, Thankfully we liked all three! What we weren't made aware of was that Palace closes at 5pm as do most other places within the palace grounds which meant we had to wait until just after 6pm to be able to go into the restaurant for dinner. The concert was lovely and in great surroundings. We enjoyed the whole day very much but could have done with a bit more info in advance of our visit.

disappointing diner concert
Dec 2019
The diner was set outside the Orangerie, in a bistro-style bland restaurant with busy pesonnel and tasteless food served in a haste, probably waiting for a much more profitable service after ours.
The "concert" has barely started half an hour, we got a 30 minutes unjustified break maybe to pour some fresh tourists money into the bar business.
At the end, a Christmas concert one's has to forget right away not to be at odds with Christmas.

Dear LAURENT77100M, we are sorry the cpncert did not meet your expectations. We will of course send your feedback to our partners from the restaurant as well. Since we got so many excellent reviews, we really wonder what went wrong. We always like to improve and ask you to write a more detailed feedback to nina.bergmann@imagevienna.com if you find time. We still hope you enjoyed christmas in Vienna, kind regards,

Definitely do this but don't go too late or too early. Arrival at 4 pm is good. Try to pick more front rows in the concert otherwise you don't see anything and you hear the kitchen/bar closing and cleaning up. Very noisy staff!!! But you'll pay more for front seats

Dear Morrisodjdben, thank you for your review! You are right, paying more for front row seats is definitely worthwhile, as you are closer to the stage and the performance. Our bar staff take the utmost care to not disturb the concert while they are preparing drinks for the interval, but the location of the bar makes it impossible to be completely silent. We apologise if you felt they were too loud on the day of your visit! Best wishes from the Orangery,

Nov 2019 • Friends
We had first to go to the Orangery to collect our pack. Then across the road to get the entrance ticket then back to the palace which was all time consuming but all the staff were courtesy and helpful just wish it was more convenient. The palace is spectacular and the audio tour let us do it at our own pace and repeat sections when we wanted. Do note it gets dark early so by 4.30 we didn't see the views from the windows
The restaurant had lovely staff and is beautiful but sad to say the meal was below my expectations
The concert was fabulous as is the acoustics in the venue thoroughly enjoyed it.
The interval drink was meagre and service was slow and disorganised.
All in all we did enjoy but for the price €130 per person I expected a little more

Dear ThomasinaR1, thank you very much for your feedback about our package "An Evening at Schoenbrunn: Palace Tour, Dinner & Concert"! First of all we want to apologize that not all parts of our package could fulfill your expectations. Please let us address some of the issues you mentioned: Concerning the collection of the tickets, we are already working on improving the situation. You are right, that some walking needs to be done in order to collect all tickets and to get from one activitiy to another. Moreover, it would help us a lot if you could explain why the meal was below your expectations by mail to miriam.hutter@imagevienna.com, so that we can improve this part for the future. Furthermore, we will talk to our bar staff and make sure that the organisation and service will be enhanced. Last but not least, we are grateful that you still liked many parts (the acoustics, the classical concert itself, the service at the restaurant, the audioguided Palace tour etc.) and we hope you remember the evening in an overall positive way! Best greetings from Vienna!

Dear Tonya W, thank you very much for your feedback about our package "An Evening at Schoenbrunn: Dinner & Concert"! We are sorry that dinner experience could not meet your expectations. We have been working with this well established restaurant for years and they normally get good ratings. Maybe you could explain in detail what you would improve about the meal as well as the location by mail to miriam.hutter@imagevienna.com. We would then discuss this improvement suggestions with the restaurant to further improve the package. Moreover, we are delighted that you praise our classical concert as fabulous and that you liked the atmosphere of our alternative concert, the Great Gallery. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you again one day! Best greetings from Vienna!

The meal consisted of typical Viennese dishes .It was very good and tasty. The waiters were very professional and helpful. There was a good selection of wines. The concert was amazing. There was a wonderful atmosphere and the setting was magical. Unfortunately the tour of the palace was very disappointing. We had to queue for nearly an hour to get the tickets despite booking on line. Once inside the palace it was very crowded and difficult to see things.

Dear Coastal497651, thank you for your rating of our package "An Evening at Schoenbrunn: Palace Tour, Dinner & Concert"! First of all, we are very happy that the 3 course meal as well as the service at our partner restaurant were to your full satisfaction. Moreover, it is wonderful that you praise our concert as amazing with a magical setting. Furthermore, we feel sorry that the Palace tour could not meet your expectations. On busy days it is true that the queues are very long at the Palace and it is crowded, as it is Austria's number one attraction. Together with the Palace we are working on a procedure to ensure that waiting time at the Palace will be limited for our guests, which we hope to implement at the end of next year. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again in the future! Best greetings from Vienna!
