About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- anns7430 contributionsNot worth the $The bus tours were disappointing. The representatives at the stops were rude and unfriendly. If you just use it as transportation it is ok, but not worth the ticket. They advertise free WiFi on board, when I told the rep it didn’t work, her response was oh well it broke. Skip it and use the trams.Written October 14, 2024
- MaxOregon0 contributionsYou either love or hate the hop on hop off experience, and this was no different than any other we’ve experienced. We have traveled all around Europe, and often use busses like this in cities where we don’t know a lot about them. As such, they provide a good service of providing an overview of a city with historical or practical commentary. Clearly, if we knew everywhere we wanted to go, mass transit would be a better and cheaper option. Also, there are very few of these busses we’ve been on where some of the audio ports didn’t work, or some employees viewing customers as eye-roll inducing ignoramuses (it’s not a great job for anyone). But they do provide an appreciated service, and this particular one was pretty much the same as we’ve experienced all over Europe. We did wonder what a tour in the summer might be like, because even in October with the sun shining through the all the glass on the top, the upper level became positively roasting, with no air conditioning and no way to open windows. My guess would be to try to find an open air bus in the summer and wear a hat and sunglasses.Written October 13, 2024
- DebzG860 contributionsA worthwhile day trip out of ViennaReally enjoyed this day trip. We started off by visiting the small town of Durnstein. Not much to it but we did enjoy trying (& subsequently buying!) some apricot liqueur. We then got the bus to Spitz, where we picked up the boat for a leisurely 90 minute cruise along the Danube. Thoroughly enjoyed this section of the day as we got a couple of drinks & sat on the top deck & enjoyed the views as we sailed along. We then arrived at Melk but we hadn't booked the Abbey tour. This meant we had a good 2 hours to relax and enjoy a nice lunch and also explore the town. We did visit the Abbey & got to see most of the outside as well as the Abbey shop where we purchased some wine! I would definitely recommend this tour if you've got the time when visiting Vienna.Written September 30, 2024
- dale_river0 contributionsA worthwhile day tour from ViennaThe tour was pretty well organized. There was some confusion at the Opera meeting point—it was raining and the bus arrived late. However, once we took our seats, everything went as described. Our multilingual guide, Tomy, gave the commentary in English and Spanish. The visit to Durnstein was brief (use euro coins for the bus stop WC!), but the village itself, though charming and surrounded by vineyards, is quite small. The Danube cruise from Spitz aboard the MS Durnstein was scenic and relaxing. We ate in the floating restaurant, which was affordable and pleasant. Once in Melk, we waited around in the rain for our tour of the magnificent abbey, guided by a nice young woman, who showed us some of the highlights in the museum and library. The abbey restaurant was also a welcoming spot for a break (yummy coffee & pastries). Despite the rain, the entire all-day experience was worth it, and we're glad we took time out of our stay in Vienna to see some of the Austrian countryside.Written September 17, 2024
- Dean G0 contributionsClean bus and friendly staffGood fun, staff were friendly and the bus was clean. The routes are a bit drawn out so you end up driving a lot and getting stuck at the many traffic lights. On a sunny day you get decent views passing through the city. There are complimentary earphones and an audio guide in many languages available. The paper map was good too.Written September 15, 2024

- F4464MValanp0 contributionsBeautiful day on the DanubeThis is a full day tour involving a 90 minute bus ride each way. First stop is an old town which is cute, but not much to see there other than tourist stores and ice cream shops. Then boarded a boat for a 90 minute boat ride up the Danube. Beautiful scenery and a nice way to spend the day if the weather is nice. But there is only a few seats outside that are shaded, so hard to be on the deck on a hot sunny day. The other two decks are basically enclosed restaurants with service. You can see well through the windows and the air conditioning is good, but would be better if there were more shaded areas with an outside breeze. After the boat ride is the town of Melk, a beautiful old town with an abbey well worth the trip. Plenty of time for lunch at a restaurant in town, but the walk back up to the abbey in time for the tour is quite a climb.Written September 6, 2024
- jimmerc20180 contributionsGood Tour But May Require More Than One DayWe bought single day tickets for all 3 of their lines plus the boat tour. We were unable to use most of the ticket because riding all 3 lines would take all day and maybe more. audio was informative and was well synced with what we were seeing. The .We did take the boat cruise but be aware it takes you along mostly industrial and office buildings. It was relaxing, however.Written September 3, 2024
- bscott65150 contributionsVery nice getaway from the city of ViennaA very nice experience overall. The bus trips were nice and informative (by the tour guide), and the boat ride at 90 minutes was the perfect amount of time to spend on the boat. The stop at the Melk Abbey was nice, but I was not very impressed with the tour given by the Abbey tour guide. We are still glad we went, but were a little disappointed in this portion of the trip.Written August 30, 2024
- Tunes790 contributionsFun and Easy way to Explore the ParkOur two young children (and our knees) really appreciated this fun way to explore the grounds of Schönbrunn, from the doors of the palace to the top at Gloriette and back again. It’s an enjoyable hop-on, hop-off ride, with added commentary so you understand what you can see. With Gloriette being so high up, it also takes a lot of the strain out of getting there and admiring the view. It takes in stops for major attractions in the park, and shows you some parts you may never come across otherwise. The price is a little steep - though it is free for the Vienna Pass - but you could ride to a lot of places.Written August 21, 2024
- 608vladr0 contributionsNot the best option to see the cityWe got the bus (3 day pass) free through the Vienna Pass (read the fine print for attractions!) and there was some wasted time. The first bus starts around 9:30 (even 9:56 if you are not taking it from the center) and the last one is at 17:40 (in August), 17:00 for off season. Ended up taking the subway to visit as much as possible. The buses come every 30 min and you only need 2 of the lines (Yellow and Blue). A 3 day subway pass is 1/3 of the price. Commentary was ok, a few fun facts and opera music.Written August 19, 2024
- TonyChristianA0 contributionsA visit that is worth itVery beautiful, worth visiting. If you arrive with a car parking in the city center could be difficult. You have to have a lot of patience.Once you have managed to park, you can start to discover all the beauty of HallstattWritten August 17, 2024
- 137karenm0 contributionsGreat day exploring the countryside and the Danube ValleyThe Day Trip was exactly as described. Our guide Thomas was great in two languages and kept us entertained on the bus. The boat ride was a relaxing way to enjoy this area of Austria. We took the Melk Abbey tour and highly recommend that as well.Written August 16, 2024
- miras2330 contributionsWorth seeing from ViennaThis was a lovely outing from Vienna. Bratislava is an hour away by coach or catamaran. Personally preferred to sail down the Danube river. You have WiFi on catamaran, can have a drink, there’s a good bar on it. Bratislava is a nice, cosy city with interesting history. As for guides it’s hit and miss, depends what you’re interested in. You might be better exploring the city yourselves, taking a city tour with the Oldtimer City Tours on their old looking carriages that take you up to the castle. Check if the Castle is open on your day of visit. Also first Wednesday of the month the entrance is free.Written August 8, 2024
- GoPlaces1431080 contributionsDay out in HalstadtHallstatt was excellent. Bus ride a little long but it is what it is. Tour guide Claudia was superb and the bus driver was very good and safe too. Overall a fantastic experience even if it did rain throughout the day. Well worth the visit!Written August 5, 2024

The trip was advertised as having an English guide but English wasn't spoken by the majority of the crew. We were not made aware of the protocol for the evening in terms of the running order as they only spoke in German.
We saw people helping themselves to the buffet but wondered if this was due to tables being called up one at a time. The food on the menu was also in German so we had no idea what the food was. This is not helpful if you are vegetarian or have a food intolerance.
There was traditional Viennese music and the two piece act were (it seemed) taking requests from each table. However, when the accordinist made his way to our table, the vocalist shook his head and steered him away. We were very offended by this.
The trip was not suitable for English and should not be advertised as such. We are looking for a refund if possible.

The only reason I have given this tour a 4 is because there was no commentary at all in English. Just a couple of points of interest would have been nice. However, the food was plentiful, delicious and definitely traditional and you could just nibble all night. Drinks were reasonable and a good variety. We found it a little long at 3.5 hours but we’d had a long day. If you’re looking for great Austrian food and some traditional songs with plenty of time to eat, drink and relax then this is recommended.

Very good trip with excellent buffet and accordion and guitar music with some vocals.Although trip was very good it isa tad long at three and a half hours. All is costed in the fair £42 fare except drinks which are reasonably priced.
It has my recommendation.

Mixed experience. The good: 1) Staff was very nice, spoke multiple languages, and were generally accessible. The bad: 2) Two story boat, tour says is with air-conditioning upstairs - there was none, signs said do not open window or keep doors open, it was over 80 F at least 30 + C, very uncomfortable, 3) No one explained that the music was mainly downstairs only, only places to sit for dinners downstairs, so upstairs got done music later when the musicians walked around - by the time due to no air conditioning we were outside - only those inside had tables downstairs, 4) Seating - a chart should be supplied as we had horrible seats upstairs in no air conditioning with our back to the farthest wall so you could not take decent pictures or see properly - while someone needs to sit there I booked well in advance and would never have chosen those seats, Observations: 5) Musicians were good even though most of what we did hear was through speakers, 6) Food was basic Vienna buffet and there were enough choices so dinner was adequate, 7) We liked going through the locks, 8) Scenery was different than expected and fine for about two hours, three hours was long.
Once was enough at this location. If you can pick your seats wisely.
